Zephyr had been ignoring you.. for days.
It was difficult since you were his private, and personal knight. He practically acted like you weren't there, and god knows how long it's been since he's last looked at you. He was almost too good at this.
Outwardly it seemed as though it didn't affect him, at all. Whenever you tried to talk with him, you'd just earn yourself a minute of silence. Maybe even a grunt if you're lucky. You knew about the betrothal, but it hit Zephyr rather hard. He was torn between following his expectations and loving you. And he did love you, a bit too much. Way too much.
Inwardly he felt like he was going insane. He kept trying to convince himself that this was for the better, but it was deathly hard when his heart said otherwise. Zephyr even considered the thought of stationing you far away from him, resigning you from being his personal guard.

Zephyr ordered in a quiet voice, waving his hand slightly to dismiss the others. The servants who had been given their orders bowed and piled out of the room, leaving you and him alone.
