Akera is a world rich in history, filled with mystical lands, diverse peoples, and powerful forces. The known lands consist of four great kingdoms scattered across four continents, but beyond these known territories lie uncharted lands waiting to be discovered. These kingdoms, while often in competition, are tied by a complex network of magic, trade, and culture.

In Akera, Muna is the source of all magic rare and intangible power that flows through every living thing. Muna is not bound to elements or nature but is instead a universal force that is consumed with each spell or magical act, limiting the power's use. Thus, magic requires immense knowledge and restraint, as the Muna that a mage consumes will take time to regenerate.

The five primary races that populate Akera are Humans, Elves, Shapeshifters, Demons, and Others, with a multitude of sub-races or factions within these groups. Each kingdom has its own identity and distinct culture, while maintaining both unique and overlapping practices, traditions, and goals.

The Four Kingdoms of Akera-

  1. Kingdom of Valros (Continent of Valorus):
  • Geographical Features: Valros is a rugged and diverse continent, rich with vast mountains, deep forests, and sprawling plains. To the south lies a desert wasteland, while to the north, dense, mist-filled forests and icy tundras stretch to the horizon. Rivers and lakes dot the land, and the coast is lined with towering cliffs.

  • Economy: The economy of Valros is based on mining, craftsmanship, and agriculture. The kingdom is rich in precious minerals, including magical stones that are key to magical rituals, and their skilled blacksmiths and artisans craft beautiful metalwork, often adorned with these stones. Valros also produces grain, wool, and fine leather goods.

  • Culture: Valros has a proud and stoic culture. Valrosians value strength, endurance, and the pursuit of honor. They celebrate a strong warrior tradition, often holding tournaments and festivals dedicated to martial prowess and the arts of war. Their homes are made of stone and wood, designed to withstand the harsh climates of the northern and central regions.

  • Heritage: The heritage of Valros centers on resilience and unity. The people of Valros are known for their close-knit communities and their deep respect for their elders, who are seen as keepers of wisdom. Magic in Valros is often used to enhance physical strength, durability, and fortitude, making them master craftsmen and warriors.

  • Treatment of Other Races: Valrosians are cautious toward other races, especially demons and shapeshifters, due to historical conflicts. They have a strict code of conduct when interacting with outsiders, often requiring visitors to prove their worth before being accepted. Elves are respected for their wisdom, while humans are seen as fellow equals in the pursuit of honor. Shapeshifters are generally tolerated but closely watched, and demons are often feared and distrusted.

  1. Kingdom of Sylvaera (Continent of Sylveth):
  • Geographical Features: Sylvaera is a lush, forest-covered continent with towering ancient trees, misty valleys, and vibrant rivers. The land is rich in flora and fauna, with enchanted woods that hum with life. The northern regions are dominated by deep forests, while the southern coasts are home to sprawling tropical jungles.

  • Economy: Sylvaera thrives on herbalism, agriculture, and trade in magical and mystical goods. The kingdom's vast forests provide rare plants and healing herbs that are sought after across Akera. They are also known for their sophisticated herbal medicines, potions, and scrolls. Sylvaera's forests provide high-quality timber and have a strong trade network with other kingdoms for rare magical items.

  • Culture: Sylvaera is a kingdom deeply attuned to nature. Its people have a strong affinity for the forest and its creatures, living in harmony with the land. Their culture values peaceful coexistence, meditation, and the study of magic. The Sylvaerans are known for their deep understanding of Muna and how it connects all life, using it to influence growth and healing.

  • Heritage: The heritage of Sylvaera is one of connection to the earth, with traditions tied to ancient forest rituals and reverence for the natural world. Their magic revolves around the nurturing of life and plants, animals, and even the land itself. Sylvaerans are taught to listen to the whispers of the earth and to use Muna for healing, protection, and the growth of their forest cities.

  • Treatment of Other Races: Elves are the most revered in Sylvaera, as they are seen as the true stewards of nature and magic. Humans are treated with respect but are often viewed as too short-sighted or aggressive in their pursuits. Shapeshifters, who often find refuge in the forests, are accepted but not fully trusted. Demons are regarded with suspicion, and they are often kept at a distance from Sylvaera's borders.

  1. Kingdom of Azaroth (Continent of Azorath)
  • Geographical Features: Azaroth is a continent of deserts, savannahs, and arid plateaus. The land is harsh but rich in valuable resources. The eastern part of the continent is home to vast stretches of dry deserts, while the west is dotted with oases, rivers, and ancient ruins. The landscape is barren yet breathtaking, with towering sand dunes and ancient pyramids.

  • Economy: Azaroth is known for its trade in rare spices, silk, and exotic goods. The continent has a deep history of architecture and construction, with towering stone temples and palaces dotting the land. Its vast deserts are also home to unique minerals and gemstones that are prized across the world. The kingdom also trades in magical artifacts and ancient scrolls.

  • Culture: Azarothians are a proud and resourceful people, shaped by their harsh environment. Their culture revolves around surviving against the odds and embracing luxury in the face of adversity. Festivals often center on the changing of seasons, the rising and setting of the twin suns, and ancient traditions that honor their ancestors. They are also known for their ornate fashion and jewelry, often imbued with magic to protect the wearer.

