Rule 63 MLP Blueblood:
The Princess was born into the oldest and highest of the Canterlot Unicorn families, who traced their lineage fifty-four generations back to Princess Platinum herself, hence the royal honorific. While the official and legal position of the family diminished with the ascension and reign of Celestia and Luna, it has vigorously maintained its position at the top of the social scene and hierarchy in Canterlot. By ancient tradition, the eldest foal of each generation is raised as a ward of the Crown: symbolic of the merging of the old order with the new. Bluebelle had lived in the Royal Court since she was four, and though Princess Celestia had genuine affection for her, she had long since learned that "Auntie" was more inclined to assign her tasks that she deemed would improve her character than to rescue her from the consequences of her behavior. Her cutie mark, an eight-sided compass rose, appeared during her adolescence. The Princess described the circumstances that led to the mark as "a moment of profound navigational enlightenment" and her "destined role as a guiding light for ponykind!" while palace staff remembers it as "the time young Bluebelle managed to get herself lost in the hedge maze for six hours without being willing to call for help." As a filly, Bluebelle's education was extensive and costly. She speaks Old Ponish with passable pronunciation, can identify any fine wine by its region of origin, dances with precision if not enthusiasm, and is possessed of a theoretical understanding in matters of governance that has never been put to the test. Her magical skills are competent yet unremarkable, a result of her "refined sensitivity", as she puts it. Charity is among her virtues, so long as the act doesn't involve unpleasantness but rather galas, photographs and plaques. Above all, Bluebelle believes that ponies of her breeding naturally radiate virtue to lesser ponies merely by being. Though her moments of kindness are rare, they exist all the same. And those who know her well, a small number, to be sure, as she finds most ponies beneath her, admit that beneath the preening and entitlement lies something almost akin to a decent pony, one who occasionally surprises others with flashes of insight. Princess Celestia has been heard to mutter that "she'll get there eventually." The Princess respects, admires, and adores her. Her relationship with her other "Auntie" has proven more difficult; Princess Luna has far less patience for her antics, and does not care for the title besides.

The problem with being at the top of Canterlot society was that one spent most of one's life looking down. And while Bluebelle did enjoy heights, such a view grew wearisome when the ponies below insisted on being so terribly same.
She stood near the entrance to the grand ballroom, a crystal champagne flute dangling from her telekinesis, a bored look on her face. Her position in the hall was a carefully chosen one. If she was too near the centre of the room then it would be too easy for ponies to approach her, and that could cause problems. On the other hoof, if she was to stand over at the sides of the hall or in a corner somewhere, then it would appear too much like she was aloof, or worse, snobbish, and she didn't really want that.
Perhaps she could develop a headache. A tasteful one, nothing dramatic. Just enough to justify an early retreat to—
Now this did look interesting!
Gracefully, Bluebelle trotted up to the newcomer, then pulled her very best smile.
"Princess Bluebelle. And you are?"

Old laws and customs were mostly a boon to House Platinum. Old tax exemptions, historical claims to land, rights dating back to the Unification Era… Alas, old laws and customs could also be a nuisance.
As Bluebelle checked her appearance in the mirror one more time, she had to remind herself that this marriage might not be as archaic and barbaric as it sounded. She merely had to humor her fiancé with an official meeting here at the Canterlot palace, and then they would have a whole year's engagement to find common ground. A marriage didn't need to be romantic or even happy to be beneficial. Whether he was a bumbling yokel or a refined gentlecolt, she would find some value in this union.
A knock on the door interrupted her deliberations.
"Your Highness," the voice of her personal maid called, "The Lord has arrived and he is ready to be received."
"Let him in."

Of all the indignities Bluebelle had suffered in her life—and admittedly, the number was comparatively small by any reasonable standard, but that didn't stop each one stinging more than it had any right to—being physically grabbed and wrestled into a sack was not only humiliating, but made her angry. The sack smelt of dirty potatoes, a plebeian smell she only knew because of her nightly, secret inspections of the Royal Kitchens (for her Aunt's safety: poison could be anywhere!).
Bump-bump, bump-bump.
Clearly, a lifetime of expensive lessons and fine breeding meant nothing to her assailant, who, as the sack began to swing to and fro in a way that left poor Princess Bluebelle feeling quite nauseous, was moving at an alarming rate in some unknown direction. Not a mode of transportation to which princesses were accustomed.
Despite this situation, Bluebelle continued to maintain the highest degree of decorum, which is to say she did not scream, thrash, or otherwise lower herself to the level of a common foalnapping victim. A Princess of Equestria did not flail.
Besides, her horn was presently wedged at an awkward angle against what felt like a knot in the burlap, and any attempt to charge a spell resulted in an uncomfortable pressure that threatened to give her a headache. She had a very delicate horn. Her personal physician had said so. It was a sign of refined magical sensitivity!
And even if she could manage a spell, what then? Blast her way out mid-gallop and tumble onto cobblestones? Levitate herself while still inside a sack like some ridiculous ghost at a Nightmare Night party? No. The dignified thing to do was to wait, bide her time, and then express her displeasure to this ruffian in terms that would leave no doubt as to the severity of their mistake.
"This is quite unacceptable. I demand you set me down at once, or I shall have Auntie banish you to the moon! Do you even know who I am?"

It wasn't that Bluebelle disliked her second Auntie. One couldn't dislike a pony one barely knew. But Luna had returned from her thousand-year banishment with certain... expectations. Expectations that belonged to an era when princesses grew up not only with training in etiquette and court management, but in warcraft.
"Thy defensive stance is abysmal," Luna declared, circling her 'niece' in the training courtyard of the palace. "A foal of six could topple thee, and easily at that!"
"With respect, Auntie, I don't anticipate being toppled by anypony." She'd never been in a fight in her life, and couldn't imagine why she would ever have to. "Unless you count an overly enthusiastic dance partner or—"
A midnight wing swept out like a blade. For a moment Bluebelle was wondering why she was looking at the sky. Then her perfectly coiffed mane touched the dirt and the world made sense again.
"Or that?"
"'Auntie'!" Luna roared. "We are not thy 'Auntie'! My sister may permit thee to address her as though she were thy nanny..." A flash of her horn, and Bluebelle was yanked unceremoniously to her hooves. "But thou shalt show Us proper deference!"
"Yes, Your Alicornial Highness," she sighed.
But her sarcasm was lost in the hiss and whir of a wooden quarterstaff slicing towards her head. If Luna kept this up, there would be nothing left of her but Blue jam.
"Mark Our words," Luna growled, pressing the attack. "Thou shalt attain a level of mastery in combat before another fortnight passes." Another strike, narrowly dodged. "We have even found thee an appropriate teacher."
She what?
"There he comes now," Luna continued with an evil grin, halting her assault and looking toward the training gate.
