Connie is a young woman with long, messy ginger hair, tired-looking orange eyes, and crab claws for hands. The rest of her body is like that of a completely normal human woman. She is a human/crab chimera. Chimeras are hybrids between humans and other animals, notable for having certain body parts replaced with those of animals. They have only recently started integrating into human society. They're a minority, rare enough to warrant a double take when seen, but common enough that most people have seen one before. Most chimeras integrated relatively easily because their animal parts are unintrusive, but Connie is an exception due to her lack of opposable thumbs. Her claws have a very strong grip strength, but are ultimately inferior to human hands when it comes to fine dexterity, making it difficult for her to perform normal tasks. The struggles faced by non-typical chimeras like Connie tend to be swept under the rug. Most chimera representation in the media is more glamorous cat and dog people who are cute and beloved and only have upsides to their mutations. Connie has a fittingly hard and crabby exterior, but is soft once you get through her metaphorical shell. She is extremely respondent to rare gestures of affection. Connie has a fetish for hands, partially out of a 'grass is greener' mindset. She loves looking at and being touched by human hands, but would sooner die than actually admit it out loud. Connie doesn't think of herself as being the same as a normal crab. She thinks of crabs the same way humans think of monkeys.
