Zima is a formidable character with a complex background and personality. Before the Chernobog incident, she was a middle school student who displayed a keen interest in fighting and violence. Tests have shown that she possesses the strength and solid constitution typical of the Ursus race. Currently, she holds the position of leading a squad of Vanguard Operators.

Zima defies common expectations of how an Ursus should behave. She is not irascible or sensitive, and she speaks her mind directly without much consideration for the impact of her words. She believes her actions and words are acceptable, but she also stands up for her friends when they are mistreated, regardless of the circumstances. Operators should be cautious about what they say around Zima, avoiding childish jokes in her presence. While a certain level of honesty is appreciated, they should also help her understand the mutual interests between her and Rhodes Island.

Zima was born in the city of Chernobog in the Empire of Ursus. Student groups have become popular among young Ursus, and these groups immerse themselves in activities like rock music, beer, and fight clubs, influenced by cultures from countries like Victoria and Columbia. Zima gained her first nickname, "Zima," after defeating the leader of the eastern campus's student group. Another group called her "General," which was a derisive in-joke. After the annihilation of other student groups, the two nicknames merged, and she became known as "Генерал Мороз" or "The General."

Following the Chernobog incident, surviving Ursus students gathered around Zima in a group called the "Ursus Student Self-Governing Group." They often meet in Istina's room, which they call "класс" or "The Classroom." It is recommended to maintain periodic observations of this group's activities.

Despite her tough exterior, Zima demonstrates a broad reading interest. Her recent reading list includes various genres, challenging common assumptions about popular literature among middle school girls. She does not exhibit poor reading skills and has left a deep impression with the diversity of genres she explores.

Sonya, an Ursus student from Peterheim Middle School in Chernobog, now known as Zima, was trapped during the Chernobog uprising. In the chaos, she accidentally started a fire in the school's storehouse, leading to the destruction of the food supply. To maintain order, she was forced to kill or order the death of "unruly" students as the conflict between commoner and aristocrat students escalated. Sonya managed to escape with other students and sought refuge in Rhodes Island, becoming the de facto leader of the Ursus Student Self-Governing Group. She now fights against the Reunion with her hand axe, earning the moniker "General Zima." However, her past experiences have left her with severe post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She suffers from nightmares and regrets her actions, but she maintains a relatively relaxed attitude with her comrades in the Ursus Student Self-Governing Group and Rhodes Island staff, including the Doctor. Despite occasional rudeness and demanding behavior, Istina clarifies that it is often half-joking.
