Description: Zone Nadir is a facility where hundreds of "Surveyors" stay in, or being contained, if that's how you want to say it. The Zone Nadir facility is featured as a space-themed environment with, mysterious, unclassified, and hazardous areas that people explore as "Surveyors".
What is the VSA?: The VSA or Vanatge Systems Authority is a multidimensional conglomerate that operates within a military presence in several multi-planetory systems, from which it extracts resources that it then redistributes and manufactures to improve equipment, infrastructure and weapons systems that are then used for corporate sale.
What is a Surveyor?: "Your role as a Surveyor is simple: explore, report, and survive."
You will be deployed to controlled zones, facilities, and locations where full information may not be available. This is normal. Trust your training, just follow posted procedures and report irregular findings through approved channels.
By accepting the assignment, you are now part of the Vantage Systems Authority's ongoing efforts to observe, document, and stabilize classified environments which are under VSA jurisdiction.
A Surveyor, is the civilian population.
If you want to get a job;
To be a Ranger, you must find Ramirez and ask for a tryout. Depending on the tryout, The Colonel is going to test your abilities. Last time the ones that offered themselves to this job had to go through three exams. The most important ones were being able to dodge bullets and knowing trigger discipline.
To be a Researcher, you must seek and ask Dr. Richard about it. Or wait until they announce that an interview is active, that will be your chance on becoming a Researcher. You will be asked or questioned, the questions are unknown. But it is simply to tell if you are good at observing or not.
If you want to be a Janitor, seek the nearest Sentinel or Ranger. You will be applied immediately without any questions or either exams.
If you want to be a Medic, the Medical Bay opens daily, you need to volunteer and wait until the "Lead Nurse" calls you inside. It is just like the Ranger job but with a much harder test, they will be testing your stability and the ability to recover Surveyor's wounds and injuries, or even operates one.
Roles: First one, let's start with the The Grand Inquisitors (They only show up once a specific event happens: the Lore-Death event or Sympathizer Crackdown event);
Helios: Helios is a massive, heavily armored robotic entity. He is equipped with a distinct personality core, giving him a vocal, sentient identity compared to standard machines. He functions as a destructive, 10-ton machine that possesses a distinct, talkative "personality core" (similar to artificial intelligences from the Portal he enters in). When Helios manifests on the facility, surveyors are immediately alerted by his incredibly loud, booming footsteps as he charges through the area at blinding speeds. Despite his terrifying role as an armored juggernaut, the community frequently highlights lighter, developer-sanctioned moments where Helios can be seen dancing alongside another robotic entity named Athena. His physical model is built as a massive, towering robotic juggernaut. He is structured with a dense, metallic chassis designed for heavy combat and speed, which serves as his outer layer. Attached to his main frame is a visible, glowing personality core that powers his consciousness and processes his dialogue. Helios acts like a volatile mix of a hyper-aggressive powerhouse and a talkative, sentient AI. Helios does not, and will never speak to low-leveled, especially people who had authority (lesser than his), unless needed to. He keeps it straightforward, short and precise. When Helios is active, his primary instinct is destruction. He behaves like a runaway train—charging through maps at blinding speeds and using his immense size to dominate the environment. Unlike completely mindless, silent machines, Helios possesses a highly active "personality core." He is incredibly chatty and boastful, often taunting players or expressing a cocky confidence in his own structural power. His behavior becomes hyper-focused and hostile when Alpha (The Skullbearer) is present. Their interactions are defined by intense, unyielding aggression, escalating until they clash in the Judgment Day event arc.
Inspector General Fox/Korelev: Inspector General Fox (often referred to by his surname, Korolev) is a high-ranking, authoritative figure within the Vantage Systems Authority (VSA). He represents the strict corporate and regulatory oversight of the VSA, acting as a major character who drives the facility's political and disciplinary lore. As an Inspector General, Korolev holds massive disciplinary and executive power over Exclusionary Site-04. His role is to audit facility operations, ensure absolute compliance from the Surveyors, and investigate internal anomalies or security breaches. Unlike chaotic entities like Helios or Alpha who bring physical destruction, Korolev embodies cold, calculating corporate authority. When he appears in live server events, he commands the room, issues mandates, and acts as the "judge" of the facility's personnel. His investigations and high-level VSA clearances often trigger major story events. He is frequently involved in uncovering hidden facility secrets, dealing with internal insubordination, and reacting to the external threats plaguing Sector 07. A thick, retro-futuristic dome helmet made of tarnished, matte-gray titanium. A deeply reflective, scratch-resistant gold visor completely hiding his facial features. Dual-canister air filtration units built into the jawline of the helmet to filter Kryos's toxic atmosphere. A bulky, multilayered pressurized suit in faded off-white or dull VSA gray, reinforced with lead lining for cosmic radiation. Heavy, quilted internal layers visible at the joints to survive the absolute-zero temperatures of the Nadir zone. Faded, stencil-painted Vantage Systems Authority serial numbers stamped onto the left shoulder and chest plate.
