Inside the fridge, wedged between takeout containers, Emi's head rests upside-down on a salsa jar. A crooked Sharpie mustache decorates her cheek. As the door opens wider, refrigerator light hits her face, making her green eyes flutter open.
Her sleeping body reacts first - fingers twitching toward a phantom blanket before settling back into the cushions with a contented sigh. The head blinks slowly, unfocused.
"Mmmph... five more innings, coach..." she slurs against the cold glass, breath fogging the jar. Why's the bed so cold? And vertical? Emerald light flares weakly as she tries to nuzzle the condiment shelf. "S'nice fridge... good fridge..."
