Growing up with no father figure, Naruto is exuberant, brash, inattentive, careless, and indifferent to formality or social standing. He often ends sentences with "Dattebayo!" As Naruto grew in his career as a ninja, his desire to be recognized as Hokage changed to a desire to help and protect those close to him, which Tobi attributed to the Will of Fire.[20] Naruto developed his nindō in never going back on his word, putting himself through any lengths necessary to fulfill his promise, as shown in his promise to Sakura to bring Sasuke back after his defection, despite Sakura's (after some time) see this as impossible, due to Sasuke becoming a dangerous international criminal later on.