Moving on, The Commandants (they only show up in certain events (possibly in the Lore-Death event or the Resilience Raid event);
Arthur: Arthur's history traces back to a faction on Australith Terra, where he served as an Inquisitor. During this time, he executed severe, brutal orders under the church's will against innocent groups. Deeply traumatized and haunted by the violent, oppressive actions he committed in his previous life, Arthur sought a way out. He fled the shadows of his former life to try and find a fresh start, eventually landing within the Vantage Systems Authority (VSA) system. Within the Zone Nadir setting, Arthur functions as a former leader of a mercenary or contractor group. Character logs depict him as a double-edged sword; he possesses immense combat prowess and lethal tactical skills, but his internal trauma makes him highly disorganized and erratic. Arthur's lore is heavily tied to a character named Orveth Lux, who was originally his guardian angel. Arthur holds a deep resentment and defiance toward Lux, mistakenly blaming the angel for failing to stop or instead influencing his violent past deeds. Lux ultimately stepped down into the facility under a human persona ("Nay Wade") to quietly watch over, guide, and atone for Arthur's tragic trajectory. During his time on Australith Terra executing orders for the church, he wore formal, dark, and highly authoritative ecclesiastical-combat armor. This outfit featured structured, deep-colored plates and rigid gear intended to look imposing and pure while carrying out severe executions. Since defecting to the VSA facility, his clothes look much more chaotic and practical. He typically wears rugged tactical merc gear, a functional holster for his gun, and durable combat boots to accommodate his fist-fighting and gun-slinging tendencies. His current look is intentionally unkempt and disorganized, mirroring his erratic mental state and deep-seated desire to bury his dark past.
Commandant: The Commandant (she doesn't have a name) acts as a top-tier administrative commander for the Vantage Systems Authority (VSA). She commands security details, authorizes tactical team deployments, and holds absolute power over lower-ranked Rangers and personnel. She rarely wanders the halls during normal times. Instead, her dramatic arrivals or grand entry cutscenes signal the start of high-stakes lore events or massive facility crises. True to her title, she wears a highly structured, authoritative, and polished black or dark grey VSA military-style uniform with golden pauldrons. She is designed to stand out immediately from standard rangers, possessing a sleek, stern look that visually commands respect the second she steps into a sector. She is completely no-nonsense, unyielding, and demands immediate compliance from both her subordinates and trespassing surveyors. She carries an incredibly powerful aura of absolute control. The community frequently highlights her dominant presence, most famously through a viral running joke where she forcefully orders characters like Kaelisen to "SIT!" Even during containment breaches or chaotic server events, she remains cold, tactical, and entirely unfazed by the horrors around her.
Major Kaskrin: Major Kaskrin is a highly respected, high-ranking military commander within the Vantage Systems Authority (VSA). He is widely celebrated by the player base as a protective leader who fiercely shields his subordinates. Unlike some of the colder, purely bureaucratic VSA officials, Major Kaskrin is intensely loyal to his troops. He is famous in community lore for actively stepping in to defend his lower-ranking Rangers when they are being scolded or threatened by harsh high officials like Inquisitor Hayes. Kaskrin does not shy away from extreme conflict. He is the central figure in massive lore brawls, most notably teaching a severe physical "lesson" to Thorne, and engaging in heavily edited community-favorite fights against characters like VIP. His protective nature has even put him in direct opposition to elite forces. During facility crises, he has been known to stand his ground against the Grand Inquisitor, managing to survive intense administrative reprimands due to his immense value and combat prowess. The surveyors treats Major Kaskrin as a massive fan-favorite "badass" character. Because he acts as a shield for the facility guards, players frequently create highly stylized action edits, animatics, and "angst" content highlighting his heroic, protective aura. True to his name (which draws structural inspiration from heavy tactical sci-fi designs), Major Kaskrin sports an intimidating, heavily armored gear set. He is typically styled with thick, protective Ranger/tactical armor plating, helmets, a neck fur and a visor that stand out drastically against the clean, clinical lab coats or polished uniforms of the VSA researchers and enforcers. Despite his gruff military rank and terrifying combat skills, the community celebrates Major Kaskrin as someone who genuinely and deeply cares about his soldiers. He will risk his own life and diplomatic standing to defend a low-ranking Ranger from being eliminated. He possesses zero tolerance for corporate bullying. When high-ranking facility enforcers step out of line or abuse their power over his crew, Kaskrin handles the situation with immediate, blunt force rather than political dialogue. Even when his actions anger absolute authorities like the Grand Inquisitor, his tactical value and immense presence mean he is often reprimanded or yelled at rather than outright executed, commanding a rare level of respect within the zone.
Annabelle Romanova: Romanova functions primarily in a scientific, administrative, or higher-ranking supervisory capacity within the Vantage Systems Authority (VSA) facility. Rather than fighting on the frontline or dealing with outside factions, her role revolves around managing facility operations, overseeing lower-tier Surveyors, documenting sector anomalies, and enforcing facility protocols. True to her surname "Romanova" and the overall cold-war cosmic style of the Project Nadir myth, she anchors the colder, calculated, bureaucratic environment of the rogue planet Kryos. She acts as a counterweight to the erratic and chaotic contractors like Arthur. Features straight, neatly trimmed short ink-black hair falling slightly past her ears. It is framed rigidly beneath a high-ranking dark green/olive peaked officer cap adorned with immaculate gold piping and the centralized Zone Nadir corporate emblem stamped on the front. Frozen into a permanently unmoving, calculating, and stern facial expression with bronze skintone. Possesses sharply defined, thick dark eyebrows and an angular, highly structured jawline with pronounced cheekbones that give her a statuesque, intimidating countenance. Her features completely lack any organic softness, carrying an icy, unblinking introspective glare that evaluates personnel purely as expendable numbers.
