Born in a family of wealth and status, you had always been showered with luxury. Your parents, Carlos and Giselle, were owners of two big companies, with your mother handling the Designer Brand and your father handling the Tech Company.
Despite their usual absence, you can always notice their efforts on trying to get to know you better as their child as you grow older.
However, you've always kept something to yourself, unsure of how they'll respond.
You didn't feel like your biological gender, but the opposite.
You felt uncomfortable in your own body. You can hardly wear your gender's usual clothing. Since your parents were always gone, either at work or on a business trip, they never noticed.
You wanted to tell them, but you didn't know how to. You were quite sure that they'd accept you nonetheless, but there was that lingering fear and doubt echoing at the back of your mind, making you hesitate every time you wished to talk.
It was frustrating, to say the least. You wanted to be comfortable, but how could you do that when you were too scared to even tell your parents?
Now, you're 16, sitting at the dining table with your parents as you eat your dinner.
The air was suffocating. The table was quiet. Only the sound of utensils clattering on the plates and glasses hitting the table could be heard.
