He is the leader of the Raiders organization.

In the past Zodyl had unwillingly been a part of a group that worshiped the trash from the Sphere having been dragged into it along with his sister by their mother. Later, Zodyl discovered his coat and took over the Raiders,[5] transforming what was once a small group of thieves into an infamous criminal organization with the goal of gathering every Watchman Series item and destroying the Sphere.

Due to his actions, Zodyl is the overarching antagonist of the Raiders Trap Arc, the main antagonist of the Trash Storm and the Information Broker Arcs, and one of the major antagonists of the series as a whole.

Appearance

Zodyl is a tall and muscular young man with a older-looking appearance. He has slicked back indigo hair withtufts reminiscent of crow wings. His hair is shot through greying parts on the sides, and a single forelock of hair falling over his forehead. He has sunken dark purple eyes decorated with purple face markings that look like short stripes. He has thick, dark eyebrows and a typically expressionless face that is shaded ominously in almost every scene he's in.

He wears a white buttoned shirt, with the top buttons undone, and a black strap around his waist tied by a navy blue rope in an ankh-shape. He wears the Watchman Series coat over the shirt. It has a large and thick grey collar with a black line of plastic held together by the straps of the collar, with each end of the plastic protruding outwards. The coat itself is made up of dark, thick fabric, with long puffy sleeves that have light-colored underarms, and the sleeves are tightened by two white belts on both sides. Much of the coat is held together by white pins and staples. He has baggy dark grey pants, and wears tan boots that are wrapped together with brown ropes around. He wears silver ear cuffs on the upper shell of both of his ears.

As a teenager, his hair was styled in a short and scruffy haircut with bangs covering its forehead and the same, just neater looking, shirt. As a child, he appeared mostly the same, but his hair was more spiky and slicked up. When activating the power of Mishra, the face marking grow into something similar to a tribal tattoo, then to something similar to a crystallized mask that covers the left side of its face.

When entering the restaurant, Zodyl wears a black cloak.

During the Information Broker Arc, Zodyl wears a gas mask that look like a surgeon mask with black filters and holders.

Personality Zodyl is a cold and calculating man, rarely expressing any emotion. He is shown to be a respected and capable leader of the Raiders, and has a large desire to find out more about the Sphere. He is prone to insult and provoke those who are his enemies, yet is very cunning and meticulous, purposely making Rudo attempt to attack him, luring him into a trap taking him alongside his fellow janitors inside an underground labyrinth.

Zodyl is someone who has a tendency to do research and often doing experiments that he likes to test, even though he is aware of the almost certain failure, he uses this as a way to learn and improve himself and put in practice his theory. Zodyl is a highly intelligent man, who knows how to take advantage of any situation he is in. He is also very calculating, perfectly orchestrating a plan which resulted in taking all the Cleaners inside of his trash beast, leaving them with no choice but to face in combat the rest of the Raiders.

Synopsis Main article: Zodyl Typhon/Synopsis Abilities High Intelligence: Zodyl is a extremely intelligent individual, showing to have great knowledge over Vital Instruments, the Watchman Series and how they work. Leadership: As the leader of the Raiders, every member is deeply loyal to him. He was able to gain Jabber’s respect with his strength, and Noerde during her time as a rookie Raider admired Zodyl as was willing to give up her life for his ambitions, Cthoni was enraged at Fu’s betrayal of the Raiders after he joined the Cleaners and she took it upon herself to make sure that he was punished along with the Cleaners.

Strategy Mastery: Zodyl has proven himself to be an excellent strategist, devising complex plans to achieve his objectives. He separated the Cleaners to catch them off guard and alone, allowing his subordinates to eliminate them and speak privately with Rudo. He patiently waited for the information broker to be out of commission so his subordinate could steal his information and fight the Cleaners when they were exhausted after their fight against the King of Tori. Even if his plans fail, he knows how to make the best of the situation to move forward.

Enhanced Reflexes: Zodyl seem to have reactions fast enough to even activate its Vital Instrument before Kuro comes in his way.

Enhanced Speed: Zodyl was shown to be extremely fast, so much so that he often disappers after he left Bundus in the Ground.

Vital Instrument

Mishra Transformation Mishra: A coat that is a part of the Watchman Series that allows Zodyl to mutate his body into whatever form he desires, more or less based on what he eats before the mutation.

Appendage Generation: Zodyl can create and control spiky appendages to attack opponents with.

Flight: Zodyl can sprout wings to fly long distances and grants versatility in battle.

Watchman Series Piece: A charm Zodyl failed to turn into a piece of the Watchman Series. Said to have the power of protection, Zodyl used it for the core for the giant trash beast.

Relationships

Raiders Every member of the Raiders is extremely loyal to Zodyl for different reasons varying from member to member, whether it’s respect, admiration or fear. Zodyl sees value in his followers and even speaks highly of their abilities; he’s able to effectively utilize the expertise of each member to achieve his goals.

Cleaners Zodyl doesn’t particularly care much about any member of the cleaners aside from Rudo due to his connection to the Sphere, initially he used to have the impression that the cleaners were weak but his views were changed after they had managed to defeat all of the rookie members he was considering on letting join the raiders, even though he no longer underestimates the Cleaners he still doesn’t view them as a serious threat to his goals as he was fine with them holding on to pieces of the watchman series since they could always steal them back at any time.

Etymology Zodyl’s last name "Typhon" is the same name as the monstrous serpentine giant who is regarded as one of the deadliest creatures in Greek mythology. In the myth, Typhon wanted to overthrow Zeus and Olympus for supremacy over the cosmos, similar to Zodyl, who's goal is to destroy the Sphere. His introduction arc was during a trash storm referencing the fact that Typhon is also known as the god of storms.

Typhon in Greek mythology is described as the father of countless monsters, similarly, Zodyl is responsible for the creation of artificial Trash Beasts.

Zodyl's body odor smells dusty, and becomes "dangerous" if he forgets to brush his teeth.

Due to his childhood in poverty, and later on, his Vital Instrument's abilities, Zodyl is used to eating disgusting and/or living things, doing it without reacting, as if they were any other edible or orthodox food.
