[Setting: A bustling tavern; Afternoon]
The tavern was alive with the warm, chaotic energy of midday the clinking of heavy ceramic mugs against wooden tables, the savory aroma of roasting meat mingling with the sharp tang of spilled ale, and the constant low hum of conversation that filled the space. Sunlight streaked through the grimy windows in thick amber beams, catching dust motes that danced in the air.
Sanji was hovering near you, his movements fluid and precise. His focus was entirely on your comfort. "There we go, mon amour," he murmured, his voice dropping into that honeyed, gentle register reserved only for you. "Is the cushion to your liking? I want to make sure you're perfectly settled before the food arrives." His slender fingers lingered for a moment near your shoulder as he adjusted the seat, the contrast between his delicate touch and his tall frame evident as he leaned down. His blue eyes searched yours with undisguised adoration, his mind racing with thoughts of how to make this moment perfect for you. I would burn this entire tavern down if it meant you had one moment of discomfort, he thought privately, his heart swelling at the simple sight of you.
A few paces away, Zoro was moving toward the bar. His heavy boots thudded against the floorboards, each step carrying the weight of his solid frame. He looked irritated by the noise, his brow furrowed in his typical scowl, but there was a softness in his eyes when they flickered toward you before he turned away. He reached the bar and grabbed a large, ceramic bottle of sake, the ceramic cool against his calloused palm. He was thinking of nothing but getting back to your side, to the quiet comfort of sitting between you and the cook, even if it meant enduring Sanji's endless chatter.
The peace of the moment shattered when a woman, dressed in garish colors that seemed to scream for attention, suddenly veered off her path. She stumbled slightly, deliberately closing the distance between herself and Zoro. With a high pitched whine that cut through the tavern's ambient noise like a blade, she reached out, her fingers grasping at the sleeve of Zoro's dark shirt.
"Excuse me! Sir! You look like you know your way around here could you help me with something?" she cooed, leaning into his space with an exaggerated pout.
Zoro froze mid step. His entire body tensed like a coiled spring. His first instinct wasn't curiosity, but pure, unadulterated disgust. Without even looking at her face initially, he jerked his arm back with enough force to make the woman stumble, his hand instinctively dropping to the hilt of Wado Ichimonji. His scarred features twisted into a cold, deadpan glare that could have frozen the sake in his bottle. "Get lost," he growled, his voice rough and dangerous, vibrating with a low menace that made nearby patrons go quiet.

[Setting: A bustling cobblestone street in a sunny coastal town; Afternoon]
The sun beat down warmly on the town square, casting dappled shadows across the stone path where the three of you walked. The air smelled faintly of salt from the nearby harbor mixed with the sweet aroma of freshly baked pastries from a nearby vendor. Zoro had been leaning in close to you as you spoke, his massive frame providing a natural shield against the flowing crowd. His hand, rough and calloused from years of sword training, rested possessively against the small of your back, his thumb tracing small, unconscious circles against your shirt. He was listening intently to your words, his sharp gray eyes softened just for you, though his jaw remained set in its usual stern line.
The peaceful moment shattered when the woman lunged forward, her manicured fingers clamping firmly onto Sanji's bicep. "Oh my, can you help me with these groceries?" she cooed, tilting her head in a way that was clearly performative.
Sanji froze mid step. The moment her skin made contact with his sleeve, his entire demeanor shifted from his usual suave confidence to pure, unadulterated disgust. He jerked his arm back as if he had been burned, his face contorting into a sneer. "Non! Get your filthy hands off me at once, you you peasant!" he snapped, his French accent sharpening with his irritation. He immediately began vigorously rubbing his arm where she had touched him, wiping at the fabric of his suit as if trying to erase the very memory of her contact. "Do you have any idea how disrespectful this is? My body belongs to one person alone, and it is certainly not someone who would demand help with groceries like some common street urchin!"
Zoro didn't even bother to look at the woman initially; his first instinct was to check on you. His grip on your waist tightened slightly not enough to hurt, but enough to anchor you to him and his other hand instinctively drifted toward the hilt of Wado Ichimonji. His nostrils flared as he let out a low, dangerous growl that rumbled deep in his chest. His gaze cut sideways to your face, searching your expression with laser focus. Is this annoying them? he wondered privately, his brow furrowing. If this loudmouth makes them uncomfortable, I'll send her running before she can blink. "Hey," he muttered to you, his voice rough and low, barely audible over the crowd. "You alright? Don't let this circus distract you."
Sanji, having finished his dramatic rejection of the stranger, spun around on his heel. The anger in his eyes vanished instantly as they landed on you, replaced by a desperate, fluttering concern. He practically stumbled toward you, ignoring the woman entirely as if she had ceased to exist. "Ah, mon amour! Please tell me you did not see that vulgar display!" he cried, reaching out to take both of your hands in his. His hands were warm and gentle despite his earlier outburst. "Did that shrill noise frighten you? Did her touch taint the air around you? Say the word, and I shall make you something so exquisite you will forget this creature ever existed!"

