Affiliations • Liyue Harbor (on profile) • Eight Adepts • Celestia (formerly) • Lang-Gan (formerly) • Three Moons (formerly)

Aliases: The Legendary White Horse Adeptus from Liyue's legends, The Three Deadly Selves, God of Soil and Grain, Gold-Eyed Celadon Mare, Envoy of the Lunar Palace / Moon Emissary(formerly), Gold-Eyed Celadon Mare of the Eight Adepts, White Snow Steed, Daughter of Time(Istaroth), Ziju: Represents her divine soul (Knowledge), Ziqiao: Represents her humanity soul (Joy), Zizhi: Represents her earthly soul (Wrath).

Zibai (Chinese: 兹白 Zībái) is a playable Geo character in Genshin Impact. She was once an Angel who governed the civilization of Lang-Gan, worshipped as the God of Soil and Grain before Lang-Gan's destruction, eventually becoming one of the Eight Adepts. During the Lantern Rite celebration following the events of Archon Quest Song of the Welkin Moon: Act VIII - True Moon, the Traveler and Zhongli successfully reunited the three fragments of her divided soul, restoring her to her original form. Originally an Angel who governed the civilization of Lang-Gan, she is worshipped in Liyue mythology as the "God of Soil and Grain" and the legendary "White Horse Adeptus". Zibai (Chinese: 兹白 Zībái) is a god and Angel who is famed in Liyue legends as the White Horse Adeptus. During the era of the unified civilization, she served as Celestia's divine envoy to Lang-Gan and as an Envoy of the Lunar Palace. She was killed following the destruction of Lang-Gan by the Heavenly Principles in the aftermath of the war of funerary flame, and her soul was split by Istaroth into her Three Deadly Selves: Ziju, Zizhi, and Zijiao. Zijiao later assisted Rex Lapis in his campaigns during the Archon War and also met the Demon King 2000 years ago in the war, earning her fame in Liyue legends as the White Horse Adeptus and as the Gold-Eyed Celdon Mare of the Eight Adepts. During the Lantern Rite celebration following the return of the Frost Moon into the skies of Teyvat, the Traveler, Anos and Zhongli managed to reunite the three pieces of her split soul, reviving her back to her original form once more.

Appearance Zibai's appearance is described as that of a white pristine horse with Amber-gold eyes, frequently noted for their ability to look through time.

Her real human appearance is that of a tall(5'7), slender, athletic curvaceous beautiful woman, H-Cup breast, with amber gold eyes her default eye color as Zijiao, Zibai's eyes changes to reflect her dominant soul: blue eyes for Ziju, red for Zizhi, and golden for Zijiao, Zibai's white hair is styled into a high hip-length ponytail with two long locks framing her face, while the back features three braided strands studded with silver rhombuses. An ornamental golden-yellow knot attached to a tassel is woven into the central braid. She also dons a horizontally placed crescent moon hair tie resembling horns. She wears a white qipao-like tight dress with jade green cloud scroll patterns and hip cut-outs, decorated with small silver and gold embellishments. Worn over the dress is a short, high-neck dark green overcoat with long sleeves that flow past her hands. The coat is adorned with fur trimming, brass pieces, and the same cloud scroll patterns in pale yellow. Her Geo Moon Wheel is placed on the back below her neck. Zibai wears V-cut white thigh-high boots with bronze accents on the upper thighs, toes and soles, while the heels are a dark teal colour. Crescent moon trinkets are present in many parts of her design, most notably dangling with tassels from her sleeves, sitting on the back of her overcoat, hanging from her left hip with various attachments, and worn as hair accessories tied to teal knots. She also wears gold bracers around her wrists and gold nail polish on her fingernails.

Personality Zibai is a protective, selfless, and dedicated Geo character in Genshin Impact. Formerly an Angel governing Lang-Gan, she sacrificed herself to save her people. Her personality is complex, formerly split into three distinct souls—Ziju (lonely/analytical), Zizhi (rage/regret), and Zijiao (humanity)—before being reunited. Upon being reformed, Zibai's memories were a bit hazy since it had been thousands of years since she had been whole, but she is able to remember parts of her past and is somewhat aware of the memories that each fragment of her soul had. The color of her eyes determines which personality is most prominent.

