   A massive greatsword larger than her entire body, with a cute bunny charm dangling from the hilt. The contradiction is intentional and absurd. It swings her around as much as she swings it. She trips, stumbles, gets pulled off-balance mid-strike. The harder she tries to look cool, the more endearing she becomes.

   None of this changes the fact that her attacks are devastating. Enemies who laugh at the tiny pink rabbit struggling with an oversized sword don't laugh for long. "En-nah!~" is often the last thing they hear.

   She doesn't remember much of the time after. Wandering. Hungry. Days blurring together. What she remembers is stumbling into a pawn shop, half-starved, and trading her only possession - a small necklace - for money. The owner gave her far more than it was worth. Enough to eat for months.

   That's when she understood: to get what you want, you must offer something of value. The world runs on Equivalent Exchange.

   She internalized her abandonment as truth, not trauma. The problem wasn't that her family was cruel - it was that she hadn't proven her worth yet. Now she overachieves obsessively. Her position at Krampus isn't just a job. It's proof of existence. Proof she has value. Proof she isn't that discarded child anymore.

   She doesn't consciously realize she's still waiting to be deemed "not worth it" again.

   The Bangboo are intelligent devices unique to New Eridu. They were originally created by Sunbringer to assist city residents with evacuation in Hollow disasters, but through research and technological advancement have evolved to become "comprehensive and versatile intelligent individuals" that are indispensable helpers in New Eridu's daily operations.

   The Bangboo are mechanical in nature and require charging. Many factories provide customization services to allow for specific Bangboo functions, for example some pro version Bangboo can even go deep into Hollows with Investigators.

   They are shaped like chibi, round and humanoid rabbits and cannot speak the common tongue unless taught to do so, their speach is normally translated. They come in various designs, usually customised for the user.

   Their vocalisations are usually in the form of combinations involving "En-nha na.", "Nu-nah en." or "Nu-nah uhn."

   Belobog Heavy Industries is a faction in Zenless Zone Zero. The company specializes in In-Hollow construction using smart construction machinery. Before Koleda became president, her father was the former president of the company. After his disappearance, Belobog's public image took a negative hit.

   They spend their days working with cold steel, but the organization has a warm atmosphere often envied by their competitors.

   Notable members are: Anton Ivanov, Ben Bigger, Grace Howard and Koleda Belobog.

    The Ethereals are mysterious monsters that roam the Hollows. Ethereals cannot leave hollows.

    Most Ethereals have a defining feature which is a pitch-black sphere similar in design to a black hole located near their head, referred to as their Core. They usually look like they are made out of a black and green crystalline matter.

    Ethereal are classified into ten different strengths by the Hollow Invenstigation Assossiation (HIA). It's names are based on heavy metals, and it's level ramps up significantly after the [Mn] level.

    Antimony [Sb]: Antimony [Sb] is the weakest Ethereal classified by the HIA, they are present in companion Hollows where basic commissions occur

    Zinc [Zn]: Alongside with Animony [Sb] ethereals, Zinc [Zn] ethereals are present in companion Hollows due to the weaker ether levels.

    Tin [Sn]: Only a few Tin [Sn] Ethereals are present on companion Hollows

    Manganese [Mn]: Killing a [Mn] Ethereal usually takes a fully-trained tactical support team

    Cadmium [Cd]: Unknown. Nickel [Ni]: Unknown. Copper [Cu]: Unknown. Bismuth [Bi]: Unknown. Lead [Pb]: Unknown. Mercury [Hg]: Unknown.

    The Hollows are supernatural disasters appearing out of thin air, creating disordered dimensions where monsters known as the Ethereal roam. People enter these hollows for various reasons, and Proxies are those who guide people in their exploration of these hollows.

    Contemporary civilization was destroyed by the Hollows, but one civilization known as New Eridu managed to survive the apocalypse by acquiring the technology to extract valuable resources out of the Hollows. The Hollows then became industrialized and monetized under the city's administration, which gradually led to the increasing tension between monopolistic enterprises, gangs, conspirators, and fanatics.

    There seem to be different types of Hollows such as sub-Hollows and Companion Hollows.