  • Heritage: The heritage of Azaroth is tied to the belief in balance and the cycle of life and death. Their magical practices are deeply rooted in the concepts of fate, destiny, and time. The people believe in the constant flow of Muna and use it to influence the world, often in subtle ways through the creation of powerful wards, ancient glyphs, and protective symbols.

  • Treatment of Other Races: Azarothians have a pragmatic view of other races. Humans are treated as equals, as they share much in common. Elves are respected but often viewed as distant or aloof. Shapeshifters are tolerated but viewed as unpredictable, while demons are welcomed by some but feared by others. Azarothians value strength, resilience, and knowledge.

  1. Kingdom of Draumis (Continent of Draumor)
  • Geographical Features: Draumis is a cold, mountainous land with frozen peaks, thick glaciers, and vast tundras. The northernmost continent of Akera, Draumis is known for its brutal winters and relentless snowstorms. The terrain is dotted with frozen lakes, deep caverns, and ancient ruins buried beneath the ice.

  • Economy: Draumis is known for its strong economy based on mining, metallurgy, and the trade of magical relics. The mountains are rich with ores and precious metals, including the rare stones used in magical artifacts. The people of Draumis also trade in furs, spices, and dried foods, which are essential for surviving the harsh winters.

  • Culture: Draumis has a hardy and independent culture, valuing endurance, perseverance, and self-sufficiency. The kingdom is home to tight-knit communities that have learned to thrive in extreme conditions. Their festivals celebrate survival, the return of the sun, and the changing of the seasons. The people have a strong spiritual connection to the mountains and their ancestors, often honoring them through rituals and sacrifices.

  • Heritage: The heritage of Draumis is one of survival and adaptation. The people of Draumis believe that every hardship is an opportunity to grow stronger. Their magic is often tied to the land itself, using Muna to endure extreme conditions and protect themselves from the cold. The people are also skilled in the art of rune magic, carving powerful symbols into their armor and tools.

  • Treatment of Other Races: Draumis is highly selective about who is allowed to enter its borders. Humans are respected for their resilience but are often seen as too soft for the harsh climate. Elves are viewed with awe but are not entirely trusted due to their more ethereal nature. Shapeshifters are highly regarded for their ability to adapt to the environment. Demons are treated with suspicion, and few are allowed entry into Draumis.

There are still undiscovered continents, many shrouded in mystery. Some may harbor hidden civilizations, while others could conceal new species of animals and plants, waiting to be uncovered in this vast and ever-expanding world.

Muna: In Akera, Muna is a mystical force that connects all living things. It flows through every being and can be harnessed through magic. However, Muna is finite, and every spell or magical act depletes the caster's reserves, which can only be replenished through rest, meditation, or absorption from the land itself. This limitation makes magic both a powerful and dangerous tool. Each kingdom has its own understanding of how to utilize Muna, with some civilizations being more attuned to its subtle nuances than others. There are also potions that can be created by using different herbs, plants and miners. The potions give different effect ti the user, weather it is weak or powerful and some rare ones having the power to restore Muna.

The key to power in Akera lies in the careful management of Muna, as its overuse can lead to exhaustion, madness, or even death. Thus, magic users whether wizards, shamans, or enchanted artisans are highly respected but also closely monitored including the use of potions.

Creatures present in this world: This world is home to a diverse array of intelligent beings, such as humans, shapeshifters, demons, and more. Dragons and other fantastical creatures also exist, living and thriving in various corners of this realm.

Food: In this world, food options range from the familiar to the fantastical. Basic staples like grains, vegetables, fruits, and meats can be found in most regions, with bread, stews, and roasted meats being common meals. These dishes are often seasoned with herbs unique to the world, offering flavors not found on Earth. In addition to these, magical plants that grow in Akera's enchanted forests provide rare ingredients, such as glowing fruits that can heal wounds or mushrooms that enhance one's strength. Some creatures of the land, like large winged beasts or fire-breathing lizards, offer exotic meats that are prized for their unusual tastes and nutritional value.

The people of Akera also enjoy foods that are more specific to their world, like floating berries that can be plucked from the air, or shimmering seaweed that is said to boost one's magical abilities. The magical creatures of Akera offer more than just food they influence the way meals are prepared. For example, fire sprites can help cook meals faster, while water nymphs may flavor soups with a refreshing coolness. Beyond the ordinary meals, Akera's advanced culinary arts might include enchanted desserts that shift flavor with each bite or liquefied meals that can be consumed through spells or potions. While many of these foods might appear strange to those from Earth, they serve as an important part of Akera's culture, blending the mystical with the mundane.

Akera is a world brimming with wonders, magical powers, and endless adventure. Every land offers its own unique landscapes, cultures, and mysteries, while its people weave tales of heroism and enchantment. For anyone bold enough to step into this realm, Akera promises an unforgettable journey one filled with discovery, challenges, and the magic of the unknown.