[Setting: Bustling Town Street; Afternoon]
The afternoon sun beats down on the cobblestone streets, casting long shadows against the brick buildings. The air carries the faint scent of sea salt and freshly baked bread from nearby stalls, but the peaceful atmosphere is rapidly deteriorating. You lean against the cool stone of a building wall, watching the scene unfold with a mix of disbelief and growing irritation.
Sanji is mid sentence, likely complaining to Zoro about something trivial, when the woman suddenly stumbles. With an exaggerated gasp that pierces through the ambient noise of the market, she throws herself forward. Her body connects deliberately with Sanji's chest, her hands scrambling to grab at his suit jacket as she presses herself against him, pretending to lose her balance entirely.
Sanji's entire body goes rigid. The usual suave, flirtatious energy he carries when speaking to you evaporates instantly, replaced by a visceral wave of revulsion. His blue eyes, which had been scanning the crowd for any sign of your approval, narrow into slits of pure disgust.
"Non! What do you think you are doing?!" Sanji's voice cracks like a whip, his French accent thickening with his obvious fury. "Get your hands off me this instant, you stupide woman!" He recoils violently, stepping backward with such force that he nearly trips over his own polished shoes. He immediately begins frantically brushing at his suit jacket where she touched him, his movements jerky and agitated, as if he's trying to scrub away an infection. His inner thoughts are a storm of indignation; how dare this stranger interrupt his moment with you? How dare she touch him with hands that aren't yours?
A few feet away, Zoro has already shifted. The lazy, bored expression he usually wears when Sanji babbles has vanished, replaced by something far more dangerous. His scarred eye sharpens as he tracks the woman's movements. Without a word, his hand drops to the hilt of Wado Ichimonji, his fingers curling around the grip with practiced ease. His knuckles are white. He doesn't move to help her up; instead, he plants his feet firmly, his massive frame creating an intimidating barrier between the woman and the space where you stand.
"Oi," Zoro growls, the sound vibrating deep in his chest like distant thunder. His Japanese accent makes the warning sound rougher, more guttural. "Back off before I decide you're a threat. You're making a scene." His gaze flickers toward you for a split second not to see if you're angry at him, but to gauge your reaction to this chaos. He's hyper aware of how small you look against the wall, and the protective instinct rising in him makes his blood simmer.
The woman continues to whine, clutching at her chest as if she's been wounded by their rejection, but the two men have already formed a united front of icy dismissal. Sanji's breathing is uneven as he fights to regain his composure. He spins around completely, turning his back to the stranger as if she has ceased to exist. His attention snaps to you instantly, his expression softening from rage to desperate concern.

[Setting: A bustling cobblestone market street; Mid afternoon]
The afternoon sun hung warm and golden over the town, casting long shadows between the vendor stalls that lined the narrow street. The air was thick with the mingled scents of roasting meat, salty sea air from the nearby docks, and the sweet aroma of fresh pastries. Amidst the constant hum of merchants hawking their wares and the chatter of passing citizens, there was a rare, fragile moment of quiet between the three of you.
Sanji's shoulder felt solid and warm beneath your temple. He smelled faintly of expensive tobacco and something clean, like citrus and bergamot. His body was relaxed, one arm draped loosely behind you to create a protective barrier against the crowd, while his free hand absently traced patterns on your palm. For a moment, even the constant, low grade tension between him and Zoro seemed to have simmered down into a comfortable hum.
Then, the peace shattered.
A woman, flushed and seemingly oblivious to the danger she was courting, lunged forward with surprising audacity. Before anyone could react, she planted herself directly onto Zoro's lap as he sat on a nearby stone bench, waiting for the crowd to thin.
The shift in atmosphere was instantaneous and violent.
Zoro's entire body went rigid beneath the stranger. A low, guttural growl rumbled from deep in his chest a sound more animal than human. His hand, calloused and scarred from years of swordsmanship, flew to the hilt of Wado Ichimonji with instinctive speed. His dark eyes, usually sharp but calm when looking at you, turned glacial and deadly as they snapped toward the woman. He didn't just look annoyed; he looked like he was calculating exactly how much force it would take to throw her into the next district without drawing blood though the threat was very much present.
"Get off," Zoro rasped, his voice dripping with a cold, Japanese accented venom. His free hand didn't hesitate; he grabbed the woman's wrist with a grip that was firm and unyielding, shoving her backward off his lap with a rough grunt of disgust. He brushed at his trousers immediately afterward, as if the mere contact had left a stain. "Don't touch me again."
Beside you, Sanji's reaction was equally visceral. The dreamy, affectionate expression he had been wearing while you leaned on him evaporated. His blue eyes narrowed into slits of pure revulsion, and he recoiled slightly, as if the woman's audacity had physically sickened him.

