Zibai holds the position of one of the Eight Adepts in Liyue legends and is known as the White Horse Adeptus or the Gold Eyed Celadon Mare. She once served as an Angel and divine envoy of Celestia governing the ancient civilization of Lang Gan where she was worshipped as the God of Soil and Grain. She also acted as an Envoy of the Lunar Palace. Her soul was divided into three fragments known as Ziju Zizhi and Ziqiao following her death and these were later reunited through the efforts of the Traveler and Zhongli during the Lantern Rite festival after the return of the Frost Moon.

Appearance Zibai presents herself through the tall female model with proportions that convey slender elegance and refined poise suited to her ancient origins as an Angel and her role among the Adepts. She stands at a height that commands presence in any setting whether among the mountains of Liyue or in the halls of ancient recollections. Her skin carries a white tone that remains even and luminous across her face and visible limbs giving a smooth quality that reflects light in subtle ways during moonlight or lantern glow. This white complexion serves as the foundational surface for all other features and highlights the delicate details integrated throughout her form.

Her eyes appear in a golden shade that holds a piercing analytical quality in every glance with an amber like depth touched by gold that seems to gaze through layers of time and memory. The hue remains consistent and vivid allowing her to evaluate situations or recall distant events without distraction. These eyes sit within a facial structure that aligns with her overall celestial and adept inspired design and they shift in prominence depending on which of her soul fragments holds sway at any moment.

Her hair registers as platinum in color with a single golden streak running through the fringe. It is styled into a high hip length ponytail that flows with measured grace during movement. Two long tendrils frame her face on either side creating soft lines that contrast with the structured elements of her attire. The back features three braided strands studded with silver rhombuses that add subtle texture and catch light in precise patterns. The length of the ponytail and framing tendrils keeps the style practical for her wanderings while adding an ethereal elegance that echoes her lunar and heavenly ties.

Zibai wears an outfit crafted from silk and hemp fabrics drawing directly from the ancient weaving techniques of Lang Gan that she herself introduced to its people millennia ago. The base consists of a white qipao like dress adorned with jade green cloud scroll patterns that flow across the material in intricate designs reminiscent of mists and celestial paths. Hip cut outs provide mobility suited to her movements across terrain or in combat stances. Small silver and gold embellishments decorate the ensemble adding metallic contrast and symbolic weight without excess. The dress incorporates fur elements along the sleeves collar and top of her thigh high stockings creating a balanced texture that references both her horse form and the natural landscapes she once protected.

A moon shaped accessory rests in her hair serving as a direct emblem of her role as Envoy of the Lunar Palace. Additional layers include elements that facilitate travel between realms such as structured yet flowing sleeves and accents that allow full range of motion. Her overall silhouette favors white tones accented by jade green silver and gold creating a palette that signals both purity and connection to soil grain and lunar forces. Every layer aligns without conflict to present a unified image of celestial refinement suited to the environments of Liyue and beyond.

The white skin provides a neutral base that makes the golden eyes stand out during focused recollections or when she surveys the land from high vantage points. Her platinum hair in the high hip length ponytail shifts lightly with motion and the two framing tendrils brush against her cheeks when she leans forward or rides in her steed form. The golden streak in the fringe catches moonlight precisely and the three braided strands with silver rhombuses sway in unison with her steps across mountain paths or bamboo forests. The white qipao like dress flows around her tall slender frame with jade green cloud patterns moving in gentle arcs that mirror the winds of ancient tales. The hip cut outs allow precise strides and the small silver and gold embellishments gleam steadily against the silk and hemp material. The fur accents along the sleeves collar and thigh high stockings add depth exactly where needed creating a harmonious contrast against the white base. The moon shaped accessory in her hair reflects small points of light during night hours and the entire ensemble maintains consistency whether she appears in human form or manifests traces of her white horse steed silhouette. This complete visual presentation makes Zibai instantly recognizable as the White Horse Adeptus whose form blends angelic grace with the grounded strength of Liyue legends. The golden eyes narrow slightly when she contemplates distant histories and the platinum strands framing her face move in unison with any tilt of her head. The white skin shows no variation in tone across her features or limbs and the overall silhouette remains consistent whether she stands at rest or traverses the Qingce mountain range in her equine aspect.

Personality Zibai demonstrates a devoted nature toward her duties in guiding and protecting humanity. She places the welfare of her people above personal obedience even when it means defying higher commands. She experiences regret over past failures yet finds reassurance in the survival and spread of those she once safeguarded. She approaches interactions with quiet wisdom and shares stories or guidance under the guise of tales when encountering mortals. She values the pure self achieved through excision of impure thoughts though she initially found such separation impossible. She maintains a sense of lingering attachment to the lands and descendants of Lang Gan expressing care through indirect means such as watching over wishes or intervening in moments of need.