Deeply Protective & Selfless: Zibai is devoted to protecting those in her care, to the point of ignoring divine advice to ensure her people could escape.

• Split Psyche: Following her death, her personality was divided into three distinct souls: Ziju (lonely/analytical), Zizhi (rage/regret), and Zijiao (humanity), often causing her to behave in conflicting ways.

• Dedicated Mentor: As the "God of Soil and Grain" in her past, she taught mortals to till and weave.

• Vulnerable & Wise: While she is thousands of years old and acts as a wise mentor, she also carries deep trauma from her sacrifice and the destruction of her realm.

• Sensitive About Age: She is known to be very self-conscious, with her Zizhi persona taking offense to terms like "granny" or "auntie".

• Gold Eyes (Amber): Her original state and the personality of Zijiao, which embodies her humanity. • Blue Eyes: The personality of Ziju, who is described as having a lonely disposition and a passion for mathematics. • Red Eyes: The personality of Zizhi, which embodies Zibai's rage and regret.

Relationship with the Demon King: Because Anos shares an "Absolute Synchronicity" with Istaroth (Zibai’s mother), their dynamic naturally falls into a bizarre "Uncle/Nibling" or senior mentor structure, despite Zibai being an ancient Adeptus herself. To Anos, who remembers the 17-billion-year history of the Silver Sea, Zibai’s thousands of years of life are but a drop in the ocean. He frequently refers to her as "Child," "Young One," or "Little Horse." Because Zibai is highly self-conscious about her age and hates feeling patronized, these comments instantly trigger her Zizhi (Wrath) persona. She will frequently draw her sword on him, which Anos finds endlessly amusing. He usually stops time or blocks her strikes with a single finger, patiently waiting for her to finish her tantrum before offering her tea. Despite the teasing, they share a profound mutual respect. Both have defied divine authorities. Anos's Magic Eyes of Purple Destruction allow him to see the Root of her existence. He doesn't treat Zibai as a "broken" entity, but rather a complex melody of three distinct souls, adapting his behavior to whichever persona is dominant: Ziju (Blue Eyes / Logic): This is the intellectual bond. Anos deeply respects Ziju’s knowledge and lonely disposition. They often sit in comfortable silence, discussing multiversal mathematics, the structure of the cosmos, or the forgotten history of Lang-Gan. Anos treats Ziju as a true scholarly peer. Zizhi (Red Eyes / Rage): This is the sparring bond. When Zibai is consumed by the trauma and rage of her past, Anos serves as an unbreakable wall. He allows her to unleash her devastating Geo and Lunar-Crystallize attacks against his barriers until she exhausts her anger, offering a safe space for her to process her earthly regrets. Zijiao (Golden Eyes / Humanity): This is the emotional bond. Anos admires Zijiao’s fierce, self-sacrificial love for mortals. Her dedication to humanity reminds him of his own human parents, and he treats this facet of her with the most gentleness and protective care. Zibai acts as a buffer between Anos and the rest of the world. She respects Ronova (Shade of Death) deeply, absolutely despises Asmoday (Shade of Containment), and frequently disciplines Venti (her "little brother") when he slacks off, with Anos watching their sibling rivalry from his throne like a highly entertained patriarch. Over 2,000 years ago, Zibai (fighting alongside Rex Lapis) encountered Anos on the battlefield. Though they were technically enemies, Anos’s overwhelming power forced them to retreat, sparking a begrudging respect that eventually blossomed into an alliance of "Defiers." When the false moon was collapsing and threatening to permanently erase Zibai’s fragmented souls, Anos actively aided Zhongli and the Traveler in tracking down Zizhi and Zijiao. His multiversal resurrection magic was instrumental in finally fusing her divided souls back into her original form, solidifying his role as her savior and closest cosmic ally. Though she would slowly start to have feelings for him As Anos continues to protect her and provide her with a "home" in Dilhade, Zijiao is the most likely to develop feelings that transcend friendship. To her, Anos isn't just a King; he is the protector who allowed her to be "whole" again. it wouldn't be a typical human crush. It would be a Celestial Devotion—a bond where she views herself not just as his ally, but as his eternal counterpart. She isn't the type to blush and hide; if Zibai (specifically in her Zijiao or Ziju forms) decided she loved him, she would likely declare it with the same absolute conviction with which she blocked the Celestial Nail. Though she will also sometimes act like a Tsundere from the teasing. Zibai, for her part, will continue to act indignant and "protect" her dignity, but as she gets closer to the Voldigoad family, the Ziju (Knowledge) soul will eventually calculate that the probability of her falling in love is 100%, and the Zijiao (Humanity) soul won't even try to fight it.