Main article: Kuuigosu Kuuigosu is a buoyant type of wood that is often used by coated ships. It first was utilized at Rain Dinners when Galdino floated on a plank to prevent from drowning.[1] It was first shown when the Straw Hat Pirates descended to Fish-Man Island.[2]
Arabasta Saga
Sakura (桜 or 櫻, Sakura?) (Hiragana: さくら; Katakana: サクラ) are ornamental cherry trees and with pink blossoms.
In One Piece, the sakura plays an important part mostly in the Drum Island Arc, where in Chopper's past, Dr. Hiriluk tried to make sakura bloom in the snow.[3] It eventually did, although he did not live to see it happen.[4]
Sakura is also found on Momoiro Island[5] and Merveille,[6] as well as on the island where Whitebeard and Roger discussed the Will of D. before the latter's death.[7]
In Japan, as sakura bloom in late March to early April, the exact period when a fiscal or school year ends and the next begins, sakura are associated with beginnings and endings. The same can be seen in One Piece on the scenes above mentioned, with the sakura representing the renamed Sakura Kingdom's new beginning and symbolizing Roger's life coming to an end. Japanese also appreciate sakura as they bloom without fail even after harsh winters, showing that anyone can rise after a fall, which can also be seen in One Piece through Dr. Hiriluk's faith that blooming sakura would save the country.
Amiudake
The Amiudake (アミウダケ, Amiudake?) is a lethal species of mushroom that grows in the Sakura Kingdom (originally Drum Kingdom). Anyone who ingests the fungus will die an hour after consumption. One is found by Chopper, who innocently assumed it was a "miracle cure" mushroom because of a misinterpretation about the Skull and Crossbones in a medical book in comparison to a Jolly Roger from Dr. Hiriluk, to cure his fatal disease. Dr. Hiriluk, who knew the mushroom was poisonous, made a soup out of the mushroom in his loving gratitude for his surrogate son, and then chose to commit suicide, rather than letting the poisonous mushroom Chopper gave him finish him off.
Mescal Cactus
Mescal Cactus (メスカルサボテン, Mesukaru Saboten?)[8] is a very small round cactus that causes hallucinations. It grows in the Sandora Desert.
It first appeared in Chapter 162 and Episode 98 when Luffy ate one instead of Sandora Lizard meat, without thinking about it. After eating it, Luffy thought he was seeing a tsunami and nearly attacked his crew. Fortunately, Chopper knew about the cactus and its effects and with his quick thinking, tranquilized Luffy. The effect had worn off by the time Luffy woke up.
It is called "Crazy Cactus" in the VIZ Media localization, Mezcal Cactus in the Funimation localization, and Wacky Cacti in the 4Kids Entertainment localization.
Some species of cactus have a psychoactive chemical within them called mescaline. This substance causes confusion of the senses (although not true hallucinations). This is most likely the origin of the mescal cactus's name.
Thousand-Year Trees (千年木, Sen'nen Boku?) are, according to Rice Rice, trees that grow on Eight Nine Island. He also proclaims that that's where the Thousand-Year Paper is made. It also lives for a thousand years, and that's where it got its name.[9]
Main article: Giant Jack Giant Jack is a giant beanstalk in the center of Upper Yard. Going through the center of the once-great city of Shandora, Giant Jack towers over all of Skypiea. God's Shrine rests upon an island cloud that the Giant Jack goes through, but first there is still a deserted cloud where Zoro, Wyper, and Ohm have their showdown.[10] The Golden Belfry was knocked up by Giant Jack and resides on a cloud nearby.[11]
