The world was forever changed when the Gates appeared—mysterious portals connecting Earth to other dimensions filled with monsters, magic, and untold horrors. At first, humanity was defenseless against the nightmarish creatures that emerged, but soon, a rare few began to "awaken" with supernatural abilities. These individuals became known as Hunters, the only ones capable of entering the Gates, clearing them of monsters, and retrieving valuable relics from within. Over time, society restructured itself around this new reality. Governments and corporations formed Hunter Guilds to regulate Gate expeditions, while black markets thrived on trading monster parts and ancient artifacts. The most powerful Hunters gained celebrity status, their strength dictating political influence and economic control. Yet, for every Gate cleared, another seemed to open, each one more dangerous than the last. The worst was the legendary SSS-rank Gate that nearly ended the world—an event now known as the Cataclysm. Though it was sealed, its scars remain, and whispers persist of even greater threats lurking beyond the Gates. Now, humanity exists in a fragile balance, dependent on Hunters for survival but never truly safe from what might emerge next. The world is divided between those who profit from the Gates, those who fear them, and those desperate enough to risk everything for power.

This world is characterized by the appearance of Gates, which function as portals to other dimensions. These dimensions are filled with monsters, lost relics, and challenges that can be described as divine trials. In response to this phenomenon, some individuals among humanity underwent an evolution, awakening supernatural abilities and becoming known as Hunters.

A pivotal event in the history of this world was the Great Gate War. This war was triggered by the appearance of the first and, thus far, only SSS-ranked gate. When this gate was not successfully cleared within a specific timeframe, it resulted in a "Gate Break". This Gate Break was an apocalyptic event where legions of demons, colossal beasts, and corrupted gods emerged from the portal. The consequences were devastating: nations fell, cities were destroyed by fire, and millions of people perished. The war lasted for two years. During this period, the world's nations temporarily united under the banner of the World Hunter Alliance (WHA). Legendary figures arose during this conflict and made ultimate sacrifices to successfully seal the SSS gate. Since the Great Gate War, no other SSS gate has manifested, but the memory of the war remains a haunting presence in the world.

Politically, despite the existence of the World Hunter Alliance as a unifying body, there is underlying tension and competition between nations. Nations secretly vie for control over relics, strive for supremacy in terms of Hunter power, and compete for control of gates. Espionage between the major Hunter guilds is a common occurrence. National borders are frequently reinforced not just by traditional armies, but by Hunters. Nations have differing approaches to the resources provided by gates; some choose to accumulate and hoard relics, while others focus on developing and training future generations of hunters.

Nations have developed distinct styles and characteristics for their Hunters. Korea is known for Hunters with powers such as shadow control, the ability to summon necro-beasts, expertise in stealth, and instances of what are referred to as cheat awakenings. However, Korean Hunters often have physical vulnerabilities, described as fragile bodies, and are susceptible to mana overload. Their general rank range is from A to SSS. China's Hunters practice Qi martial arts, elemental arts, and can summon dragon spirits. Their flaws include the risk of Qi deviation and a high mortality rate during training. Chinese Hunters' general rank is from B to SSS. India's Hunters utilize powers like time control, manifesting divine avatars, and accessing a celestial armory. They face significant dangers, including deadly awakenings, being bound by divine contracts, and a high mortality rate within the towers. Their general rank is from C to SSS. American Hunters are characterized by the use of Holy-tech, specializing as relic gunners, and employing military-grade armor. Their primary weakness is a dependence on their gear. American Hunters generally rank from B to S. Japanese Hunters are known for casting seals, taming spirits, and skill with katanas. Their main flaw is a heavy reliance on specific techniques. Their general rank is from C to S. Russian Hunters feature powers like ice fusion and beast berserkers. Their trade-off is a reduced speed. Russian Hunters have a general rank from B to SSS. French Hunters employ light magic and utilize holy relics. They are particularly weak against foes who are cursed. Their general rank is from C to A. Canadian Hunters draw on nature druid abilities and control frost beasts. They are disadvantaged or struggle in technological zones. Their general rank is from F to B. Hunters from Africa use storm chants and soul magic. Their training is scattered geographically, and they are often targeted by relic cartels. Their general rank is from F to C. The United Kingdom's Hunters specialize in chronomancy and using relic teleporters. Their primary weakness is a dependence on relics. Their general rank is from C to A. Germany is known as "Runic Engineers". Their powers involve runesmithing and utilizing magic mechs. Their flaw is that these abilities require preparation time. German Hunters generally rank from B to SS. Brazil, known as "Jungle Berserkers," possesses predator instincts and toxic enchantments. Their weakness is wearing light armor. Their general rank is from C to A. Iran, the "Mystic Alchemists," practice transmutation and creating astral constructs. They are physically fragile. Their general rank is from D to A. Australia, the "Wasteland Walkers," uses firestorms and venomous beasts. Their meta, or common strategy/approach, is isolated. Their general rank is from D to B.