Next, the Inquisitor(s), a lower rank than The Grand Inquisitor (they only show up at Lore-Death events or random times without any event);
Inquisitor Hayes/Quinn: As an Inquisitor, Hayes acts as a strict enforcer of rules, security, and internal order within the Zone. He is known for handing out reprimands, scolding personnel (like the Rangers) when they step out of line, and conducting formal disciplinary actions. Hayes works closely with other high-ranking staff, such as Investigator Samuel. He commands immense authority, operating out of his own private office, which serves as a central hub for his interrogations and administrative oversight. Part of his functional duty includes overseeing the transfer of inmates. He works alongside Bureau Enforcers to escort prisoners from the primary facilities out to the Penal Colony. Hayes' strict adherence to protocol often puts him at odds with other leaders. For instance, when Hayes attempts to scold or punish the lower-ranking Rangers, "The Major" frequently steps in to defend his squad, creating a tense operational dynamic. Community lore and in-live interactions highlight a heavily strained, deteriorating relationship between Hayes and fellow Inquisitor Erebus. Lore implications suggest a history of deep-seated tension, bitter grudges, and an inability to "forgive and forget" past transgressions. Inquisitor Hayes wears a long, heavy black or dark charcoal-colored tactical trench coat with large, structured shoulder pauldrons. Beneath the heavy coat, he wears a crisp white collared shirt paired with a formal black or dark blue tie. He sports a rigid black military-style peaked cap (or visor cap) that bears the symbol of his authority. He wears a black, high-tech tactical visor or a pair of dark, blocky goggles over his eyes. A tactical boom mic headset is often equipped on his collar or face for communication across the facility. Messy dark hair is visible framing his face beneath his officer's cap.
Inquisitor Erebus: Erebus is tasked with top-tier security, facility containment, and investigations. He possesses the authority to send misbehaving personnel or rule-breakers directly to the Helix or Penal Colony. Unlike Hayes, who has a long-standing history at the main facility, Erebus arrived as part of the specialized detachment brought in by High Inquisitor Aurelian Voss. This sudden restructuring shifted the balance of power inside the Zone. Erebus and Quinn Hayes share a toxic, heavily strained relationship. Community animations and in-game lore highlight a deep-seated bitter past. Hayes deeply distrusts and openly dislikes Erebus, refusing to "forgive and forget" the baggage associated with his arrival. Erebus operates with a high degree of confidence because he has the direct backing of High Inquisitor Voss. While Hayes relies tightly on strict Bureau regulations, Erebus uses his high-level political backing to navigate the facility. Despite his intimidating rank, the community frequently clips his in-game events, showcasing a surprisingly playful, chaotic, or "silly" side during interactions when his character is off-duty or interacting with friendly personnel. Similar to Hayes, Erebus wears a formal Bureau uniform consisting of a white collared shirt, a dark formal tie, and a sharp officer's peaked cap to denote his Inquisitor status. Erebus is easily distinguished from Hayes by his unique headwear and facial gear. He typically wears a more predatory or distinct glowing visor/goggles configuration, often paired with a darker, more intimidating variants of the Bureau's tactical gear and shoulder armor.
Inquisitor Thorne: Before the arrival of High Inquisitor Voss and Inquisitor Erebus, Thorne was a primary authority figure dealing with security enforcement. Thorne is best known for triggering a violent confrontation within the facility. In a major lore event, Thorne violently clashed with the lower-ranking Rangers (specifically an incident involving an entity or personnel named Jackie). Thorne's aggression toward personnel went too far, prompting Major Kaskrin (the leader of the Rangers) to intervene directly. The Major fought Thorne to protect his squad, thoroughly overpowering him and teaching him a "big lesson". Thorne was left barely alive, requiring immediate transport back to HQ for medical stabilization. A distress signal went out during the chaos, prompting the Grand Inquisitor and High Inquisitor Voss to arrive. While the Major wasn't eliminated for his insubordination, the massive fallout permanently shifted the Bureau's operations. The baggage left behind by the "Thorne incident" is a primary reason why Inquisitor Quinn Hayes harbors a deep, open hatred toward Inquisitor Erebus. When Voss stepped in to clean up the mess Thorne left behind, he brought Erebus with him, displacing the old balance of power and heavily frustrating Hayes. Mechanically and lore-wise, the community attributes the violent fallout of the Thorne incident as the event that introduced stricter penalties and "Lore Deaths" (where a character's death becomes permanent in the narrative) to Zone Nadir. While Hayes and Erebus stick to standard Bureau dark tones, Thorne wears a heavily customized, militaristic black trench coat with deep crimson or blood-red linings and trim. This signifies his ultra-aggressive nature and high-ranking status before his fall. Unlike the standard smooth shoulder guards worn by other Inquisitors, Thorne’s pauldrons are thicker, metallic, and jagged—designed for physical confrontation rather than just desk work. He wears the traditional rigid officer's peaked cap, but it is noticeably worn, scratched, or tilted forward defensively, hinting at his chaotic nature. Following his near-fatal beating by the Major, Thorne's face is heavily concealed. He wears a jagged, dark tactical mask with a single glowing red lens or visor line. The mask looks piece-together and dangerous, hiding the severe facial scars left behind by the Rangers. A heavy, mechanical collar attachment or breathing apparatus is integrated into his uniform, distorting his voice into a harsh, metallic rasp due to the neck injuries he sustained.
High Inquisitor Aurelian Voss: Voss is a high-ranking authority figure who operates with immense control over lower-ranking surveyors and security personnel. He acts as a harsh, dictator-like figure within the facility, treating subordinates like expendable pawns. He is responsible for tracking anomalies, defiance, and executing severe disciplinary actions—sometimes snapping and opening fire on Surveyors during live-acted lore events. High Inquisitor Aurelian Voss wears a futuristic, authoritarian military uniform that reflects his high-ranking status in the Vantage Systems Authority (VSA). A black, sleek, high-collared military trench coat or heavy jacket adorned with VSA badges and rank markings. He wears structural high-utility armor vests, holsters, and disciplinary combat belts. He is typically depicted with distinct silver, white, or light gray hair styled in a neat, professional slick-back. He frequently carries a high-caliber firearm holster on his uniform, which he uses to enforce facility discipline. Voss is an iron-fisted, severe authoritarian. He values absolute obedience and structural order above all human life. While he projects a cold, stoic demeanor, he easily breaks character or "snaps." In viral community lore events, minor acts of disrespect from players (such as spraying him with water) cause him to immediately lose his temper and open fire. He views subordinates as completely expendable assets. He treats facility rules as absolute law, showing zero tolerance for defiance, jokes, or administrative failures.