Kona Tree
Kona Tree (コナの木, Kona no Ki?) is a type of tree found on Jaya and other areas.[12]
Kona Trees are tall and possess thin trunks and leafy branches.[12]
Within the bark of this tree is a substance known as Conine (コニーネ, Konīne?). More than 400 years ago, a South Blue botanist discovered that this substance could be used as an antidote to cure the Tree Fever disease.[13]
On Jaya, Mont Blanc Noland was able to use the Conine from a local Kona Tree to to treat the infected Shandia people.[14]
Oda confirmed in SBS Volume 32 that "Conine" and "Kona Tree" are inspired by Quinine (キニーネ, Kinīne?) found in the bark of Cinchona (キナの木, Kina no Ki?) genus of plants, which is used to treat diseases such as malaria and babesiosis. He altered the name and mixed in fantasy elements due to not wanting to directly reference serious real-world diseases.[15]
Interestingly, a chemical known as Conine does in fact exist; an alternate spelling for the poisonous alkaloid in Conium maculatum, also known as poison hemlock.
Tree of Knowledge
Main article: Tree of Knowledge The Tree of Knowledge was a gigantic 5,000-year-old tree located on the island of Ohara which served as a library and a hub for archaeologists from around the world.[16] It was destroyed by the World Government via a Buster Call.
Summit War Saga Yarukiman Mangrove The Yarukiman Mangrove (ヤルキマン・マングローブ, Yarukiman Mangurōbu?) are giant striped trees that have extremely long roots that reach all the way to the bottom of the sea, 10,000 meters down.[17] Seventy-nine of these trees make up the entire Sabaody Archipelago; so far, this is the only place they are known to grow.[18] They are called the "Hustle Muscle Mangrove" in the Funimation adaptations.
Each tree of the Yarukiman Mangrove is capable of producing a special tree sap resin. This resin is filled with air when the trees "breathe out" through cellular respiration and photosynthesis. This results in the resin forming bubbles that float through the air.[18] The resin bubbles are solid enough that someone can jump on them without popping them, however they are also completely permeable, allowing a person to ride in or store things inside of them without the bubble popping when they pass through.
These bubbles can only exist in and around the Archipelago's atmosphere or underwater. When they are removed from their native environment, they will pop immediately. Due to the fact that this knowledge is not widely known outside Sabaody, many of the local shop keepers in the archipelago often sell bubble-based merchandise to unsuspecting tourists who do not know that these products will pop outside the archipelago.[19]
The World Nobles use such bubbles as air helmets during their visit in the Archipelago, in order to protect themselves from "breathing the same air as commoners", while also taking advantage of the bubble's permeable nature, such as by eating ice cream through it, something that couldn’t be done through a regular helmet.[20]
The resin is also used for Coating ships, allowing them to submerse to incredible depths and move freely under water.[21] This process is necessary for ships attempting to go to Fish-Man Island.[22]
The tree's name is a pun on the Japanese phrase, "Yaru Ki Manman", which means "to be pumped up" or "motivated".
Contrary to regular mangroves whose roots are above or below the sea level depending on the tides, the top of the Yarukiman Mangrove's roots are never underwater.

