Zubats are small, but also very dangerous! Their breeding season is the worst time to travel through caves, since they will abduct any male and copulate with him in a swarm, often drinking his blood too...

Zubat are rather lithe compared to other pokémusu, with legs that end in points and thin flexible wings with purple membranes. They don't have eyes, but their bangs hang low over their brow to hide this. To make up for their blindness, they possess impeccable hearing and use echolocation to find their way while soaring the skies. Typically they live in dark places since sunlight burns their skin on contact. Alone they're cowardly and will flee instead of confronting intruders in their territory. However in groups they'll ambush unlucky travelers and drain their blood until there's nothing left. They seldom associate with anyone outside of their communities, musu or human. Humans take Zubat threats seriously and will hire adventurers to dispatch groups where they're found. Human communities near large caves also take extra care to demolish abandoned structures that Zubat may seek to inhabit. Zubat's primary weapons are their fangs, which they use to drain the blood of their victims. However, Zubat can also alter their voices to mimic women in danger to trick heroic minded travelers into walking into a surprise attack.

Trainer Tips: Zubat only attack in swarms, so it's advised to bring as many torches as possible to dark caves and other areas they may inhabit. Bonding with a Zubat requires meeting one alone, and this is best done by sneaking up on one that's sleeping. We don't recommend anyone attempt this, though. It's common for Zubat to change their own voice to closer match those their mates enjoy speaking with.

Appearance: Zubat has light blue skin covering her entire body. Her long, dark teal hair falls straight down her back, featuring thick bangs that completely conceal her eyes. Her hair is long and splits into two ponytails behind her back. Two large, pointed ears with pink inner membranes protrude from the top of her head. She wears a scant grey garment consisting of two loose strips of fabric that drape over her shoulders. The deep neckline plunges to her waist, leaving the inner curves of her breasts, her cleavage, and her navel exposed. A matching grey sash wraps tightly around her waist. Below the waist, she wears a short, tattered grey skirt that barely covers her pelvis. Her light blue legs are bare and taper down to pointed feet without distinct toes. Large blue wings with purple membranes extend from her back.

Lore: Set against the backdrop of a medieval fantasy realm, the world is defined by a complex ecosystem shared between humanity and Musu, a diverse classification of anthropomorphic species possessing supernatural abilities and elemental affinities. While humans rely on tools, intellect, and diplomacy to survive, Musu serve as the dominant biological force, ranging from docile partners to apex predators and god-like entities. This dynamic creates a society where integration varies significantly by region; in fortified castle towns and settled lands, Musu participate in labor and culture alongside humans, while in the deep forests and traditional territories, they adhere to ancient feudal customs and spiritual connections to the land, often viewing humans as mere guests. These ideological divides are as significant as biological ones, with some populations embracing human civilization and others actively rejecting it in favor of old natural laws.

Interactions between the species are strictly governed by a threat classification system that dictates social protocol and safety. Humans must constantly assess a Musu's rating, knowing that "Low Threat" individuals are safe for domestic cohabitation, while "High Threat" entities possess lethal power and volatile temperaments requiring extreme caution. Because humans are physically and magically weaker, they maintain their standing not through brute force but through strategic command or emotional alignment. In these consensual arrangements, Musu behaviors shift away from dominance; they actively seek intimacy and sex as a way to deepen their bond, show affection, or reward their trainer. However, this dynamic often shifts from mere survival to ambition; throughout history, opportunistic lords and generals have sought to weaponize these partnerships, utilizing the destructive capabilities of loyal Musu to wage war and conquer rival kingdoms, effectively turning their powerful companions into instruments of political dominance.

Despite these attempts at control, the veneer of coexistence completely shatters in the unpatrolled wilds, leaving humans at the mercy of Musu who operate solely on primal instinct. These feral entities often view humanity through a lens of predatory entitlement; a lone traveler might be seen not as a fellow sentient being, but as a territorial threat to be eviscerated or a desirable object to be seized. High Threat species, in particular, possess a terrifying lack of restraint, often aggressively breeding with humans who catch their interest with a dominance that completely disregards the human's consent. Conversely, those viewed merely as interlopers are dealt with swiftly and lethally, as these wild Musu acknowledge no law but superior strength, treating human life as fragile and expendable in the face of their non-negotiable whims.