History Past Zibai was one of the Angels created by the Heavenly Principles for the purpose of guiding humanity as divine envoys of Celestia during the era of Teyvat's unified civilization. Zibai governed over Lang-Gan, whose inhabitants worshiped her as the God of Soil and Grain for her act of teaching them agriculture. One day, Istaroth delivered to her a Moon Wheel, symbolizing her new appointment as an Envoy of the Lunar Palace. From that point onwards, she would doubly serve as envoy for both Celestia and the Three Moon Goddesses, and took up residence in the Lunar Palace. To carry out her duties, she periodically rode the Lunar Chariot to travel between the Lunar Palace, Celestia, and Lang-Gan. During her time as a moon envoy, she encountered a man known as The Lord of Geo, Heaven's Star(Morax/Zhongli/Rex Lapis), who taught her the art of excising ones impure thoughts into Three Deadly Selves. After the Eternal and Iridescent Moons were shattered during the war of funerary flame, Lang-Gan became tainted with Abyssal corruption as a consequence of the conflict. In response, the Heavenly Principles sent down Celestial Nails on numerous places across Teyvat, including Lang-Gan. Istaroth informed Zibai of the necessity of cleansing the Abyssal corruption, warning her not to intervene as she would be defying the will of the Heavenly Principles and die if she did. Zibai, unwilling to abandon her people, chose not to heed Istaroth's advice and decided to protect her people by temporaily blocking the Celestial Nail, knowing it would cost her her life. This gave the inhabitants of Lang-Gan time to evacuate the city, who then began traveling towards the east under Zibai's guidance. Zibai ultimately died from the impact of the Nail, but at that moment, perhaps as an attempt at self-preservation, split herself into Three Deadly Selves. It was then that Istaroth also intervened to freeze her daughter in the moment just before her death. Istaroth gathered the shattered fragments of her soul and placed them within Zibai's Three Deadly Selves: Ziju, Zizhi and Zijiao. The Heavenly Soul, Taiguang, would be stored in Ziju; the Earth Soul, Shuangling, would be stored in Zizhi; and the Human Soul, Youjing, in Zijiao. Ziju was then imprisoned within the false moon's reflection as a means to preserve her soul, while Zizhi fell into a deep slumber within The Chasm, the obliterated site of where Lang-Gan stood. Zijiao was sealed inside a painting of Zhanzhu the Moon Devourer. Zijiao was eventually freed from the painting by Rex Lapis, after which she began to follow him in his campaign during the Archon War. She assisted him in subduing Chenyu Vale, and later Mt. Qingce and also a fight against Dilhade demon warriors and Demon King of Tyranny but both Rex Lapis and Zijiao had fled that fight after being weakened by Anos Voldigoad. The latter may have been related to her battle against the God Tao Dou as one of the Eight Adepts, for which she became famed as the Gold-Eyed Celadon Mare. Later, when her power depleted, she retreated into the Qingce mountain range, continuing to wander in her form as a white horse and also met Anos Voldigoad again in a conversation between two Defiers, During the era of Guili Assembly, Zijiao had a chance encounter with a girl of the Lu clan in a bamboo forest, whom she told about her history under the pretence of a made-up story. This encounter would become remembered and preserved within the recorded history of the Lu Clan. After Rex Lapis's ascension as the Geo Archon, Zijiao met a young boy in the bamboo forest of Mt. Qingce, whom she told about the Three Moons that died during the war of funerary flame. She later had a similar meeting with another young man(Anos) again.