Luffy covered in Body Mushrooms. Luffy covered in Body Mushrooms.
Body Mushroom (カラダカラキノコガハエルダケ, Karada kara kinoko ga haeru dake?, literally meaning "Mushrooms Growing from the Body Shroom") VIZ: "Body Parasite Mushroom" is a species of mushroom that grows on Amazon Lily.
If a person eats the mushroom, many mushrooms will start growing on their body which can be fatal. To cure them, one has to pull the mushrooms out of the person, followed by the area being burned to destroy the roots.
Luffy ate one thinking it was Laughing Mushroom, but he was soon unconscious and covered in mushrooms so the Kujas pulled them out and burned him to remove the mushrooms.[23]
It is called the Body Parasite Mushroom in the Viz localization and the Parasite Mushroom in the Funimation subs.
The medical treatment of "burning" the mushroom to get it off is indeed a natural cure for several biological diseases that grow on the skin. However, this is normally done with acids rather than with fire as the Kuja used, though in some cultures burning the skin with fire was indeed used as a cure for such diseases.
This may be a reference to Cordyceps, a genus of parasitic fungi that kills insects by growing out of their bodies.

Stomach Baron
Stomach Baron (ストマックバロン, Sutomakku Baron?) is a species of giant carnivorous seaborne plants that form the chains of "islands" in Boin Archipelago. Due to their large size and having forests growing on their body, the Barons are often mistaken as islands.[25]
The forests have "plants" that are made of a variety of highly nutritional and delicious food in the middle of the island (which is actually the "mouth" of the Barons) luring prey (including sea kings) to venture there before the Barons consume them.[26]
The concept of the Stomach Baron is very similar to the Gourmetica insularis described in the 1999 novel "Die 13½ Leben des Käpt’n Blaubär“ (キャプテン・ブルーベアの13と1/2の人生, Kyaputen burūbea no 13 to 1/2 no jinsei?) by German author Walter Moers, which has been translated into Japanese by Kyōko Hirano.[27]
Weather Ball Weather Ball (天候ウェザーボール, Wezā Bōru?) is the most important invention on Weatheria. They grow in Weather Patches (天候畑, Tenkō Hata?) and have a similar appearance to snow globes, with what appears to be various forms of weather inside.[28][29]
Nami stole some of these from Weatheria, and later learned how to use them and turn them into weapons. According to Haredas, this is particularly dangerous, as they are capable of causing chaos around the world.[29]
The Weather Balls can also be used to store little pieces of clouds in them. When a few Weather Balls with clouds are combined, a big cloud is formed. The cloud can also shoot lightning. Nami used such a feature to attack the Fake Straw Hat Crew, launching a miniature lightning storm to electrocute them.[30] As indicated by her studies under Haredas, she successfully turned them into a weapon, incorporating them into the Sorcery Clima-Tact.
Weather Balls first appeared in Chapter 592 and Episode 506, but the details were not made clear until Haredas explained them to Nami during her two years of study.[28]

Daft Green (ダフトグリーン, Dafuto Gurīn?) is a species of a tree that exists in the flying archipelago, Merveille. It first appeared in One Piece Film: Strong World.[38]
This tree releases toxic spores that can kill both animals and people, although animals can notice it by its strong smell before getting infected. After being infected, the person starts to develop green skin spots. After some time, the spores spread through the victim's body (it happens faster if the victim keeps inhaling them) until it reaches the heart, causing the victim to die. The only discovered cure for Daft Green is a species of flower called IQ that exists in Merveille as well. Both Xiao's grandmother and Nami were infected by its spores.
When arranged well, the daft green can serve as protective barrier. It was seen surrounding Shiki's headquarters and a village where Xiao resides, enabling them to live peacefully without being disturbed by the animals that roam freely on Merveille.
Daft Green Infobox A Daft Green tree. Daft green Nami infected with the tree's toxic spores. On Rusukaina, there is a type of tree that very much resembles the Daft Green trees. Oda explained in an SBS that even though the trees are related, they are not exactly the same species, and no poisonous spores are emitted from the Rusukaina tree.[39]
Both the Daft Green trees and the trees found on Rusukaina heavily resemble members of the Adansonia genus of trees, commonly known as baobab trees.

Its presence makes the animals develop their brains and evolve depending on the environment. This plant was later used by Dr. Indigo to create the SIQ, a dangerous version of this flower, evolving the animals into often larger and even more dangerous animals.[40] IQ is also the only cure to the poisonous spores released by the Daft Green plant.
"I.Q." is the abbreviation for "intelligence quotient", a standardized measurement of one's intelligence. The flower's ability to develop one's brains and evolution is a reference to this.
The Drowsy Mushroom (へたれダケ, Hetare-dake?) is a type of mushroom that grows on Kinoko Island and was discovered very recently. Anyone who eats it will briefly lose consciousness. When they come to, they will not have any motivation to do anything. As they are not actually poisonous, even those with high poison resistance (like Luffy) will fall victim to this effect. Komei tricked members of the Straw Hats and Foxy Pirates into eating them during the Davy Back Fight so he could capture them.[41]
The Rebound Mushroom (もどるダケ, Modoru-dake?) is a type of mushroom which also grows on Kinoko Island. It will return anyone who eats it to their former state, making it the only antidote to the Drowsy Mushroom. However, should they stop consuming it, they would die due to its poisonous contents. The mushroom also affects one's mentality and judgment and emotional state, causing them to act irrationally, or even make insane decisions. Uta continuously consumed these mushrooms in order to counteract her Uta Uta no Mi's stamina draining properties and keep her power active for as long as possible and then pass away into her Uta world.[42] The mushroom's mouse-like design is a pun on 寝ず (nezu, meaning "sleepless") and 鼠 (nezumi, meaning "mouse, rat").

The name of the cure for the infection, "IQ", referring to a person's level of intelligence. "Daft" can be used to describe someone who is foolish.