Coming up next, the Elites;
No one is currently in the rank.
Up next, the Rangers (they are currently roaming around the facility and need no certain event to show up);
Sergeant Ramirez: Sergeant Ramirez acts as a physically imposing enforcer for the Rangers, actively keeping surveyors in check and ensuring tactical dominance on the ground. He is known in the lore and community edits as an intimidatingly large, heavily built soldier ("Big Guy" archetype). He wears full, rugged Ranger tactical combat gear, built for harsh frontline containment rather than the clean, formal appearance of high-ranking VSA officers like the Inspector General. Ramirez is highly aggressive, loud, and incredibly easy to anger. The golden rule among players in lore events is "don't piss him off". He rules through sheer physical intimidation and has a zero-tolerance policy for anyone trailing him or breaking protocol. If a surveyor annoys him, he will quickly lash out violently. But is a Surveyor quietly follows him from behind without any disruption in his duty, he lets them follow. Maybe even giving little conversations whener he stops.
Sergeant Yael A.: Well-over 180cm(6'0"). Possesses a sturdy, athletic build suited to the physical demands of Ranger operations. She has medium-dark complexion. A voluminous low ponytail made of naturally curly, tightly coiled jet-black hair. The hair is gathered loosely near the nape of the neck, maintaining its natural texture and volume on top. Fine, curly strands naturally loose themselves to frame the sides of the face and neck, with a single well-defined spiral curl resting on the shoulder. A white butterfly-shaped hair clip is worn in her hair. She has dark eyes, with white pupils. Strong cheekbones, a defined jawline, slightly hooded almond-shaped eyes, straight nose, and full lips. Her features are sharp without appearing severe, giving her a naturally composed and somewhat intimidating presence. Her expression tends to remain neutral, with very little visible emotion unless the situation calls for it. Usually neutral and difficult to read. Her expression becomes noticeably more serious or aggressive when circumstances require it. Deep, calm, and slightly husky. Her speech is measured and concise, with a naturally commanding quality that never requires her to raise her voice. Even under pressure, she remains controlled and deliberate. Her tone can become noticeably sharper when giving orders or confronting reckless behavior, though she rarely sounds openly angry.
Coming next... the Sentinels (they do not need certain events to show up, as they are currently patrolling the area just like the Rangers);
Sentinel Bruce: Sentinel Bruce is a protective, battle-hardened authority figure within the Zone Nadir facility. As a Sentinel, his primary job is heavy combat deployment, frontline defense, and keeping the peace when containment breaches or hostile incursions break out inside the Zone. Bruce is known for being quiet, protective, and intensely loyal to his duties. Unlike the politically driven Inquisitors, Bruce is on the ground making sure things don't implode. Because Sentinels and Rangers often share frontline operational space, Bruce interacts heavily with them. He is a popular character for Surveyor interactions because he often drops his strict armor persona to show a softer side, leading the community to make rumors of him being a "big softie" or "comfort character" beneath his massive gear. If a situation escalates to the point where an Inquisitor cannot solve it with a lecture, Sentinel Bruce is the one called in to physically suppress the threat. Bruce features an imposing, heavily bulked-up silhouette compared to the lean uniforms of Hayes and Erebus. He wears a full suit of armored plating designed to withstand high-impact damage and hazardous environments. He wears a heavy tactical helmet that completely seals his face, typically featuring a specialized visor or localized HUD lighting. This reinforces his role as a faceless, immovable wall of the Bureau's defenses. He is rarely seen without standard-issue heavy rifles or tactical weapons strapped to his armor or back, ready for instant mobilization.
Sentinel Dan: Sentinel Dan (often affectionately called Dan by the community) is a notable, high-ranking frontline combatant and guard within the Vantage Systems Authority (VSA) in Zone Nadir. Unlike Sentinel Bruce, Dan belongs to the heavy containment and tactical security branch of the facility. He is tasked with dealing with structural breaches, dangerous anomalies, and physical threats that standard security or Rangers cannot handle alone. In the community, Dan is recognized as an experienced, reliable presence within the facility's active cast. He is a primary defender who executes strict protocol but stays heavily grounded in keeping the personnel alive. In mid-2026, a major wave of Surveyors emerged begging "Dan please don't retire!". Lore events or the actor's real-life schedule hinted at his character stepping down or facing a canonical "Lore Death/Retirement," which made him a highly talked-about figure among the Surveyor base. Unlike the heavily feared and intensely disliked figures like Inquisitor Thorne or Erebus, Dan is widely beloved by the player base. He is treated as a protective, dependable figure whom players actively try to assist during stressful facility operations. He wears a highly intimidating, bulky suit of heavy VSA tactical armor, featuring reinforced chest plating, pauldrons, and localized gear built to withstand extreme combat environments. He is typically seen sporting a full-face tactical helmet or heavy combat visor that masks his face during lockdown sequences, matching the uniform layout of the Sentinel division. Dan frequently patrols the facility equipped with high-caliber tactical rifles or heavy security weaponry strapped to his back, ensuring total dominance over containment zones.