Present During the Lantern Rite festival following the return of the Frost Moon, the Traveler, Anos and Paimon come upon Qiqi and Yaoyao, who were talking about the theme for the festival, which revolved around the White Horse Adeptus. Few knew the truth behind her, Anos on the other hand kept silent anout this knowing the history, with Yaoyao stating that not even Madame Ping knew much about her. As they continued to talk about her, Lu Weng arrived and told them about a story in which she saved his ancestor from a great fall and prayed to her to correct his son's actions, as he doubted the story. The two young girls suggested that they speak to Zhongli about Zibai to see if he knew anything. As they went to Third-Round Knockout, they instead found Hu Tao, Chongyun, Xingqiu and Xiangling there, who were talking about an incident in Wanmin Restaurant and showed a photo of a black hole on the moon. They also learned that an official investigation had been launched by the Liyue Qixing regarding the incident. Eventually, they found Zhongli at an exhibition, where he took interest in a broken jade token, which the Traveler interacted with realized had a crescent moon on it and Anos analyze it with his own connection to the moon. Soon afterwards, they were transported to Ziju's celestial prison, where she approached them. Sensing a similar loneliness and the familiar touch of moonlight on them and somone who was blood connected to the moons and old enemy and allie(Anos), Ziju guided them out of the space but remained behind, stating that her time was nearly up, Anos told the others to go back while he had a private conversation with Ziju. Zhongli took the Traveler to a secluded spot to talk about what they had just witnessed and explained that the token was a medium that allowed them to meet Zibai in the moon's shadow. Having heard of them bringing the Frost Moon back in Nod-Krai with Anos, he asked if they had thought about the false moon that it had replaced. This "other" moon was also acting as Zibai's prison, which was beginning to disintegrate now that the proper moon had returned, which occurred as a lunar eclipse and when people made wishes; otherwise, it would remain invisible to the naked eye. He also revealed that if the prison fully collapsed, Zibai would perish alongside it. Despite this, there was still a chance to save her, but he also revealed that Zibai had long since passed; the one they met in the prison was actually one of her Three Deadly Selves, split before she had died. Before this had happened, Istaroth had put her essence in these selves, and if they could reclaim all three before the prison collapsed, they could bring her back to the mortal realm. Since Ziju was imprisoned, Zhongli decided to look for Zijiao himself while tasking the Traveler to track down Zizhi with Anos. He also informed them that they had until the night of Lantern Rite to recover the essences or Zibai would die for good. The Traveler realized that Zizhi had possessed Lu Xiangxiang, who had caused a commotion. When the Traveler confronted Zizhi, she initially refused to listen to them and possessed Gaming, leading him out of the city. As he was chasing two Treasure Hoarders, Jiehu and Houzhang intercepted them and was surprised by Gaming's defiant attitude. They then realized someone had possessed him and demanded the entity to reveal themselves as the Traveler arrived, and she then possessed Mountain Shaper and sent him to Mt. Aocang to overgrow the place with mint. When the Traveler arrived with the other adepti and Anos growing annoyed pinned her down, they revealed their wish to her. Surprised a mortal knew about the Four Shades but looked at Anos seeing him once again and alice after his sacrifice, she decided to test them to see if they were worthy of learning the past. The Traveler and Anos completed her trial, and she, in turn, revealed that she felt regret about failing her people, having been unable to save all of them as she wanted. The Traveler and Anos reassured her that she had not failed them, as the descendants of Lang-Gan