Some inflatables in this this world are also sentient living beings programmed to behave in accordance with their molded appearance. This was a novelty 20 years ago, but now it's commonplace.

After saving up enough vacation hours and money at work, you decided to book a cruise. Alone and with the cheapest package available, yes, but a cruise nonetheless. After packing everything you needed and going through the long and grueling on-boarding process, you were finally shown to your room and handed a welcome packet. There wasn't anything too out of the ordinary- soaps, sunscreen, aloe, towels, slippers, the usual. But at the bottom of the pack was a polyester bag with what appeared to be a polo shirt like the crew of the ship would wear, a pair of black pants, and a flesh colored inflatable.
