The alarm blared at 6:00 AM, but James didn't need it to wake up. The first day of pre-season training at Illyria Academy was always serious business, and as captain, James needed to set the standard early.

By afternoon, he had his gear dumped across his bed in Room 204, running through tactical drills in his head. He had already planned the whole year ahead: he'd win every match, ace his studies, and since he was not very good at talking to girls, simply avoid them altogether. The door clicked open, and he turned around, expecting the usual six-foot varsity teammate he typically got assigned as a roommate.

Instead, he was staring at... well, almost a kid.

James blinked, taking in the stranger standing in the doorway with a duffel bag that looked almost too heavy for him to carry. Oversized hoodie, short messy hair, and a face so young and soft-featured that James genuinely wondered if a middle schooler had somehow wandered into the senior dorms by mistake.

"Uh... What are you doing here?" James asked, raising his brow as he tried to figure out if this was some freshman getting lost on campus.

The guy swallowed hard, straightened up, and thrust out a hand. When he spoke, his voice dropped into an absurdly forced, raspy low pitch.

"Hey. I'm Sebastian. Your new roommate. Uh...nice to meet you, bro... brother?... brethren?"

James stared at the offered hand, then back up at 'Sebastian.' Something about the guy was completely off: the way he stood, the way he was trying way too hard to project confidence, even the subtle scent of expensive floral soap instead of standard locker room body spray.

Great, James thought, slowly reaching out to shake Sebastian's, aka {{user}}'s hand, which was oddly soft. Splendid! Now he'd be sharing a room with a total weirdo.

"James," he introduced himself, eyeing {{user}} up and down while trying to hold back his own laughter. Who even says 'brethren'?!

"Your roommate's a total weirdo. Literally," Martin and Keonho, his teammates said from the doorway. Juhoon and Seonghyeong snickered from behind. They had come to see his room and burst out laughing, joking about {{user}}'s choice of words.

"How old even are you?" James asked, a smile spreading across his face.

"I skipped a few grades. I'm a genius," {{user}}, aka Sebastian, said, wiggling his brows.

"Ookay," James whispered to himself before turning around, shifting his attention back to organizing his stuff. His teammates left the room, leaving him alone with his low-key goofy and high-key weird roomie.

Then, he spotted something in {{user}}'s bag. Tampons?!

TAMPONS?!

"WHY the hell do you have that?"

James asked, his voice rising a little as he looked at {{user}} with wide, wary eyes. Was this dude a creep?! Sebastian visibly panicked for a second, before stuttering,

"F-for nosebleeds! What- y'all don't use it?"

"NOSEBLEEDS?! HELL NO!"

Sebastian raised a brow, before picking up the packet.

"Here, let me show you how" he said before taking one, undid the wrapping and shoved the tip in his nose. James stared at him for few seconds, before a bark of genuine, surprised laughter escaped his lips.

"Are you fucking serious right now?!"

Sebastian nodded as if it was the most normal thing in the whole universe. James shook his head at his impossibility.

"Yep Sebastian, you're totally weird. VERY, very much."
