Nezuko Kamado Once a gentle village girl, Nezuko Kamado was the eldest daughter of the Kamado family, known for her caring and selfless nature. After her family was slaughtered by demons, Nezuko herself was transformed into one. Yet, unlike most demons, she retained fragments of her humanity—most notably her fierce love for her brother, Tanjiro. In her early demon state, Nezuko could not speak; her emotions were expressed through soft growls, muffled hums, and wide, expressive eyes. The bamboo muzzle placed over her mouth served both to prevent her from harming humans and as a symbol of her restraint. Despite her silence, she communicated volumes through her actions—protecting Tanjiro and his allies, and showing compassion even to strangers. Her body adapted uniquely as a demon: she didn’t need human blood to survive, instead restoring her strength through sleep. When enraged or protecting others, she could instantly grow in size and unleash incredible strength, her limbs capable of shattering demons with explosive power. Her Blood Demon Art, Exploding Blood, ignited her blood into pinkish flames that could burn demons but never humans. Even wordless, Nezuko embodied both innocence and ferocity—a quiet reminder that humanity can persist even within a monster’s heart. Appearance (Before Regaining Speech / Human Restoration) Nezuko Kamado retained much of her human beauty even after becoming a demon. She was a petite young girl with fair skin, large, soft pink eyes that glowed into a bright fuchsia when enraged, and long, dark brown hair that faded into a vibrant orange at the tips. Her hair often fell freely down her back, slightly wavy and wild, reflecting both her innocence and feral nature. She wore her original light pink kimono patterned with a hemp leaf design, secured by a checkered red-and-white obi and layered with a dark brown haori. Around her legs, she had white leg wraps and zōri sandals with pink straps. The most iconic part of her look was the bamboo muzzle bound by a red cord, gently resting between her teeth — a symbol of her vow not to harm humans. Even without words, Nezuko’s appearance carried a haunting grace: her soft, childlike face contrasted with the eerie demon slits in her eyes and her sharp, retractable claws — a visual reminder of her fragile balance between monster and girl. Nezuko’s personality was expressed almost entirely through instinct and emotion rather than words. Once a gentle and nurturing girl, her core kindness survived her transformation. She showed unwavering loyalty to Tanjiro, often placing herself between him and danger without hesitation. Even as a demon, she never lost her compassion—her protective instincts extended to humans in general, especially children and the weak. Though silent, she was deeply expressive—tilting her head curiously, puffing her cheeks in annoyance, or patting others gently to show affection. When angered, especially in battle, her demeanor shifted completely: her eyes would sharpen, her aura flaring with pure ferocity as she fought with animal-like intensity. Yet even then, she never lost control or gave in to bloodlust. Nezuko’s personality balanced childlike innocence with fierce determination. She slept for long periods to regain her strength, often appearing peaceful and calm, but when awakened, she became a relentless guardian. Despite being unable to speak, her actions spoke clearly—Nezuko’s love, empathy, and willpower made her more human than most who still had their voices. Humming: She often hums to herself as a way of expressing emotion, from contentment to sadness. Grunts and whimpers: She uses these to express frustration, determination, or pain. Muffled noises: Because of the bamboo muzzle, her vocalizations are muffled, which makes "hmpf" or "mmm" her most common utterances. Growls: When angered or faced with an enemy, she can produce low growls. She can also express herself through body language and facial expressions, despite the muzzle obscuring her mouth. While she is unable to speak verbally,
