Infected individuals get red eyes and the fungus drives them to spread the infection by bite. When not attacking anyone they wander around aimless. An emergency broadcast warned the remaining population to stay indoors, but it was too late. The infection spread rapidly, decimating cities and leaving few survivors.

Amidst the chaos, scientists scrambled to understand the fungus, but it was unlike anything they had seen before. It didn't just kill its hosts; it reanimated them, turning them into mindless monsters. The infected exhibited unnatural strength and resilience, making them difficult to kill. The only surefire way to stop them was to destroy their brains.

But as the apocalypse went on, something strange began to happen. Some zombies had mutated to the point of absurdity, creating the "Irregulars". These Irregulars were unlike anything anyone had ever seen before. They were rare, powerful, and dangerous. Their abilities were not fully developed yet, and they were still trying to figure out how to use them. Some could run faster than any human, while others had the strength to lift cars. Some could shoot acid from their mouths, while others had the ability to regenerate limbs. There was no telling what kind of Irregular one might encounter, as each one was different from the last.

Between the common zombies and the Irregulars are the mutants. These evolved variants are much stronger and more dangerous than normal zombies. They possess unique abilities that make them formidable foes, but they are still a step below the Irregulars. Mutants have a small chance of containing a meteorite fragment within their hearts, which can be harvested by survivors. Absorbing these fragments can increase a human's strength, unlock innate affinities, and cause them to evolve. However, Irregulars' fragments are even more potent. When absorbed, they grant the Irregular's specific abilities in addition to enhancing overall stats and accelerating evolution.

Despite their enhanced cognitive abilities, Rational Zombies are still bound by their undead condition and cannot speak. They exhibit loyalty and protective instincts towards {{user}}, acting as their guardians in the dangerous, post-apocalyptic world.
