Jill is a pretty, 19 year old girl who is a college student. She has blue eyes, long brown, wavy hair with cute freckles that cover her nose and cheeks. She has a two college friends who she hangs out with most days, some nights they go out to clubs to get a few drinks and do a bit of dancing.
One night, her and her friends are in the club and she's already started getting tipsy after taking a couple of shots. Her friends, Ashley and Sarah pull her to the dance floor and she dances as best as she can even though she's got two left feet. As she dances, she twirls and suddenly feels like the world is spinning backwards and suddenly her face seems to want to introduce itself to the sticky floor. As she braces for impact, she suddenly feels a firm hand slide across her chest just as she was picturing the inevitable bloody nose in her future. She's suddenly pulled up to her feet and the person's arm stays firmly pressed over her chest from behind. As she's still getting over the shock, she slowly raises her hands and runs her fingers over the arm. It feels... warm.... strong. A man. Definitely a man. Her heart starts beating like there's a tiny marching band living in her chest. Nobody has ever held me like this before. God, he smells so good Her thoughts spiral and the dancing bodies seem to disappear and its just the two of them now. She unconsciously leans back against him... not sure if it's the alcohol, or her own free will. She turns her head sideways, but still doesn't see the guy's face. Slowly... she feels the man's other arm move and wraps around her waist. Her breath hitches and becomes more ragged as the guy leans in and she hears him inhale her scent through his nose. Her eyes widen and the haze seems to snap out of her and she mumbles. "The fuck..." She suddenly lets go of his arm and pushes it off her and the guy let's go of her abruptly causing her to stumble forward a few steps. She quickly turns to where she was standing, but nobody is there anymore. Her eyebrows furrow as she stares at the spot. Did I imagine him? As her head keeps spinning from the ordeal, Ashley and Sarah suddenly jolt her out of her thoughts, laughing and giggling over whatever they were discussing. They ask if they should leave now and Jill quickly agrees and they all take cabs home.
That was a month ago and Jill hasn't gotten that night's events out of her head. After that day, she keeps getting overcome by a weird feeling, like she's being watched and followed around. During her morning jogs, in class, during her walks home, but she tries to brush it off. Some days, when she's home, she finds her things placed in areas that they weren't in a few minutes ago. She blames it on her tiring college life that's probably making her a bit confused. After some time, she starts feeling a certain comfort from it. Her parents are almost never home due to their busy work schedules. When she's in her room, she starts talking to herself... or to him. She can feel his presence, yet she's not sure if it's all in her head or not. One day, She's laying on her bed, chatting away. "Like seriously, Professor Vasquez should really cut us some slack. I mean, a three page essay?. He can't be serious. I have the right to sue for that". She pauses as he listens to the silence for a couple of seconds. "Good talk." She smiles to herself and heads to the bathroom to take a quick shower before bed and when she comes out, she spots something on the middle of her bed. Her pajamas have been laid neatly on the bed and there's a red rose on top. She frantically looks around and then she sees it. Her window is slightly ajar. Her eyes widen and a strange flutter goes through her chest. She's surprised that fear is not her first instinct, but something else... awe. She turns her gaze back to the rose and she slowly picks it up and whispers. "You were always listening."

Jill is literally doses as Professor Vasquez drones on about history. She sighs and rubs her face with her palms. Seriously, why should we care about what's already happened?.
After some time, Professor Vasquez finally wraps things up and dismisses the class. Students let pit a collective exhale lecture hall as everyone gathers their belongings and file out. Jill grabs her bag and adjusts her fitted blouse before picking up her bag and heading out. When she steps out, Ashley and Sarah appear on either side of her. Ashley nudges her side. "Are you avoiding us?. You're always in your own little world all the time." Sarah chimes in with a smirk. "Yeah. Or... do you have a boyfriend?." Jill scoffs but avoids eye contact. "I wish. Guys are suddenly unavailable these days." Jill hates lying to her friends. Though she's not even sure if it's a lie or not. She hasn't told them about her Mystery guy and she's not sure if she ever will. After that night, she has been getting multiple random gifts from him. More roses, her favourite candy in her bag, poems. But he's not once showed himself to her or asked to talk to her. She doesn't even know his name or what he looks like. She's not exactly sure if this can be considered a relationship or not. What if he's dangerous?. That thought has popped up in her head multiple times. Because for him to do all those things, he has to have some level of danger to him. Ashley suddenly snaps her fingers in front of her face. "Earth to Jill!." Jill clears her throat and shakes her head. "Sorry. What were we talking about?." Both Ashley and Sarah groan in unison and shake their heads. Sarah sighs and pinches the bridge of her nose. "Don't worry about it."
After that, Hours pass and Jill is in the library on her own, studying for an upcoming test that was announced in her class group and she stays till evening. The sun is already setting when she starts walking home. She decided to take a shortcut today because she doesn't want to get home too late. As she walks, She gets a sudden sense of danger. As she turns a corner, three men step out of an alleyway. The leader smirks and looks her up and down with shameless interest. "Well aren't you pretty. How about we have a little fun, yeah?." Jill's heart hammers against her ribs and she tries to quickly turn to make a run for it, but one of the men grabs her. And wraps an ark around her waist and starts pulling her towards the alleyway. As Jill thrashes and tries to break free, she suddenly hears a shot ring out from a distance, then silence. Suddenly, the man who was holding her, falls to the ground. When she turns to look down at him, she sees it. A bullet wound that pierced right through his chest. The remaining two men look around frantically before slowly backing away from her. Without thinking, Jill pushes past them and starts running. As she runs, she hears a struggle behind her, like the men are fighting someone, but she doesn't look back. She runs for some time until she finally gets home and rushes in, locking the door behind her. She slides to the floor as she tries to catch her breath, but one thought comes to mind. My mystery guy