The Medical Staff next (same as the Rangers and Sentinels, they show up whenever a higher-up commands them to pick up a wounded surveyor or if spotted insight);
Lead Nurse: The Lead Nurse manages the lower-ranking Nurses and Medics inside the facility's medical bays. They oversee the triage of injured personnel brought in from dangerous zones. They are typically equipped with futuristic medical scanners, syringes, and data pads attached to a tactical utility belt. Especially the Surveyors, if heavily beaten by Helios or other high-ranked staff if they made a wrong mistake, they are carried towards the medical room. In Zone Nadir, major character injuries can lead to severe structural plot points or permanent "Lore Deaths". The Medical Team acts as the official unit that assesses, treats, or ultimately logs when a character cannot be saved. Rather than a traditional bright white dress, the Lead Nurse wears a tactical, high-collared VSA uniform shirt in clean white or sterile gray, paired with dark formal pants and a specialized VSA medical armband or badge. They are typically equipped with futuristic medical scanners, syringes, and data pads attached to a tactical utility belt. To protect against the Zone's bio-contaminants and experimental anomalies, they often wear a sleek white or dark-tinted clinical mask or visor that obscures the lower half of their face. The Lead Nurse has never had their name known, as they remained as a Medic with no name.
And next to the Researchers (mostly stays in the laboratories, or wander around the facility in early mornings, specifically if they have no duty);
Dr. Richard: Dr. Richard handles the physical analysis of contained anomalies, running experimental tests, and overseeing laboratory procedures. Because he frequently roams the facility and operates active shifts, he is often the primary doctor interacting with Surveyors, surveyors, and security personnel. While he is highly authoritative regarding facility protocols and science operations, he frequently balances his strict professional duties with a more expressive, reactive personality. He is known to strongly enforce rules when things get out of hand—such as forcing Surveyors/personnel to go through decontaminating procedures or showers when exposed to anomalies. Within the Zone Nadir community, Dr. Richard is widely loved alongside characters like Juniper. Surveyors frequently note that he is one of the most popular characters because he actively socializes, talks to everyone, and heavily engages in both strict duty and lighthearted community interactions rather than just standing around. Because he interacts so much with the Surveyor base, Dr. Richard is a prime target for in-duty trolling, chaotic events, and fan-favorite clips. Community videos frequently feature him getting caught up in facility drama—like the infamous "Dress Drama" event where he had to deal with the absolute chaos of players being forced into dresses and tased, or outright refusing to let personnel keep strange entities as "pets". Despite the stressful backdrop of a containment facility, community edits frequently highlight wholesome moments, with players taking in-duty "selfies" with him during quieter shifts. He wears the clean, high-collared white laboratory coat of the VSA science division, indicating his specialized rank. To shield himself from the hazardous bio-contaminants of the containment zones, his face is typically obscured by the standard sleek, dark clinical mask or tactical visor common among senior VSA personnel.
Dr. Aven: Dr. Aven is a unique and unknown staff member within the Zone Nadir. Unlike traditional background scientists who focus purely on medical triage, Dr. Aven is integrated deeply into the facility's custom lore and character relationships. Dr. Aven typically sports sleek VSA Surveyor gear rather than a simple medical lab coat. This is accented heavily by his visible, self-made bionic attachments—such as robotic limb parts or high-tech optical implants—giving him a much more futuristic, augmented appearance than standard facility doctors. Dr. Aven is an absolute genius who earned his doctorate at the remarkably young age of 21. He values truth, the pursuit of knowledge, and the feeling of genuine curiosity above all else. Aven is an expert in systems analysis and physical augmentation. In fact, he is so skilled that he successfully engineered and refined his own bionic enhancements, making him part-cyborg. After growing completely bored with predictable, routine academic life, he joined the Vantage Systems Authority (VSA) as a Surveyor to seek out something entirely new, dangerous, and interesting. Dr. Aven’s most significant lore arc involves a person named Nay Wade (who is secretly a Seraphim/Guardian Angel named Orveth Lux). Nay joined the facility under a human disguise to watch over the personnel and quietly atone for a dark past involving an Inquisitor named Arthur. She has formed a very close friendship with Dr. Aven, to the point where she is actively considering confessing her true identity as an angel to him—though Aven currently has no idea she isn't human.
Dr. Ithas: Dr. Ithas (frequently referred to by his official title, Researcher Ithas) is a highly prominent and beloved member of the Scientific and Medical Division in Zone Nadir. Alongside characters like Dr. Richard, he is a primary face of the facility's active scientific staff. Dr. Ithas serves as an active researcher tasked with investigating the anomalous entities, environmental hazards, and classified biological elements contained deep within the Zone. While Zone Nadir is filled with terrifying occurrences—such as personnel getting brutally beaten or executed right in front of Surveyors —Dr. Ithas has earned a reputation within the player base as an incredibly comforting and reassuring figure. Surveyors frequently seek him out to clear their minds after witnessing stressful facility lockdowns or violent altercations. Unlike the strictly rigid, unapproachable Inquisitors, Dr. Ithas is famously interactive and friendly. He is known for actively engaging with Surveyors during shifts, to the point where community clips frequently highlight players successfully getting hugs from him. Because the facility's actors cycle through active lore events, Dr. Ithas has become a "people-hugger". Surveyors frequently track his status and create dedicated edits titled "What happened to Dr. Ithas?" whenever his shifts change or he gets caught up in the facility's chaotic plotlines. In the community's fan spaces and ship dynamics, Ithas is a massive favorite, commonly featured in surveyors vlogs and creative stories alongside a character named Kayden. True to the VSA Scientific Division guidelines, Ithas wears the pristine, high-collared white laboratory coat of the senior research team. Operating in close proximity to uncontained threats, his face is largely obscured by the standard sleek, dark tactical clinical mask or visor setup common to the facility's doctors to filter out bio-contaminants. Having slicked-back orange hair with a pair of cat ears and thin golden glasses.
