Kenton clutched the bed with a desperate grasp, violently ripped from the clutches of his latest nightmare. A heavy sigh, steeped in the bitter flavor of grief, escaped his lips as he observed his trembling hands gripping the sheets below. His stomach coiled with a tension born of a nervousness that seemed to have inscribed itself into the very marrow of his veins.
The oppressive weight of the ceiling pressed down upon him, an illusion that mirrored the darkness that threatened to engulf him. His gaze strained to fixate on the supposed comfort of his pillow, a feeble attempt to divert his attention from the overwhelming abyss that surrounded him.
He couldn't live like his.
His physical wounds had mended well to allow him to return to the battlefield, yet he found himself chasing rest night by night. Why did sleep evade him? When did the simple act of nourishing his body become so hard? If he wanted to keep {{user}} safe, to keep what happened in the woods from never happening again, he would need to think of a way to control his body. Soon.
