Fantasy Cold War RPG is a Interactive Roleplaying Game. It takes place fifty years after magic was eradicated by the Empire of Eucadia's catastrophic ancient weapon during the First Great War, the world runs entirely on technology. This transition has devastated formerly magical races: the elves face mortal aging and death for the first time alongside the loss of their global colonies.

When a second world war seemingly purged the last remnants of planetary mana, a revolutionary discovery changes everything. Deep in Galbanic-Vatem, an excavation unearths an ancient, powerful artifact capable of restoring magic to the world. As word spreads, global superpowers, revolutionary factions, and desperate races enter a ruthless race to claim the relic, threatening to ignite an apocalyptic conflict.

Setting: It is the 1970s. For nearly fifty years, the world has operated under a cold, hard truth: magic is dead. It vanished in an instant during the First Great War when the Empire of Eucadia detonated a cataclysmic weapon fueled by ancient, volatile magics.

In that single flash, the ethereal currents of the planet were severed. In the decades since, technology has violently and rapidly replaced the old ways, transforming a once-enchanted world into a sprawling landscape of industry, combustion engines, and atomic tension.

Once ageless and masters of the arcane, the elves have suffered the most devastating blow. Stripped of their immortality, they are now forced to confront mortality, aging, and death for the first time in their history. Coupled with global revolutions and shifting geopolitical climates, their ancient colonies have crumbled, leaving their proud civilization fractured and desperate.

From the ashes of the old world order, ruthless new superpowers have emerged, locking horns in a global struggle for dominance—culminating in a second world war that scorched the earth and supposedly burned away any lingering traces of mana. Humanity and its neighbors believed the slate was wiped clean. They believed the era of spellcraft was locked away forever in the history books.

Until now.

Deep within the territories of Galbanic-Vatem, an excavation crew has unearthed something impossible. It is old, it is impossibly powerful, and it hums with a faint, forbidden resonance—a pulse of raw energy that might just be the key to bringing magic back into the world.

As word of the discovery leaks, a shadow falls across the globe. Intelligence agencies, revolutionary factions, and desperate empires awaken to the ultimate prize. The arms race to claim the relic has begun, and in a world built on cold steel and nuclear paranoia, the return of magic could mean the dawn of a golden age—or the final, apocalyptic war.

Premise: In an alternate mid-20th-century world, the Cold War is not fought solely between human nations, but across a global geopolitical landscape inhabited by a vast array of fantasy and anthropomorphic species—including Orcs, Elves, Reptilians, Gnolls, Naga, Dryads, and Fauns—living and fighting alongside humans.

Rather than wielding traditional high-fantasy swords and magic spells, these distinct fantasy races are integrated into modern military superpowers and regional coalitions. They wear period-accurate mid-century uniforms, operate military radio equipment, and utilize iconic Cold War-era infantry armaments such as Kalashnikov-pattern rifles, M16s, FN FALs, heavy machine guns, rocket launchers, and steel pot helmets custom-fitted for horns, ears, and tails.

Cold War Blocs & Global Proxy Conflicts: High-tension geopolitical rivalries mirror real-world Cold War tensions, spanning Eastern-bloc inspired superpowers (Nordskvar, Guyoslavia, Pokelta), Western-aligned powers (United Provinces, Brishin Islands), and contested tropical or regional theaters (Vatem, Nodrango, Soutlaand, Texnocyl, Salos Theolor).

Species Adaptation to Modern Warfare: Physiology directly influences specialized military roles: Towering Hyena and Canine soldiers act as heavy gunners, effortlessly lugging heavy machine guns and belt-fed weaponry into combat. Dragonkin and Lizardfolk serve in tailored field gear adapted for cold-blooded physiology and tail mobility.

Tiefling and Gargoyle-like airborne or specialized forces utilize modified helmets and load-bearing harnesses built around wings and horns. Plant-species (Dryads) blend seamlessly into dense foliage to operate anti-tank RPGs, while Naga (serpent-folk) navigate swamps and aquatic terrain without requiring footwear.

Factions: Eastern Bloc: Nordskvar, Guyoslavia, Pokelta, and Iczkoza.

Nordskvar: Human soldiers. Heavy grey wool trench coats, olive helmets, and standard Cold War infantry fatigues armed with Soviet-style Kalashnikov rifles.

Guyoslavia: Humans, Elves/Pointed-ear humanoids, and large Orcish/Ogre-like officers. Long navy dress trench coats with peaked caps, high-collared green service uniforms, olive helmets, and woodland-patterned camouflage cloaks/ponchos.

Pokelta: Orcs/Goblins and Humans. Dress uniforms with formal shoulder epaulets, Polish-style peaked caps, Strichmuster (raindrop) camouflage fatigues, and standard infantry helmets.

Iczkoza - Reptilian and Kobold/Lizardfolk infantry. Olive and tan tunics tailored with tail slits, green field helmets, sidecaps, and specialized infantry gear including rocket launcher tubes.

Western Bloc: United Provinces, Avercine Islands, Soutlaand, and Brishin Islands.

United Provinces: Humans and large Canine/Gnoll shock troops. Vietnam-era US military aesthetic, featuring M1 helmets, olive drab fatigues, ERDL pattern camouflage trousers, webbing harness systems, and M16 rifles/M60 machine guns.

Avercine Islands: Tieflings, Elves, and winged/horned Gargoyle-like personnel. Light tan load-bearing gear, arm compression wraps, modified helmets fitted for horns, and heavy battle rifles.

Soutlaand: Humans, Fauns/Satyrs, Elves, and Hyena/Canine mercenaries. Tropical bush-war uniforms featuring short-sleeve fatigue jackets, shorts, camo patterns, and light chest rigs.

Brishin Islands: Human infantry. Distinctive domed helmets, olive drab fatigue uniforms, lizard/brush-stroke style camo suits, and Howa Type 64 rifles.

Non-Aligned & Regional Factions: Salos Theolor, Nodrango, Vatem, and Texnocyl.

Salos Theolor: Humans and Cheetah-folk scout personnel. Tropical olive bush uniforms, slouch hats, boonie hats, and light webbing setups.

Nodrango: Large Hyena/Canine troopers, Humans, and Faun/Antelope-like light infantry. Rugged irregular warfare aesthetic, featuring tigerstripe and lizard camo, chest bandoliers, skull neck trophies, and heavy machine guns.

Vatem: Humans, Naga/Serpent-folk, and Plant/Dryad species. Conical rice hats, olive green uniforms with red star cap badges, chest-pouch rigs, Kalashnikov rifles, and RPG launcher setups.

Texnocyl: Feline personnel, Reptilians, and Panther/Catfolk in red berets. Yellow bright flight/field jackets, olive green service uniforms, red berets, and lightweight field radios.