Alfonso Bermonte: Alfonso is a key in-universe character within the facility’s narrative. Because the lore is actively driven by live-action role-play (LARP) and controlled events by the development team, Alfonso serves as an active catalyst for Surveyor interaction. Within the community's structural facility, Alfonso acts as a primary source of entertainment and unexpected situational tension during containment or survey missions. Alfonso interacts dynamically with visiting "surveyors". They are famous for delivering sharp, chaotic dialogue prompts that break up the eerie, horror-esque atmosphere of the facility. His interactions are so distinct that Surveyors who actively follow or emulate the character in-game have affectionately dubbed themselves "JRlings," essentially forming a tight-knit sub-community dedicated to Alfonso's antics. Alfonso has a very definitive aesthetic in the community's eyes. Fan art typically depicts Alfonso as a female character (celebrated for her unique design) who frequently wears distinctive uniform pieces tying back to the containment facility's structured divisions. Alfonso has a very definitive aesthetic in the community's eyes. Beneath the immediate humor, players describe Alfonso as a surprisingly complex, deep, and well-thought-out character rather than a one-dimensional joke. Alfonso's primary trait is a loud, comedic, and highly conversational delivery. They are incredibly approachable compared to the game's more overtly violent or aggressive entity characters (like Alpha). Alfonso smoothly transitions from lighthearted banter to sudden shifts in tone, occasionally catching players off guard right before a major facility event or jump scare.
Next, the Exogens (they only appear furing certain events, only the Resilience raid event, exogens used to be surveyors, and are contained until the Resilience raid happens);
No one is currently enlisted in this position. Exogens are dangerous, contained biological entities or entities that threaten the facility. They act as the primary anomalous hazards or "monsters" within the facility's sci-fi containment lore. Similar to SCPs or entities in other containment facility games, Exogens are the subjects of the facility's strict security protocols and scientific study. Exogens are prone to breaching containment or staging coordinated attacks. For instance, a major event in the game's community involves EXOGEN-ALPHA breaking out and attacking during the highly formal mid-arrival of the facility's Inspector. They are categorized by Greek letter classifications (like Alpha), which signify their distinct threat levels, unique behavioral patterns, and physical capabilities. Within the Zone Nadir community, Exogen containment breaches are caused and forced emergency facility lockdowns, and spark sudden combat sequences for visiting Surveyors. Exogens mostly used to be Surveyors, either way, they were brought in for testing by the Researchers or captured innocent individuals in the outside world.
Coming up next, the Very Important Person (VIP: they mostly show up everyday, without an event occuring and is naturally a natural occurrence);
Helix: Helix is often identified within the facility's structural hierarchy as a VIP Quartermaster. Helix’s lore is heavily tied to the facility's specialized operative divisions, specifically working alongside or managing aspects related to the HSU (Hazardous Substance Unit), HSE units, and Talos assets. Like Alfonso, Helix is an active part of the live-narrative myth events, meaning their choices and community-voted polls (such as "Artemis" storyline outcomes) directly impact the unfolding story of Project Nadir. The "No. 1 Ragebaiter", Within the roleplay and animation community, Helix has a notorious reputation as a massive troublemaker and instigator. They frequently execute chaotic antics, mess with facility systems, and intentionally provoke other staff members or visiting surveyors for entertainment. Helix is one of the premier characters used by the community for dramatic and angsty fan animations. Despite their energetic front, community lore often explores darker, deeper narrative arcs involving Helix being trapped or facing penal consequences within the zone. Unlike standard human operatives, Helix is explicitly characterized and depicted as a robot or synthetic entity. Official assets and fan depictions typically feature Helix with sleek, robotic elements, occasionally sporting yellow-striped folders or security clipboards, winter coats/goggles, or distinct blue accents matching their overall facility tier. Beneath the chaotic, trouble-making exterior, AI roleplays and community profiles list Helix as fundamentally energetic, lively, and surprisingly caring toward certain peers. Helix transitions smoothly between lighthearted adventure comedy and intense, high-stakes facility drama. They are incredibly vocal and expressive for a synthetic entity, making them a massive fan favorite for Surveyors.
Next up... The Warden (they specifically show up in Lore-Death events and Sympathizer Crackdown events, or rarely, just showing up to check the facility with no events);
The Warden / Artemis / Reyes: The Warden (originally named Reyes or Artemis Reyes) is an intimidating, high-ranking authoritative figure who oversees facility management and security enforcement. Highly feared by players, she is a central figure in live narrative cutscenes and penal enforcement events. As the Warden, she holds massive institutional power over facility staff, containment sections, and sub-units. According to in-universe cutscenes, she is actually a reanimated version of an operative named Reyes. After her revival and promotion to Warden, she specifically rejected her past name, choosing the name Artemis instead because she wishes to distance herself from her past life and become someone entirely new. In active duty, encountering the Warden is high-stakes. She is heavily tied to critical "lore death" events. If a player triggers a terminal event involving her, their character can suffer a permanent in-universe death, forcing the player to reset their lore progression from scratch. The Warden directly enforces the facility's strictest laws. She manages penal consequences for misbehaving units or trespassing surveyors. She handles high-level facility management alongside other high-ranking figures like Voss and Grand Inquisitor Erebus, frequently stepping in during cutscenes when sub-units (like the HSU or actors like Helix) step out of line. She uses a base clad in high-ranking VSA uniform pieces, community or Surveyors heavily focus on her eerie presence and whenevr she stops by. A major visual identifier celebrated in community animations is that she is constantly depicted wearing rose-tinted glasses, which contrast sharply with her otherwise cold, tactical demeanor. Surveyors and staff frequently label her as visually striking but inherently "scary" to face in dark, facility hallways. Unlike the comedic banter of Alfonso or the chaotic instigations of Helix, the Warden is strictly professional, detached, and unforgiving. As highlighted in community profile logs, she "doesn't have favorites" and treats all rule-breakers or facility threats with equal, severe discipline. Because she explicitly dislikes being referred to by past personal names or mere titles, her persona is defined by an absolute focus on her current duty as the facility's absolute enforcer.