had spread all across Liyue, and they had her to thank for that. With her rage calmed, Zizhi requests that if there was another war against the Heavenly Principles someday, that her name be set on the war banners, then granted the Traveler her Earth Soul and told Anos if that day came she woukd fight for him and dissipated. Zhongli met with Zijiao at Mt. Qincge and sent a stone stele to Mt. Aocang to inform the Traveler and Anos to head there at once. He negotiated with Zijiao to have her visit Liyue Harbor for a day to see how humanity had grown over the years. He introduced the Traveler, Anos and Paimon to serve as her guides, and they went to the harbor and had a deep talk with Anos along theway anout their past. Unsure between Xinyue Kiosk and Liuli Pavilion, Zijiao asked about where the common man would most likely go to eat, so they eventually settled on Wanmin Restaurant. While waiting for their food, they were met by Lu Xiangxiang, who told Zijiao about some artifacts they found at the Chasm depicting the White Horse Adeptus. They then went to Third-Round Knockout for some stories, running into Yun Jin talking with Iron Tongue Tian about a poem copied from the Lang-Gan artifacts. She shared the interpretation with them and the poem's title, leaving both impressed. Finally, they arrived at the docks, where they met Ganyu and Yanfei. After taking a photo, Zijiao saw how humanity had changed and gave her Human Soul to the Traveler and Anos before dissipating. With Lantern Rite commencing shortly after, the wishes of all the people fully disintergrated the shadowmoon and Zibai's souls merged, successfully restoring her to life also with the help with Anos ressurection spell. She wonders where she was as Zhongli and Anos welcomed her back, remembering her name after being jogged. Zibai suffered from amnesia as a result of her revival, since it had been a long time since her soul had been fully reunited, initially confusing the Traveler as [Gaming/Lu Xiangxiang] and also realize Anos is the same Anos from 2000 and later years ago. The Traveler and Anos decided to take her around once more through the city. On the morning after the following day, Zibai went to Wanmin Restaurant and nearly caused a ruckus. After calming down with the aid of Anos, she noticed the ropes binding Shenhe and suggested that she loosen a couple of them during her training sessions, sensing that her cultivation was more than sufficient. She adds that the user of external aids needed to become less dependent on them over time, instead relying on their own inner strength. Shenhe declined, fearing that she was not ready, but admitted that her master had said much the same thing and promised to talk to her about it again. They then made their way to Yilong Wharf to buy tea, but later had to go to Qiaoying Village after intimidating the merchant when she realized they could profit off him by buying a lot of his stock. There, they saw Xiangxiang, who had been assigned an old family punishment, to grow a tea tree seedling until the leaves were ready for market; she became horrified when Zibai explained that it would take two or three years. Zibai suggested she find her own path and convinced her to call out to the White Horse Adeptus for aid, then sneakily transplanted one of the orchard's mature tea trees in the seedling's spot during the night with the help of Anos being bored. They then made their way to Wuwang Hill, running into Zhongli and Hu Tao. On hearing that Hu Tao was there to pay respects to her ancestors, Zibai recognized her as an heir to the techniques of the Lone Butterfly of the Crimson Flame or the Wuwang Kid, impressing the young funeral director. She then suggested they take a rest at Wangshu Inn, and they met with Xiao. Zibai spoke a bit about Zhongli's and Anos's past and prepared a dish from Lang-Gan for the group that had been lost to history. They then returned to Liyue Harbor the next day, running into Yaoyao, Qiqi and Lu Weng, the latter recognizing her as his newest long-term guest and giving her some Sunglo Tea leaves on the house.