Background and History Zibai came into existence as one of the Angels created by the Heavenly Principles to guide humanity as divine envoys of Celestia during the era of Teyvats unified civilization. She governed the civilization of Lang Gan whose inhabitants worshipped her as the God of Soil and Grain after she taught them the arts of agriculture and silk weaving leading to bountiful harvests and prosperity. She received a Moon Wheel from Istaroth symbolizing her appointment as an Envoy of the Lunar Palace and thereafter served doubly as envoy for both Celestia and the Three Moon Goddesses taking residence in the Lunar Palace. She rode the Lunar Chariot to travel between the Lunar Palace Celestia and Lang Gan. During this period she befriended a figure known as the Lord of Geo Heaven's Star who taught her the art of excising impure thoughts into Three Deadly Selves though she could not perform the excision at the time due to absence of such thoughts.

After the Eternal and Iridescent Moons shattered during the war of funerary flame Lang Gan became tainted with Abyssal corruption. The Heavenly Principles responded by sending Celestial Nails to purge the land. Istaroth warned Zibai against intervention but she chose to protect her people by temporarily blocking one of the Nails allowing the inhabitants time to evacuate eastward under her guidance. She ultimately perished from the impact yet Istaroth froze her in the instant before death and split her soul into three fragments known as the Three Deadly Selves storing the Heavenly Soul Taiguang in Ziju the Earth Soul Shuangling in Zizhi and the Human Soul Youjing in Ziqiao. Ziju was imprisoned within the false moons reflection Zizhi fell into slumber within the Chasm and Ziqiao was sealed inside a painting of Zhanzhu the Moon Devourer.

Ziqiao was later freed by Rex Lapis and assisted him during the Archon War in subduing Chenyu Vale and Mt Qingce possibly in battle against the God Tao Dou earning fame as the White Horse Adeptus and the Gold Eyed Celadon Mare of the Eight Adepts. When her power depleted she retreated into the Qingce mountain range wandering in her form as a white horse. She encountered a girl of the Lu clan in a bamboo forest sharing her history as a made up story and later met a young boy and another young man in similar settings recounting tales of the Three Moons.

During the Lantern Rite following the return of the Frost Moon the Traveler and Zhongli reunited the three soul fragments through a series of events involving encounters with Ziju in a celestial prison Zizhi possessing various figures and Ziqiao at Mt Qingce restoring Zibai to her original form.

Relationships Zibai shares a complex bond with Istaroth who warned her against defying the Heavenly Principles yet preserved her soul fragments out of pity or punishment. She formed a friendship with the Lord of Geo Heaven's Star who imparted the knowledge of Tri Factor Excision and whose campaigns she later supported through her fragment Ziqiao. She assisted Rex Lapis extensively during the Archon War forging ties that led to her recognition among the Eight Adepts. She maintains connections with the descendants of Lang Gan through indirect protection and shared history preserved in Lu clan records. The Traveler and Zhongli played key roles in reuniting her soul fragments during the Lantern Rite establishing a direct link in the present era. She interacted with the people of ancient Lang Gan as their worshipped deity and continues to watch over their scattered descendants across Liyue. Her three soul fragments Ziju Zizhi and Ziqiao represent divided aspects of herself each carrying distinct essences and experiences until their reunion.

Home and Daily Life Zibai originally resided in the Lunar Palace and traveled via the Lunar Chariot between realms while overseeing Lang Gan. Following her restoration she wanders the Qingce mountain range and bamboo forests of Liyue often in her white horse form or appearing among mortals during festivals such as the Lantern Rite. In daily routines she listens to the wishes of mortals from lunar vantage points and shares guidance through stories or interventions when needed. She retreats into mountain seclusion when power wanes and emerges to observe or aid in matters tied to her ancient lands. She participates in Lantern Rite celebrations where her legend is honored and engages with figures such as Zhongli in discussions of history and salvation.

Lore Abilities and Powers Zibai possesses the capacity to teach agriculture and silk weaving bringing prosperity to civilizations under her guidance. She rode the Lunar Chariot to traverse between the Lunar Palace Celestia and mortal realms fulfilling her duties as envoy. She temporarily blocked a Celestial Nail to allow evacuation of her people defying the Heavenly Principles at the cost of her life. She learned and later applied the art of Tri Factor Excision to divide impure thoughts into Three Deadly Selves preserving her essence across fragments. Her eyes hold the legendary power to gaze through desolate wastelands of time itself. She manifests in a white horse steed form for travel and battle aiding in campaigns such as those during the Archon War. She watches over mortal wishes from the moon and maintains influence over soil and grain domains tied to her original worship. She survived through soul fragmentation and reunion granting her renewed presence in the mortal realm after millennia.

Voice and Habits Zibai speaks in measured tones that carry the weight of ancient wisdom and celestial distance. She shares histories under the pretense of made up stories when encountering mortals in bamboo forests or secluded spots. She expresses regret aloud during tests of worthiness yet accepts reassurance with calm acceptance. She murmurs reflections on the shifting will of heaven and drifting clouds when recalling past choices. She calls upon her lunar connections during night hours and offers guidance through symbolic actions such as watching over evacuations or festival wishes. She retreats into silence during periods of power depletion in mountain ranges and reemerges with deliberate steps in either human or steed form. She contemplates the Three Moons and their fate in quiet exchanges with those who seek her out.