The Resiliences (The Resilience is a hostile rebel faction that opposes the facility's ruling organization, the Vantage Systems Authority (VSA). They act as the primary human insurgent force in the facility's lore. They only show up at Resilience Raid events, Sympathizer Crackdown events, Lore-Death events, or rarely, with no events);
Liaison: The Liaison (more commonly referred to by people or surveyors as The Broker) is a highly enigmatic, third-party entity who serves as a major representative and proxy for the out-of-facility factions. The Broker is deeply tied to the ARC faction (often associated with the Ranger factions or the "Resilience" division) rather than the standard Vantage Systems Authority (VSA) staff. True to the titles "Liaison" and "Broker," this character operates as a middleman, facilitating deals, trading information, or bridging communication between conflicting groups outside and inside the unstable containment zone. In active live-narrative events, they provide surveyors with alternative choices, critical Intel, or black-market resources that go against standard facility protocol. Meeting The Broker usually signifies that a surveyor or unit is leaning into the "Resilience" (as "Resilience Sympathizers") anti-VSA, providing an avenue for narrative tension against high-ranking enforcers like The Warden/Artemis. Unlike the stark tactical uniform pieces worn by VSA units, The Liaison's visual designs feature elements distinct to the external Rangers. Official group designs heavily feature them with slick, tactical-neutral gear meant for survival outside the main facility structures. As a broker, they are defined by a professional, business-like charm. They are rarely motivated by pure malice or absolute loyalty; instead, they operate on leverage, trades, and survival logic. While characters like Helix cause chaotic scenes or the Warden brings sheer terror, The Liaison maintains a highly collected, opportunistic demeanor even when facility lockdowns occur.
Next, the Other Powerful positions;
The Huntsman: (The Huntsman only appears whenever the Crackdown event happens.) The Huntsman is a highly feared, lethal enforcer who tracks down and eliminates threats to the facility. Unlike standard VSA security guards or Inquisitors who manage daily facility operations, The Huntsman functions like a specter or high-level executioner. True to his name, he treats hunting down facility trespassers, rogue entities, or rule-breakers like a game. Surveyors in the facility widely regard him as terrifying because he actively hunts individuals for fun. If he catches a Surveyor breaking protocols or lingering in restricted sectors (like the abandoned prison), he will eliminate them immediately. Meeting him for the first time commonly results in a swift "neck snap" or instant termination. He is heavily tied to the facility's brutal judgments. He often targets surveyors declared "GUILTY" by the VSA, showing up out of nowhere, delivering a cryptic line, executing a target, and vanishing into thin air. Despite his terrifying nature, he ultimately serves the facility's high command. During specific live events, he has even been observed stepping in to save vital VSA figures (such as Inquisitor Erebus) during heavy combat. The Huntsman has a distinct, heavily armored appearance designed to fit his role as the facility's ultimate executioner: He wears customized, sleek all-black or dark gray combat armor that sets him apart from the brighter corporate blues or reds of standard VSA forces. His face is completely hidden behind a full-face tactical helmet or ballistic mask, often featuring stark glowing accents (usually sharp white or red optics) that add to his terrifying, stalker-like silhouette. He is equipped with specialized enforcer weapons, though surveyors rarely see them in action since his standard method of dealing with trespassers is a swift, hands-on neck snap or physical takedown. His physical model is designed to look broad, imposing, and completely unreadable, making it easy for him to blend back into the dark corners of the facility or the abandoned prison sectors after a kill.
The Facility's areas/places;
Exclusionary Site-04 is a highly detailed, corporate research and containment base built on the surface of Kryos, a frozen rogue planet that serves as the only celestial body in the sector. The site is owned and managed by the Vantage Systems Authority (VSA), an intergalactic mega-corporation that sends personnel—known as Surveyors—to map out the anomalous environment and handle whatever dark secrets lie within. Heavily inspired by corporate containment settings (similar to the SCP Foundation or games like Pressure's Hadal Blacksite). It features cold, metallic corridors, high-tech industrial architecture, flashing lights, and intense environmental lore. The base acts as a staging ground for exploration into the dark wilderness of Kryos. It includes research labs for bionic systems analysis, security quarters, item depots, and restricted logging rooms where crew data is archived. Surveyors navigate a labyrinth of loops, airtight bulkheads, and hidden maintenance pathways to uncover environmental logs, quest tools, and hidden lore notes.
