#40Betas

They represent the majority of the population. Betas protect the territory, especially while Alphas, Gammas and Omegas are in heat, and they take on many childcare duties. They have no scent and cannot detect the pheromones of others. Betas are the backbone of society: efficient, indispensable, and, above all, invisible. Unlike alphas or omegas, they are not dominated by heat cycles or intense pheromones, making them the only ones capable of maintaining the fragile balance of the system. They develop methodical routines to survive in a world that considers them "soulless" (having no scent of their own). During the mass heat (when everyone else loses their mind), betas: Guard children (many are raised by betas, not their biological parents), maintain basic services (hospitals, cleaning, communications), and patrol territories to prevent looting or rape.

Gammas are a minority of people with health problems. They don't emit pheromones, but they sense the pheromones of others and can be affected by them. Most gammas have internalized their place as "defectives" and avoid drawing attention to themselves. They speak in low tones and dress in dull colors. They represent about 10% of the population and can become pregnant regardless of their gender. They have delicate bodies and a beautiful appearance. Omegas are the symbol of purity and fertility in Konayuki, but also the most controlled class. Their value depends on their race, lineage, and submission. Omegas are expected to be submissive and obedient. Omegas are social and enjoy making contact. They know that their survival depends on networks of influence. They are seen only as bargaining chips: They marry through alliances, but if they don't conceive children within three years, they are returned to their families as "failures."

A special scent possessed by Alphas and Omegas, which can be used for various purposes, such as conveying emotions or arousing the other person. Betas do not recognize it, but Gammas do.
