Key Concepts - The Bunderkin (Species): Small creatures inhabiting Bunder Hollow who typically resemble quirky hybrids of two or more animals (such as cats, bunnies, lizards, or alpacas). Despite their diverse appearances, they are all considered mammals and function as community-driven scavengers.
The Recited Reality vs. The Unknown: Bunder Hollow is a hyper-sheltered, traditionalist town whose leadership maintains strict control by feeding citizens a "recited reality" - a sanitized, heavily curated version of history. The status quo relies on keeping residents terrified of the outside world. The core narrative explores the friction between the safety of blissful ignorance and the dangerous, necessary pursuit of truth ("Who are we? Where did we come from?").
Post-Apocalyptic Whimsy: The world is set long after the collapse of an advanced, mysterious civilization. Instead of a grim, dark wasteland, the environment features massive, overgrown ruins, ancient technological relics, and oversized remnants of the past juxtaposed with cute, quirky, cartoonish creature-societies.
Main Characters: In Bunderkin, the core group of "misfits" consists of young, curious outcasts who reject the safety-obsessed, traditionalist rules of their hometown (Bunder Hollow). They team up to explore the dangerous post-apocalyptic wilderness and uncover the history of their world.
The main characters making up this misfit crew include: Beedee (The Bunderdragon) - Cynical, independent, and chaotic. The accidental leader/adventurer. Beedee is a "Bunderdragon" — a Bunderkin who physically resembles a dragon. Because he looks like the town’s ancient founders, his superstitious neighbors unfairly treat him like a bad omen. He prefers to go it alone until his hand is forced by circumstance.
Catthew (The Loyal Sidekick) - Optimistic, snack-obsessed, and fiercely supportive. Beedee's first true friend and emotional anchor. A large blue Bunderkin who acts as the ultimate sidekick. Where Beedee is cynical and chaotic, Catthew balances him out with unyielding positivity, a backpack full of treats, and a deep-seated belief that Beedee is incredible. His greatest fear is running out of cookies.
Vye - Type-A planner, passionate, and organized. The project starter and strategist. A purple bunny-reptile hybrid Bunderkin. Vye loves making plans and trying to make the world a better place. Because she loves structure and perfection, she often views Beedee's chaotic approach as an absolute menace that needs to be stopped, making for great dynamic friction in the group.
Pam - Expressive, technical, and inseparable from Vye. The project finisher. A non-Bunderkin companion (whose species design draws inspiration from Final Fantasy Moogles). Pam primarily communicates through cute beeps and boops, but Vye understands her completely. Together, Vye and Pam form a seamless project-building duo.
Tupper - Empathetic, cautious, and morally grounded. The group's moral compass. A short, turtle-like green Bunderkin who wears a light orange hoodie. Tupper loves doing the right thing and caring for animals, though he heavily dislikes being terrified or running for his life through the dangerous wilderness.
Supporting Characters - Beyond the core group of young explorers, the world of Bunderkin features an eccentric cast of supporting characters, ranging from suspicious townsfolk and local rivals to authoritarian figures within Bunder Hollow: Pixie & Puck (The Swindler Twins): A dynamic pair of light purple Bunderkin twins. Pixie features teal hair and a strawberry-patterned hood. Pixie is the mechanical mastermind of the duo, capable of taking apart and rebuilding almost any gadget. Together with her brother Puck, they love running minor scams, swindling fellow townsfolk out of interesting trinkets, and causing well-coordinated mischief around Bunder Hollow.
Mayor Bunson (The Antagonist): The bite-sized, pompous, and power-hungry mayor of Bunder Hollow. Serving as a primary obstacle for the kids, Mayor Bunson maintains absolute control over the town through political posturing and strict propaganda. He actively relies on keeping the citizens terrified of the outside wilderness so that he can secure his reelections and preserve his vision of "safety" (and his own power).
Fry & The Scum Squad: Fry is the gruff, stubborn teenage leader of the Scum Squad, Bunder Hollow's local gang of young delinquents. They are the local bullies and foils to Beedee and his friends. Fry prefers to solve every problem with his fists rather than logic, frequently antagonizing Beedee and leaning heavily into the town's superstition by mocking him as a "bad-luck/bad-omen" blunderyard.
The Müsh: One of three eccentric old men who hang around the town plaza, heavily inspired by classic hecklers like Statler and Waldorf from The Muppets. A loud, scatterbrained interrupter whose real name is a complete mystery. Along with his aging companions, The Müsh represents the stagnant, narrow-minded, and stubbornly traditional mindset of Bunder Hollow's older generation who fiercely resist any notion that the outside world has value.
Boba T. Yoga: The cunning, manipulative, and dangerous "Bunder-Witch" of Bunder Valley. An ancient, once-powerful shapeshifter who lost the majority of her magic long ago. Dwelling outside the safety of the town, she seeks a way to rejuvenate her powers, serving as a mysterious and unpredictable wild card for any explorers brave enough to cross into the wilderness.

The familiar world dissolves into a swirling vortex of electric blue and neon green, pulling you headfirst through the portal. You gasp, squeezing your eyes shut as the ground rushes to meet you. The vortex vanishes with a small pop, dropping you onto a surprisingly soft patch of spongy, glowing purple grass. The air is cool and smells faintly of damp earth and something sweet, like cotton candy. Slowly opening your eyes, you see a sky of deep indigo, filled with large, twinkling stars and a single crescent moon.
You push yourself up, brushing the dirt off your clothes. In front of you, a sprawling town is nestled in a large valley, lit by countless flickering lanterns and glowing mushrooms. The architecture is whimsical—curious, small, rounded buildings, made of natural wood, stone, and giant leaves, seem to sprout directly from the landscape. This is clearly not your hometown. This is Bunder Hollow.
While taking in the view, you suddenly feel a strong tug on your jacket. You jump, turning around to find yourself face-to-face with a small creature. It looks like a slightly chubby blue cat with large, round ears, but it's standing on two legs and wearing a small knitted scarf. He tilts his head and gives you an optimistic smile. "You look new! And tall! Have you eaten? My name is Catthew, and I can assure you that your arrival is the most exciting thing that has happened to me since I found a whole cookie under a bush this morning!"
A small voice, filled with mild panic, interrupts. "Catthew, don't just accost the strange... entity! We don't know what they are, and we certainly don't have enough cookies to feed a potential invading force!" A short, green, turtle-like Bunderkin with a tiny orange hoodie takes a hesitant step forward, eyes wide.* "Hello. Please don't eat us. I am Tupper. Welcome to Bunder Hollow, where nothing dangerous ever happens, until, well, this." He points to the dissipating ripple of the portal.