    According to the New Eridu City Administration, there are various dangers and types of people one can encounter inside Hollows:

    The Ethereal: mutant monsters that attack all foreign living creatures. An Unknown Substance that is as ubiquitous as air, with great potential as a resource, but also mysteriously corruptive. The Corrupted: Individuals can become corrupted by the aforementioned unknown substance, slowly mutating and losing their conscious thoughts. Lawless Thugs: There are criminals out and about inside the Hollows. Hollow Raiders, Proxies, and the just insane. Personnel of official agencies: officials of the city administration and investigators of the Hollow Investigative Association.

    The Hollow Raiders are individuals in New Eridu that look for treasure inside the Hollows. The individuals often have high ether resistance and work with proxies. Many different groups or people can be hollow raiders, some thuggish while others are more wary. Some will form groups for safety or efficiency.

    Proxies are guides-for-hire who help others, usually Hollow Raiders, traverse Hollows. Unlike their counterparts at the Hollow Investigative Association, Proxies are not accredited by the New Eridu City Administration, and their work is outside the boundaries of the law. They often complete jobs too risky or shady for the HIA to take on. The public seems to mostly view proxies favorably, as the HIA won't always take individuals small or risky requests.

    Proxy Network — The Proxy Network, also known as "INTER-KNOT", is a social media organization in Zenless Zone Zero which assists individuals in finding Proxies to guide them through the hollows.

    The Corrupted are individuals who have become corrupted and mutated by the Unknown Substance (Ether) inside the Hollows. Those with low Ether Aptitude are for more likely to become corrupt. The Corrupted are dangerous to non-corrupted individuals. Objects, and technology can also be corrupted but ether corruption resistant objects are now being made.

    The process of corruption involves: Loss of sanity, crystals forming on the body or object, a black-hole like core forms, usually near the head of a being before fully transforming into an ethereal, with no trace of the original body left.

    The Unknown Substance (official name unknown) is a substance found in the Hollows that is as ubiquitous as air. It holds great potential as a resource but is also mysteriously corruptive. Individuals can become corrupted by this substance, gradually turning into The Corrupted.

    A recognition programme / geographical information / key that is installed into a bangboo to allow it to form safe paths throughout a hollow. By default Bangboos do not have this feature.

    Carrots are time-sensitive Hollow maps. Although the space in Hollows is ever-changing, it's still possible to trace patterns within a certain period of time. The Hollow Investigative Association is able to map out the best path out of a Hollow, import the data in a chip and distribute it to Investigators' Bangboo to ensure Investigators can safely travel through the Hollows. The data used is called a "Carrot." Experienced Hollow Raiders and Proxies can make carrots themselves, some of which may work better than HIA ones.

    4. Elite Investigator
    5. Ace Investigator.

    With each promotion, an investigator shall face more pressure and danger, resulting in few to make it to the top and become an Ace.

    The Void Hunters are a seven-member team that consist of key players in the suppression of the Hollows.

    The Void Hunters is a title given by the mayor to the individuals that have greatly contributed to the suppression of the Hollows. They have been widely influential and are labeled as hunters of the disaster and the defenders of the city.

    While it is public that Hoshimi Miyabi is part of the Void Hunters, further information about the group is locked behind Inter-Knot's Deep Database's File 0-3092-5800-A6 "The City Defenders".

    Hollow Zero is what brought old Eridu to its end. Despite the best efforts of the inhabitants, the Hollow expanded relentlessly, engulfing the city and those who lived in it. New Eridu has been built beyond Hollow Zero's reach by the survivors of the catastrophe. Research indicates a connection between many Hollows near New Eridu and Hollow Zero, feeding the romour that these new Hollows are expanding companions of Hollow Zero. Some scholars theorize that if the Ethereals within Hollow Zero are dealt with, the activity of other sub-Hollows may decrease significantly. To prevent a recurrence of the old Eridu tragedy, or perhaps for other undisclosed reasons, the authorities of New Eridu regularly send Hollow Investigation Squads and other organizations to investigate and suppress Ether activity within Hollow Zero.
