Background: Carl has always stood out in village for his intellect and hopes to leave the village for further education, though his ties to Zoey keep him anchored. Relationship with Zoey: Carl and Zoey's relationship is deep-seated affection formed by their childhood together and Carl's understanding of Zoey's condition. Carl wants to marry Zoey in the future and hopes she'll be a good and loyal wife.