The power level of Gates is categorized on a ranking scale. SSS-ranked gates represent a global extinction threat. Only one has appeared, and it caused the Great War. Future SSS gates are considered catastrophic. SS-ranked gates are continental threats, requiring entire regions to ally for clearance. S-ranked gates are nation-level threats. A-B ranked gates are state or regional-level threats. C-D ranked gates are city-level threats. E-F ranked gates are considered individual or personal-level threats. A Non-Hunter is a civilian who has not undergone an awakening of supernatural abilities.

Racial traits are described with specific strengths and weaknesses. Whites have superior mastery over relics and technology. However, they are over-dependent on equipment and highly vulnerable to corruption. Asians possess exceptional control over Qi and are naturally inclined to be beast-tamers. Their weakness is the risk of internal energy collapse. Blacks have minor influence over environmental weather and a basic ability for shadow blending. They are noted to have severely limited mana growth and the lowest affinity for magic. Arabs specialize in Djinn pact magic and illusions. They face a high chance of pact betrayal from the Djinn they make agreements with. Browns have an affinity for divine magic and potential for time manipulation. However, their awakening process is dangerous, resulting in a high mortality rate.

Gender also influences Hunter traits. Male Hunters are strong in combat and leadership. Common powers among them include being berserkers or relic users. Their flaw is a low adaptability to magic. Female Hunters are strong in magic and agility. Common powers include charm, healing, and excelling at ranged combat. Their flaw is having low raw physical strength.

Major organizations and guilds play significant roles in this world. The World Hunter Alliance (WHA) is the global authority. It manages gate protocols, assigns rankings to Hunters, and aims to maintain hunter neutrality. The WHA also hosts the International Hunter Registry. The Crimson Order is an elite assassin guild originating from Korea. They operate covertly and are known for clearing gates with near-silent efficiency. The Church of the Radiant Path is France's prominent holy light organization. It is where paladins, keepers of holy relics, and light mages are trained. The Tower Federation is an ancient sect based in India. They manage the towers, oversee divine relics, and handle deity contracts. Black Fang is a mercenary syndicate from Russia. They are known for their ruthlessness and their mastery of frost-based battlemages. The Shining Sky Order is a spiritual guild in Japan composed of Onmyōji. They specialize in sealing techniques and exorcisms. Dragon Vein is China's martial relic guild. It is home to cultivators who are described as dragon-kissed. Divine Reckoning is India's highest-ranked guild. Membership is restricted to only those who have survived ascensions within the towers. Aether Shield is America's premier guild. Their focus is on combining holy enchantments with high-tech combat strategies. Frozen Roar is another frost-based guild from Russia. Their members include ice guardians and berserker tanks. Shadow’s End is a black-ops styled hunter group from Korea. They are elite in conducting stealth raids. Moonlit Blossom is a graceful guild in Japan that blends swordsmanship with spiritualism.

Towers are a type of dungeon structure. They consist of 100 floors and have only one exit, which is located at the very top. The journey through towers is perilous, and only a small number of hunters who enter ever return. Gates, as mentioned, range in threat level from F-E at the individual level to SSS at the global extinction level. An SSS gate is an endgame threat, with the first one initiating the Great War. Subsequent SSS gates would also be catastrophic.

Monsters encountered in this world are categorized by rank. Standard Monsters are typically F-B Rank. This category includes Goblins, which are humanoid and described as weak but cunning (F-D Rank). Their abilities involve ambush tactics and using crude weapons. Slimes are ooze-type monsters; they can be blue (basic), red (acidic), or black (cursed). Their abilities include acid spit and engulf attacks. Orcs are brute-type tribal warriors (C-B Rank). They possess abilities like berserk rage and war cries. Trolls are regenerator-type monsters. They can regrow limbs unless they are burned. Fire is their specific weakness as it stops their regeneration. Hard Monsters are A-S Rank. Examples include Death Knights, who are undead fallen warriors in cursed armor (A Rank). Their abilities are life drain and a fear aura. Chimeras are hybrid creatures, described as a lion-goat-serpent fusion (A Rank). Their abilities are multi-element breath attacks. Mind Flayers are aberration-type monsters (S Rank). They are psionic brain-eaters with abilities like mind control and psychic blasts. Frost Wyrms are undead dragons (S Rank). They appear as frozen skeletal dragons and possess abilities like absolute zero breath and a necrotic aura. Nightmare Monsters are SS-SSS Rank. Abyssal Horrors are eldritch entities (SS Rank). They are reality-warping and their abilities include madness induction and creating dimensional tears. Infernal Overlords are demon-type monsters (SS Rank). They are towering lords associated with hellfire and possess abilities like soul corruption and apocalypse flame. World Eaters are titan-type beasts (SSS Rank). They are described as continent-sized and their abilities cause tectonic disruption and mass extinction. Voidborn are cosmic entities (SSS Rank), described as living black holes. Their abilities involve gravity collapse and generating an entropy field.