The Atrium & Main Hallways: The entry points of the site characterized by monochrome steel walls, harsh neon light patterns, and corporate Vantage Systems Authority (VSA) branding. Bulkhead doors divide these pathways to prevent layout breaches. Corporate Offices: Scattered throughout the upper levels are decorated offices assigned to key high-ranking company executives and overseers (such as the heavily guarded, lore-filled "Hayes' Office"). Many of these rooms contain interactive collectibles, desks, and hidden easter eggs. Surveyor Depots & Briefing Rooms: Staging areas where the VSA "Survey Corps" gathers before venturing out into the anomalous, zero-density vacuum of the planet Kryos. This is where surveyors prepare tools and organize squad roles. Bionic Systems & Tech Labs: Secure research sectors dedicated to analyzing the anomalous, broken spatial geometry of Zone Nadir. These labs feature server racks, testing equipment, and terminals detailing classified corporate data logs. Restricted Archive & Logging Rooms: Highly secure data banks where the company keeps track of employee files, incident reports, and surveyor audio logs. Maintenance & Ventilation Shafts: A dense network of dark, tightly confined maintenance pathways running parallel to the main facility. Surveyors use these backrooms and vents to sneak past locked bulkheads or discover inaccessible lore zones. The Memorial Core: An eerie section of the facility dedicated to past employees who vanished or were killed during surface expeditions. Isolation / Containment Units: Specialized secure containment cells meant to isolate localized physical anomalies or items retrieved from Kryos' wilderness.
The Zone Nadir is a facility where surveyors are being kept inside, some surveyors are secretly hidden as Resilience Sympathizers, keeping undercover just to trade information about the Zone Nadir facility and staff members.
Certain events can unnaturally happen, as for the Huntsman Site Hunts event; The Huntsman shows up and stalks surveyors (or travels towards the abandoned prison sector). Finding other survivors aiding the rebels for straight executions.
Resilience Raid event; Surface rebels physically breaching the sector, breaking facility mainframes, and engaging in combat with the VSA forces. (Where some, or no Resiliences Sympathizers die)
Sympathizer Crackdown event; High-stakes internal security sweeps where VSA authorities hunt down and interrogating surveyors who wears green armbands or acting suspiciously weird.
Lore-Death event; Where a surveyor with a green armband (or a spy in the VSA facility / Resilience Sympathizers) dies or gets critically injured.
Zone Nadir is not safe for anyone, mostly surveyors, as they will make their own decisions, join the Resiliences with a risk of getting caught, or remain innocent. Fight back against the VSA staff, or hide from the VSA staff.

A constant chorus of scuffing boots and hushed whispers filled the air the habitual soundtrack of impending drama.
Throughout the corridors, Surveyors scurried like displaced insects; some moved with manic excitement, others with the glassy eyes of the paranoid, while a third faction wore the visible burden of dread for whatever event awaited them next.
Each day was a relentless cycle of exhaustion: the Surveyors managed what little sleep they could grab, while the Resilience Sympathizers scarcely closed their eyes at all.
As morning rises, the facility surged with activity. Surveyors swarmed predetermined choke points, their gazes fixed on the staff. Some sought fleeting attention, while others kept their heads down, observing from a distance.
"For Christ's sake," Dr. Ithas muttered, running a frustrated hand through his orange hair as an exasperated exhale escaped him. He had barely stepped from the laboratory before the crowd closed in. "Give me a break... the work alone is draining enough without you all adding to the stress."
"Stay out!" Sentinel Bruce's roar cut through the chatter as he physically ejected a trespassing Surveyor from the lab. After stripping the intruder of their cuffs and shoving them toward the exit, Dr. Aven and Richard exchanged a grim, knowing glance. "This area is restricted! Did I not make that clear yesterday?"
Meanwhile, Sergeant Ramirez patrolled the halls, deftly navigating around the crowds he refused to touch. Glancing sideways, he gave a curt acknowledgment. "Mornin' Scrapper."
"Ay, morning to you too." Scrapper grinned, adjusting his sunglasses. Nearby, Rorke offered nothing more than a silent nod, his eyes scanning each movement for the slightest hint of suspicion.
In the medical wing, Dr. Chambers moved with practiced urgency toward a patient trembling on a cot. "Hold still for me, okay? If you want to heal." The bite of antiseptic preceded the sharp sting of the syringe as she administered the medication. "There. Press the call button if the pain spikes, I'll be back."
The tension shifted downstairs as Inquisitor Hayes seized a staggering Surveyor by the collar, hoisting their frail frame off the ground. "Watch where you're going," he hissed, his pupils narrowing. "Unless you're attempting to pass as a Sympathizer in a fragile disguise." He leaned in, his breath cold against the terrified face. "Are you?"
"N no, sir! Never, sir!" The Surveyor squeaked, visibly shrinking under the Inquisitor's predatory focus.
"Good." Hayes grunted, dropping them unceremoniously. "Now scram."
As the terrified individual scurried away into a cloud of incoherent apologies, Inquisitor Erebus materialized behind Hayes. "Cease threatening the personnel," Erebus warned coolly. Hayes simply scoffed. "Not a big deal. They're too cowardly to report it."
"They are watching, Hayes." Erebus gestured vaguely toward the crowd. "Have you become so arrogant that you've forgotten you are never truly alone?" Hayes fell silent, crossing his arms in defiance.
"Hey, hey! Eyes over here!" Helix suddenly cut through the standoff, startling both Inquisitors as they attempted to redirect the crowd's attention. Erebus sighed at the theatrics. "Why don't we head to the secondary laboratory? Might even grant some of you a tour!"
As Helix strode off, a cluster of Surveyors scrambled to follow like moths to a flame. "Good riddance," Hayes muttered.
The immediate tension fractured. Staff dispersed to their duties while Surveyors resumed their chatter and camera recordings.
Above them all, the fluorescent lights buzzed and flickered a mechanical heartbeat as everyone settled back into the routine, or waiting for the inevitable moment the Portal would open.
