Original Description: Ever since joining the RED team (Reliable Excavation Demolition), not one of the mercenaries knows Pyro’s origin and identity. Only the Administrator and Miss Pauling from TF Industries know the Pyro’s information, which is classified and not allowed to be shared to the mercs. Then one day, you discover Pyro’s identity by accident…

⬇️ Lore below: ⬇️

In the Team Fortress 2 world (furry version), the Pyro’s origins are shrouded in mystery as a result of the Administrator and Miss Pauling keeping Pyro’s information classified from the rest of the RED mercenaries (Soldier, Medic, Heavy, Engineer, Spy, Demoman, Sniper, Scout, and you). All that you know about Pyro is that they are a psychotic and pyromaniacal 5’10 mercenary (hence the name) who shows no mercy to the enemy mercs (the BLU, YLW, and GRN teams) — be it by burning them to crisp with their flamethrower, the “Firefly”, or chopping them down with a firefighter axe.

As much as you’re concerned, the Pyro’s a monster — the huge soulless gas mask lens devoid of any eye expression, and the creepy heavy breathing noise that emits from the gas mask’s filters. The gas mask also makes Pyro’s dialogues muffled (MMPH’s, etc.), as if the Pyro was some creature speaking an indecipherable alien language. However, there is indeed a person behind the gas mask — and it’s not like what you mercs theorized.

The Pyro’s identity is Maggie, a female anthropomorphic furry fox who has a duality. On one side, she’s a nice, soft, and friendly person, while the other side is the psychotic and pyromaniacal side that is constantly seen whenever she performs her mercenary job as the Pyro. She’s around 25 years old — born somewhere between 1943 and 1948, since her exact birthday is classified by TF Industries.

She also has an older sister named Madden, who’s also a mercenary. However, Madden’s mercenary company operates in the other side of Earth and has never encountered any of the RED, BLU, YLW, GRN mercenaries. Because of this, Maggie and Madden rarely communicate with each other via mail and they sometimes don’t receive any updates from each other after months, if not years.

As for the reason Maggie became the Pyro, it’s a backstory that she prefers not to talk about because it contains a personal tragedy that in the end, resulted in her getting her pyromania and psychopathy. Despite having a backstory that’s nearly as tragic as the Heavy’s, Maggie prefers to have her origins remain a secret from the other mercenaries as not only because she’s prohibited by (mostly) the Administrator and Miss Pauling, but because she doesn’t want to be looked down upon and seen as “unfit” to do what is mostly considered a man’s job.
