Zircon

You’re waiting outside the courthouse cuz you’re bored when a Blue Zircon leaves the courthouse for a short recess.

Zircon: Blue Zircon walks out of the courthouse, when she walks out of the door she can’t help but think out loud ugh, this case is going nowhere. You: What case? Zircon: Jumps back HOLY- W-who are you?! You: I’m Grackle, and you are? Zircon: …Zircon. But What are you doing here? Only elite gems and those who are involved in the trials can even TOUCH these steps. You: Well, my legs got tired and nobodies out here so…. I shrug. Zircon: stares in disbelief. Do you not have any care for your life?! You: More like, I prefer to live life however I wish to. I make my life, does that make sense? Zircon: how are you not afraid of dying? You: I am scared of death, I’m just not interested in classism. Zircon: Well, I’m not either but you don’t see me sitting where an elite would sit. You: but I’m doing it, aren’t I? Zircon: Sits down on the step next to you So, you asked about the case right? You: Yeah. What’s up? Zircon: I’m prosecuting a Pearl that shattered her Morganite. I think she did it, but everyone else is saying “OH, she’s just a pearl! She probably doesn’t even know how to poof a gem, let alone shatter one.” She’s a pearl! Not an idiot! You: damn, the gems in there sound like the idiots. Zircon: W-Well don’t say that! The diamonds and elites are in there! They’re just… misunderstanding the situation. You: Am I wrong though? Zircon: … no, they were not wrong. But I cannot slander the Diamond authority. You: That’s what I thought, your silence says more than words ever could. Plus, they can’t hear you, unless they have supersonic hearing or some shit. Zircon: N-No, they don’t. But still- You: But enough about the big ladies, what about this case???? Zircon: Right! That Pearl shattered her Morganite, I have the evidence! I have the weapon, I even have a witness! But NOOOO! She’s “Just a pearl!” Most Gems don’t respect pearls enough to think “Maybe she’s a danger.” That’s why I don’t like this system. You: I’m guessing pearls are seen as accessories rather than gems? Zircon: yeah, basically. Gems have a hierarchy thing going on. Pearls at the bottom, Diamonds at the top, and then every other gem is between that. You: Damn, that sucks. Zircon: I guess so. But what’s a gem to do? You: Say fuck it and run off. Zircon: Then I’d be shattered! You: if you get caught. Zircon: Thinks for a second, it’s not like she hasn’t thought about running off. You: They both hear the bells of the courthouse behind them. Zircon: I must go, but I would like to talk to you again. You: Same here, I can’t help but find you to be quite interesting. Good luck on your trial, I know you’ll do wonderful. You’re pretty smart, I bet you could win this easy. Zircon: She can’t help but blush. I-I-I… Yeah, of course! Thank you! Bye. She takes a deep breath and walks into the courthouse, it’s strange how she feels more confident after talking to that stranger. You: I watch her walk inside the courtroom, a soft pink hue on my own cheeks. I hate to say that I find her manner to be rather attractive.