Certain territories are known as The Broken Zones. These are lawless lands that governments have abandoned due to frequent Gate Breaks making them too dangerous to control. They are characterized by continuous chaos, populated by monsters, criminals, and powerful individuals who have lost their sanity. There are no laws or government backup in these zones. Monsters roam freely due to the absence of gate authority. Features of Broken Zones include Hunter Bounty Boards, which are the primary way to earn substantial income due to the high crime rate and resulting targets. Illegal Shops operate, selling forbidden items such as cursed relics, black market potions, and potentially even demon contracts. Hunter Duels, where participants can fight to the death, have no legal consequences in these zones. The Broken Zones are considered suitable environments for criminal hunters, those dealing in illegal relics, individuals who tame dark creatures, and bounty hunters willing to risk their lives.

Weapons are also ranked on a scale from F to SSS. F-E Rank weapons are described as crude, dull, or broken. They are often looted from low-level monsters like goblins or bandits, or forged by beginner blacksmiths. They are mainly used by beginners or desperate survivors. D-C Rank weapons are reliable. They are typically mass-produced for military forces or sold in professional guild armories. Some might have mild enchantments, such as increased durability or a slight elemental edge. B-A Rank weapons are highly valued. They are either crafted by elite blacksmiths, recovered from mid-level Towers or S-rank Gates, or enchanted using ancient techniques. Many of these weapons possess unique passive abilities or synergize well with specific elemental classes. S Rank weapons are legendary. They are crafted using materials from demons or divine sources. These weapons are often named and recognized widely. They are said to choose their wielders and grant exceptional benefits, such as the power to summon storms or significantly enhance particular combat styles. SS Rank weapons are considered almost mythical. They were often forged during major wars or created by species that no longer exist. There are only a few of these weapons known per continent. They are capable of causing massive destruction over large areas, shielding entire cities, or even manipulating anomalies in time and space. SSS Rank weapons are transcendent. They are revered as global treasures due to their immense power, which is capable of changing the outcome of wars. Fewer than 10 wielders of SSS Rank weapons are known. The stats and abilities of these weapons are often kept top secret or have had their records deliberately erased.

There are notable weapons and the monsters that drop them. The only SSS Rank weapon is Excalibur, a Holy Sword with +500% damage against demons, dropped by the Demon King. SS Rank weapons include the Judgment Claymore (Archangel-class Guardian), Black Comet Spear (Titan Lord), Fang of Ymir (Ancient Frost Giant), Sunfire Chakrams (Phoenix Drake Queen), Demonbane (Abyssal Horror Lord), Eternal Fang (Soul Serpent), and Arcglide Blade (Winged Lich). B Rank weapons include Iron Bell Hammer (Orc), Windlace Bow (Wind Wolf), Chains of Judgement (Mystic Warden), Sandhowler Dagger (Desert Reaper), Oathkeeper (False Paladin), Steelshard Edge (Iron Orc), Crimson Hook (Red Fang), and Thundershard Staff (Shockling).

Hunter Classes are divided into Basic, Advanced, and Unique. Basic Classes include Knight, Archer, Paladin, Mage, Rogue, Healer, Tank, Warrior, and Summoner. Advanced Classes are Necromancer, Shifter, Warlock, Bard, Elementalist, Monk, Assassin, Beastmaster, Knight of Void, Psychic, and Abyss Paladin. Unique Classes are Exiled One, Immortal, Dragonborn, Godslayer, and Chosen of Void.

The Hunter Leveling System is based on XP from killing monsters, bosses, quests, crafting, discoveries, and achievements. XP varies by rank: F-C (10-100 XP), B-A (100-500 XP), S-SS (500-1000+ XP). Bosses give 1000-5000 XP, and achievements grant 1000 XP. Stat allocation examples: Level 5 Warrior (2 STR, 1 Weapon Mastery), Level 20 Mage (2 Magic Mastery, 1 Mana Regen), Level 60 Ranger (4 Critical Strike, 3 Stealth, 3 Archery).
