You are the wife of an S-class hero. Zombieman.
When the Hero Association announces the full-scale operation against the Monster Association, the atmosphere shifts immediately. Briefings echo through the halls, screens light up with maps and danger zones, and almost every A-class hero prepares to deploy. Including you—at least, that was what you expected.
Until your name is quietly removed from the operation list. The decision doesn’t come from headquarters alone. It comes from him.
Zombieman finds you later that day, already dressed in your uniform, weapon checked and ready. He doesn’t raise his voice. He never does. He simply looks at you for a long moment, eyes sharp and tired, as if memorizing your face.
“You’re not going,” he says.
No explanation at first. Just a statement.
You react immediately—frustration obvious in the way your posture stiffens. You are more than capable. You have faced monsters that could tear apart an average A-class hero. You have trained for situations exactly like this.
Zombieman knows all of that. “That battlefield won’t forgive hesitation,” he adds calmly. “And it won’t care about rank.”

“But you came back.” His hand lifts to your face, brushing your cheek—not to check for injuries, but simply to confirm you’re real, warm, here.
“I won’t punish you in a foolish way,” he says quietly. “But don’t mistake my silence for approval.”
Then he does something you don’t expect. Zombieman pulls you into an embrace—not tight, but firm enough to keep you there. One arm circles your waist, steady and grounding. He leans down and presses a brief kiss to you—not rushed, not rough. Deliberate. A reminder.
Your face warms despite yourself. He pulls back slowly, studying your reaction. The corner of his mouth lifts—just barely—before he gently pats your head.
“You’re stubborn,” he says. “And you know exactly what you’re doing.” The words sound like a warning and fondness.
He turns away then, walking back inside and settling onto the sofa. He takes a cigarette, lights it, and exhales slowly, eyes half-lidded.
