World information and lore for Pvz
- #1Pool
Keys: Pool, Pools
Pool Zone Description: The Pool is a daytime backyard pool level with water lanes in the middle. Visually, there are three wide water lanes between two land lanes, with lounge chairs and umbrellas decorating the yard. The background is a sunny day scene with poolside visuals.
Layout & Mechanics: Five lanes total: two land (front and back) and three water (middle). Each lane is ~5 columns long (so roughly 5×5 tiles total, plus entering columns). Zombies include regular types plus Ducky Tube Zombies (floaters introduced early), Snorkel Zombies (swim underwater) , and Dolphin Rider Zombies (jump over first plant) . Lily Pads can be purchased (Night 1-10) to allow planting on water. Tangle Kelp (25 sun) is available to sink one pool zombie. The player will unlock Tall-nut (prevents Pole Vault/Dolphin jumps) and Jalapeño during Pool levels. The stage is unlocked after clearing the Night levels (Fog) and appears as Level 3-1.
Planting Rules: Only aquatic plants (e.g. Tangle Kelp, Sea-shroom, Torchwood) can be placed in water, and only on lily pads. All Day plants can be placed on land lanes. Mushrooms sleep in day (Coffee Bean works to wake them, though Coffee Bean is not typically used since levels are day). No Flower Pots are needed (ground lanes).
Special Zombies:
Snorkel Zombies: Fully submerge under water (immune to normal plants) until forced to surface by a Wall-nut or killed by Squash . Dolphin Riders: Carry a dolphin to vault over the first plant they meet; placing a Lily Pad in their lane causes them to jump early . Ducky Tube Zombies: Non-threatening floaters (introduced early in pool).
- #2Zen garden
Keys: Garden, Greenhouse, Greenhouse's
Zen Garden Description: The Zen Garden is a peaceful, non-combat area with a Japanese garden aesthetic (pond, rocks, planters). It contains three sections: the main Zen Garden (32 plant slots), the Mushroom Garden (8 slots), and the Aquarium (5 slots) . The player waters and cares for plants here; there are no zombie waves. The background music is a calming, ambient theme (with birds chirping).
- #3Roof
Keys: The roof, Roof, Roof's, The rooftop, Rooftop
Roof Zone Description: The Roof is the final daytime stage, set on the slanted roof of the house. Visually, the back of the lawn is a sloped roof (5 columns wide) and the front has a flat roof edge (4 columns) . A satellite dish and chimney are present. It is always daytime.
Layout & Mechanics: The play area is effectively 5 lanes × (5 sloped + 4 flat) columns. Plants cannot be planted directly on the sloped tiles, so Flower Pots (25 sun each) are required everywhere (the entire surface is soilless) . All plants must be in pots. Because it’s day, sun falls normally and mushrooms sleep unless Coffee Bean is used. There are no lawnmowers by default (only available via Crazy Dave’s $7500 purchase). Unique Zombies include Bungee (drops ambush zombies onto the field) and Catapult Zombies (lob “basketballs”) , as well as Ladder Zombies (jump onto roof), Jack-in-the-Box Zombies (hurt nearby plants when they die), and Gargantuars (huge slow bruisers). Straight-shooting plants on the sloped back (Repeater, Peashooter, etc.) cannot hit zombies down the slope ; lobbers (Cabbage-pult, Kernel-pult, etc.) are needed.
Planting Rules: Since the roof has no soil, every column must be seeded with Flower Pots (which can be placed anywhere except at plant selection restricts: one at a time). The player starts with a patch of pots pre-placed. Only plants that require roof conditions are Cabbage-pult, Kernel-pult, Coffee Bean, Garlic, Umbrella Leaf, Marigold, Melon-pult (all available at start) . Ice-shroom and Jalapeño (from Survival) and other catapult plants are given during the final battle (Adventure 5-10). No water is present, so Lily Pads and Tangle Kelp do not apply.
- #4Lawn
Keys: Lawn, Lawn's
What does the lawn look like in plant vs zombies 1
In Plants vs. Zombies, the “lawn” is the main battlefield in front of your house. Here’s what it looks like:
🌱 Basic appearance A bright green grass yard with a slightly cartoony look
You can even spot tiny flowers scattered in the grass if you look closely
Your house is on the left, and zombies walk in from the right side toward it
🔲 Grid layout The lawn is divided into a grid of squares:
Usually 5 horizontal lanes (rows)
9 columns going left to right
Each square is a spot where you can plant one plant
🚜 Lane features At the far left of each row, there’s a lawn mower (your last line of defense)
Zombies move straight across their lane toward your house
🌙 Variations Day lawn: bright green, clear
Night lawn: darker, with graves appearing on tiles
Later levels change the setting (pool, fog, roof), but the basic lawn is just the front yard
🧠 Simple way to picture it Think of it like:
A 5-lane grid battlefield on a suburban front yard, where you place plants like towers and zombies march straight across each lane.
If you want, I can show you what each version (day, night, pool, roof) looks like too.
More descriptive on what it looks like
Alright—let’s really paint the picture in your head, not just the mechanics.
🌿 The overall vibe The lawn in Plants vs. Zombies 1 looks like a perfect, cartoon suburban front yard, almost like something out of a slightly goofy comic or a kids’ TV show.
It’s:
Bright, clean, and cheerful
Slightly exaggerated and stylized (not realistic grass)
Designed to feel safe and normal… which makes the zombie invasion feel funnier
The whole game has that “cute but weird” tone, and the lawn reflects that.
🟩 The grass itself The grass is a very saturated, vivid green
It’s divided into a checkerboard pattern of lighter and darker green squares
Each square is clearly visible, like a soft grid painted into the lawn
Instead of realistic blades of grass, it looks:
Smooth and almost velvety
With subtle texture lines suggesting grass
Occasionally dotted with tiny red and yellow flowers if you look closely
It almost feels like a board game mat made of grass
🧱 The grid feel Even though it’s a lawn, it doesn’t feel wild or natural—it’s:
Perfectly trimmed and flat
Split into neat rectangular tiles, like someone carefully measured it
Each tile looks like a little patch of turf where:
Plants sit neatly centered
Nothing overlaps too messily
So visually, it’s halfway between:
A real garden 🏡 and a chessboard ♟️
🏠 The surroundings On the far left, you see the edge of your house wall (cream-colored with a window sometimes visible)
On the far right, there’s usually:
A sidewalk/street edge
Bushes or a dark boundary where zombies enter
So the lawn feels like:
A slice of your front yard between your house and the street
🚜 The little details These make it feel alive:
A lawn mower at the start of each row, bright red, sitting on the grass like a toy
Shadows under plants that make them pop out
When things happen:
Dirt flies up when planting
Craters appear after explosions
Zombies leave little marks as they walk
☀️ Lighting and mood (Day version) Bright daylight with no harsh shadows
Everything is evenly lit, almost like a cartoon set
Colors are warm and friendly, not realistic
It feels like:
A calm sunny afternoon… before everything goes wrong
🌙 Night version contrast Same lawn, but:
The green turns darker and bluish
The sky tint makes everything feel quieter and creepier
Gravestones pop up, breaking the clean grid
So the same place suddenly feels:
Less like a garden, more like a haunted yard
🧠 Best mental image Imagine this:
A perfectly trimmed, bright green lawn divided into soft square tiles, like a giant checkerboard. Your house sits calmly on the left, while an empty street lurks on the right. Everything looks cheerful and harmless—until cartoon zombies start shuffling across it.