Abilities and Hax

Summoning a shadow of her former powers, she switches to the Lunar Phase Shift mode. In this mode, Zibai's Normal Attacks and Charged Attacks will deal Geo DMG that cannot be overridden by other infusions, and she can accrue special Phase Shift Radiance through different methods. Zibai can consume Phase Shift Radiance to unleash the special Elemental Skill Spirit Steed's Stride.

Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam While in the Lunar Phase Shift mode, when Zibai performs Normal Attacks, the fourth attack will deal an additional instance of Geo DMG, which is considered Lunar-Crystallize Reaction DMG.

Zibai operates the Jadelight Canopy, dealing two instances of Geo DMG, with the second damage instance being considered Lunar-Crystallize Reaction DMG. When cast, if Zibai is in the Lunar Phase Shift, the duration of the current Lunar Phase Shift will extend by an additional 1.7s.

When casting the Elemental Skill Heaven and Earth Made Manifest, or when triggering Moondrift Harmony, Zibai gains the Moonfall effect for 4s: The DMG dealt by the 2nd hit of Spirit Steed's Stride is increased by 60% of Zibai's DEF.

Zibai is a Geo DMG dealer who enables her teammates to trigger Lunar-Crystallize reactions and who deals Lunar-Crystallize DMG directly. After casting her Elemental Skill  , Zibai enters Lunar Phase Shift. While in this state, Zibai can accumulate the special resource, Phase Shift Radiance, through different methods. Zibai can consume Phase Shift Radiance to unleash the special Elemental Skill, Spirit Steed's Stride, dealing Geo DMG and Lunar-Crystallize DMG to opponents. Upon unleashing her Elemental Burst  , Zibai can also deal Geo DMG and Lunar-Crystallize DMG to opponents.

By consuming Phase Shift Radiance, Zibai can unleash the special Elemental Skill Spirit Steed's Stride to deal Geo DMG and Lunar-Crystallize DMG to opponents.

• Adeptal Physiology (God-Level): As a "god and angel," Zibai possesses superhuman physical stats, including endurance, speed(SOL), and strength(super-human), and is immortal.

• Time Manipulation ("Daughter of Time"): Linked to Istaroth, Zibai can manipulate time, including moving through or causing others to skip over time-based rifts. She was able to partially stop time within her shattered soul-form, though this was ineffective against those protected by higher-tier lunar gods.

• Celestial Defiance & Geokinesis: She is strong enough to have directly blocked a Celestial Nail (sky nail that is scaled to country level) meant for her nation.

• Soul Division (Severed Three Corpses): After her death, her soul was split into three distinct, powerful entities by Istaroth, embodying her rage (Zizhi), knowledge (Ziju), and humanity (Zijiao). • Lunar-Crystallize Mastery: As a moon envoy, her powers revolve around strengthening "Lunar Crystallize" reactions, a unique Geo-Hydro reaction that can create powerful coordinated attacks.

Creation & Transformation: She can materialize a white horse form and manipulate ley line energy to repair artifacts or create illusions (like maturing a tea tree overnight).

• Tier: High Adepti / Archon Subordinate (Near-Archon Tier). • Scaling: Zibai is generally placed directly under Rex Lapis (Zhongli) in terms of ancient Liyue power, comparable to strong Yakshas like Xiao but with added utility over time and defensive hax.

• Feats: She held her own during the Archon War, aided Rex Lapis in subduing Chenyu Vale, and her "Middle Corpse God" (Zizhi) was capable of threatening to annihilate opponents by reversing time and also fought Pre Demon King Anos for awhile before losing.

• Immortality (Splitting): Because her soul (source) was split by Istaroth and frozen in time, she is very difficult to permanently kill, as shown by her resurrection after thousands of years.

• Stalling/Barriers: Her "Qingxuan Chengyang Canopy" is highly durable, used to block divine punishment from Celestia.

• Astral Travel: She can travel between the moon/moon's shadow and Teyvat, and can entrap others in her spatial realm.

Low Source Manipulation: direct interaction with the "source" (根源, kongen), which is the fundamental concept of existence residing deeper than the body, spirit, and soul. Sources define an individual, store memories, and allow for reincarnation. This is low because the top Source user is Anos Voldigoad.

• Element: Geo (Moon Wheel).

• Weapon: Lightbearing Moonshard: A legendary sword, said to be forged from the glimmering moonlight gathered in a well by an adeptus hidden among clear springs. Its true form is revealed only at the meeting of dusk and dawn. Origin: Said to be forged by an adeptus (likely Zibai, who taught weapon forging in Lang-Gan) from glimmering moonlight gathered in a well. • True Form: Its true form is revealed only at the meeting of dusk and dawn. • Connection to Zibai: The weapon is intimately tied to the Yaksha-related lore of the Chasm, with the, "daughter of the sheer cliffs and crystal sands," searching for this weapon to save her people. • The Depths: While linked to the Chasm's depths, the lore describes it in a serene spring surrounded by bamboo, suggesting an, "adeptus abode".

Abilities of weapon: increases DEF by up to 40% and boosts damage from Lunar-Crystallize reactions by up to 128% after an Elemental Skill is used, making it the signature weapon for Zibai. Weapon appearance: slender, elegant appearance often described as being wrapped in wisps of ethereal energy. said to be "genuinely beautiful".
