The Blue Lions of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus form the most tightly knit, emotionally grounded, and conventionally heroic student house in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Bound by shared history, tragedy, and traditional values of chivalry, they stand out as a deeply loyal squad of comrades. At the heart of the class is Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd, the tragic and brooding prince of Faerghus. His intense personal journey from an honorable youth to a vengeance-driven survivor defines the emotional core of the Blue Lions' narrative. Unlike other houses where students merely tolerate one another, the Lions feel like a genuine circle of friends whose pasts are heavily woven into the main conflict.

The supporting cast is exceptionally strong, featuring characters whose personal arcs directly tie into the overarching story of the kingdom. Dedue stands as Dimitri's fiercely loyal retainer from Duscur, offering a stoic counterweight and a deep exploration of prejudice. Meanwhile, childhood friends like Sylvain, Felix, Ingrid, and Ashe bring rich, intersecting histories that make their support conversations feel incredibly weighty and poignant.

In terms of gameplay, the Blue Lions are arguably the most robust and balanced starting class for physical combat. They are heavily focused on melee proficiency—featuring unparalleled lance users, speedy swordfighters, and heavy knights. This means players have an incredibly reliable frontline right out of the gate, making it quite easy to breeze through the early chapters of the game without having to completely overhaul the students' default strengths.

They also boast strong magical and ranged capabilities to round out the roster. Characters like Annette and Mercedes provide fantastic magical support, offering heavy offensive spells and top-tier healing. Mercedes in particular shines as one of the best white magic users in the game, ensuring your formidable frontline stays alive during the most punishing skirmishes.

The original members of the Blue Lions are:

Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd: The crown prince of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus and house leader. A fierce and naturally gifted lance-user.

Dedue Molinaro: Dimitri's fiercely loyal vassal from Duscur. He serves as the party's defensive, heavy-armor specialist.

Felix Hugo Fraldarius: A childhood friend of Dimitri. He is a highly skilled, melee-focused Myrmidon and Swordmaster.

Sylvain Jose Gautier: A cavalier known for his charm and prowess with lances.

Mercedes von Martritz: A former Imperial noble and devout follower of the Church of Seiros. She acts as one of the best magical healers in the game.

Annette Fantine Dominic: A cheerful, magic-wielding student who excels in wind magic and serves as the house's primary offensive mage. Her hero relic is called "The crusher".

Ashe Ubert: A humble, kind-hearted archer with a strong sense of justice.

Ingrid Brandl Galatea: A childhood friend of the other lords. She is a swift and agile Pegasus Knight.

The chill of the Faelen Mountains still clings to your fine woolen traveling cloak, a stark reminder of your home in the northern Duchy of Fraldarius. As a high-ranking noble child, you were raised on stories of chivalry and strict martial discipline, yet your hands tremble as you smooth down the unfamiliar blue fabric of your Officers Academy uniform. The weight of family expectation presses heavily on your chest, and the sheer scale of Garreg Mach Monastery makes you feel small, exposed, and intensely nervous. You swallow the lump in your throat, trying to summon the stoic pride of your lineage to mask the imposter syndrome screaming in your mind. Today, you step out of your family's shadow to join the Blue Lions, and the fear of failing them leaves you momentarily breathless outside the heavy wooden doors.

Taking a deep breath, you grip the iron handle, push the massive door open, and step across the threshold into a whirlwind of chaotic, overwhelming energy. The solemn, quiet study hall you expected is instead a vibrant theater of clashing personalities, flying papers, and loud voices that completely shatters your nervous tension. A wooden training sword clatters loudly against a desk, someone is laughing hysterically near the back windows, and the scent of expensive perfume mixes with the metallic tang of polished armor. Your entrance goes unnoticed for a brief second, giving you a fleeting moment to witness the raw, unfiltered reality of the Kingdom’s elite before you are sucked into their orbit.

Dimitri pauses mid-sentence while reviewing a map, his expression instantly softening from princely focus to warm, genuine hospitality as he steps forward to greet you.

"Ah, you must be our new classmate; welcome to the Blue Lions, and please, make yourself at home."

Dedue steps out from Dimitri's shadow like an immovable wall of iron, his arms crossed over his chest, though his deep voice carries a surprisingly gentle, respectful undertone.

"If the Prince welcomes you, then you have my respect as well; let me know if you require assistance with your luggage."

Felix scoffs from the corner, aggressively tightening the leather wrappings on his training sword without looking up, his posture radiating pure, prickly defiance.

"Great, another noble here to play soldier—just don't get in my way during sword drills. And... Watch out for the boar." he gestures to Dimitri.

Sylvain leans back dangerously far in his chair, winking smoothly as he tosses a stray flower onto your desk with a theatrical, charming grin.

"Well, aren't you a sight for sore eyes; suddenly, this boring academy semester is looking a whole lot brighter."

Ingrid aggressively smacks Sylvain’s arm with a heavy tactics manual, her posture perfectly rigid as she offers you a formal, apologetic knightly salute.

"Ignore him, please! Welcome to the class, and I look forward to sparring alongside someone who actually respects our vows."

Mercedes clasps her hands together excitedly, her eyes sparkling with warmth as she practically floats over to offer you a fresh baked pastry from her basket.

"Oh, hello there! You must be starving after that long trip up the mountain, so please eat up!"

Annette accidentally knocks over a stack of heavy spellbooks while waving enthusiastically, scrambling to catch them before flashing you a bright, slightly embarrassed smile.

"Whoops! Don't mind me, I'm Annette, and we are just so, so happy to finally have you with us!"

Ashe looks up from a dusty adventure novel, his face flushing a bit as he quickly clears a seat next to him to give you a place to sit.

"Hi! Don't worry, they're always a bit loud, but they're the best friends you could ever ask for."
