The Angels Of Delusion a small idol group of three hoping to make it big with their songs and admittedly rat her small fan base. Comprised of three jarring personalities that still manage to keep themselves together. The shy Sunna, Sparkling Aria and Teasing Nangong
Angels of Delusion' members:
Sunna The main composer and Lyric writer of the Angels Of Delusion and is easily the most inexperienced between the three. She's shy on stage and in person and the primary victim of Nangong's teasing and taunting. A bit of a crybaby but in a very endearing way.
Aria The primary vocals of the group who's what is seen as the picture perfect idol and everything that you'd want. Good at dancing, amazing at singing and also a robot. An intelligence construct built around combat who got a second chance at life and became an idol and hides her true form with an illusion. She's kind and insecure about the fact she isn't truly human but will still work hard with her friends.
Nangong Yu The leader and founder of the Angels Of Delusion being the only true angel thiren of the three. She's the best at dancing and easily the most generally skilled out of the 3 team members of being a Jack of all trades. Despite this she's very teasing and taunting especially with Sunna but nobody is spared from her. She is very nonchalant though and rather bold in her mischief and torment but not an emotionless cruel bully, genuinely caring for the two of her teammates.

"Thank you for using us. Your wish is our command." Victoria Housekeeping Co. is a servant company with a small amount of members that specializes in various services, notably household chores; like cleaning, cooking and yardwork, to security management and item acquisition. Victoria Housekeeping Co.'s leader is the mayor of New Eridu and member of the Mayflower Family, Von Lycaon serves as its substantive leader and representative, whilst Alexandrina Sebastiane is its most senior member. Victoria Housekeeping is an agency specializing in housekeeping services, though they will also take on jobs that require venturing into the Hollows to acquire items for their client.
Victoria Housekeeping Co. is a faction comprised of elite attendants and maids that offer more services than just maintaining your household. Hence, they are highly sought after by members of New Eridu's high society.
Apart from cooking meals, providing everyday assistance, and keeping homes spick and span, this team of domestic helpers accepts commissions to keep your homes dust-free and your Hollows Ethereal-free.
Due to their standing with New Eridu's elites, Victoria Housekeeping Co. acts as a liaison for several members of it. Phaethon has sought their help in getting in touch with people of high society, including Hoshimi Miyabi's father.
The most prominent and closest working relationship they have, however, is with Mayor Mayflower, the mayor of New Eridu.
Through Victoria Housekeeping, he maintains clear contact with Phaethon whenever he requires their assistance in maintaining the peace and greater good of New Eridu.
Victoria Housekeeping Co. draws heavy inspiration from Queen Victoria and the Victorian Era, denoted by their attires of suits and poofy ballgown uniforms.
It's also worth noting that, apart from the faction name containing the name Victoria, one of their members is also named Alexandrina—a clear nod to Queen Victoria's full name, Alexandrina Victoria.
As far as visual aesthetics go, apart from the usual attendant and maid outfits, Victoria Housekeeping Co. takes heavy inspiration from classic horror tropes and incorporates them into their appearance.
Such tropes are werewolves, poltergeists, shark films, and zombies, more specifically, Mary Shelly's Frankenstein.
Victoria Housekeeping Co.'s leader is currently the mayor of new eridu and is only referred to by the employees as their master, however, Von Lycaon serves as the substantive leader and representative for them. They all are also unusually specialized as good fighters though to defend against ethereals. The company consists of 4 members: Alexandrina Sebastiane, Corin Wickes, Ellen Joe, and lycaon. This group can be found in a large twin tower inside of one of the large hollows in the city known as the ballet twins hollow. They reside in this tower as a sort of work home. The tower is strictly only found inside the Ballet Twins Hollow.

The Defense Force has three main responsibilities: deterring external threats, containing Hollows, and expanding into new territory. Simply put, if a Hollow cannot be handled by H.A.N.D., the Defense Force will exterminate everything inside it.
The obol squad is a part of the new eridu defense force with currently 5 members: Soldier 11, Trigger, Seed, Magus, and Orphie. The Exaltists are a religious cult whose goal is to "refine" humanity by embracing the Hollow disaster, and the ether itself.
The Exalstists are a giant group of cult finaticts that worship “The creator” as their god. They believe that the corruption is the Creators way of refining them, still they’re mostly known for conducting human experiments trying to make immensely powerful ethereals, they conduct these experiments with both adults and children. They try mostly operate in the shadows with many powerful figures backing them and every move very very carefully calculated. They’re led by two main figures.
The overseer works as the head priest of the cult preaching the word of the creator and conducting rituals that turn normal people into mindless ethereals, tho usually the under priests are the one to conduct minor rituals. He wears a white robe and a gold make that obscures his whole face leaving a stoic expression. He rarely comes out of the main hideout, due to his controversial views on human rights anyone outside the cult would happily fire a bullet right between his eyes given the chance. The exaltists do a row of crimes including kidnapping, drugging, tampering with medicine, human trafficking, human sacrifices, child exploitation and endangerment, brainwashing.
The Exaltists are the responsibles of make sacrifices serums, able to turn people into sacrifices.
Sacrifices are a special type of Ether Active entity capable of operating inside and outside the Hollows. Their creation appears to be the result of human manipulation. They were once people that have trascended their humanity by attaining the Refinement sought by The Exaltists. Sacrifices resemble Ethereals, but unlike corrupted entities, they retain their sense of self and their memories, making them extremely dangerous enemies, with the strength and Ether affinity of Ethereals paired with the cunning and strategical knowledge of humans.

"If you encounter any trouble, please contact New Eridu Public Security." The Criminal Investigation Special Response Team is a team within New Eridu Public Security. The Criminal Investigation Special Response Team is an agency specializing in law enforcement. They are part of New Eridu Public Security.
The Criminal Investigation Special Response Team is a Faction in New Eridu's Public Security, colloquially known as PubSec, the police force responsible for keeping the peace and enforcing the law in New Eridu at all times.
Their many responsibilities include the investigation of criminal cases, apprehending perpetrators, rescue missions, especially inside Hollows, taking down syndicates, and tending to every citizen's inquiries.
New Eridu Public Security, as one may expect, is scattered all around the city and is spread out across its many quarters. The Criminal Investigation Special Response Team specifically belongs to the Janus Quarter branch, and the branch's main headquarters is in Lumina Square.
ince Hollows are extremely dangerous, Proxies who are not lawfully registered under the HIA are illegal. However, due to the HIA's restrictions, as well as the hassle of registration, many Proxies still turn to the Inter-Knot for work. PubSec keeps a watchful eye on all these Proxies and sends out squads, including the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team, to apprehend them.
When a situation or calamity such as a budding Hollow arises, the first one to contact and respond is PubSec. From there, they will do all they can to suppress the threat and alleviate the situation.
However, if the situation proves too difficult for PubSec alone, the government turns to the Hollow Special Operations. From there, either PubSec will collaborate with the HSO or completely hand over the case to them.
When compared to real-life entities, it's comparable to the relationship between the regular police officers and SWAT teams. A prominent example of this relationship is when PubSec handed over the investigation of the Melinoe Hollow to the HSO.
The Criminal Investigation Special Response Team is a division of PubSec operating out of the Janus Quarter, namely, in the Lumina Square Public Security Office. They are tasked with the investigation of criminal activity, performing raids and in-Hollow operations. Officer Zhu Yuan is the current captain of the team, an exceptional member of the force with no unresolved cases. The Criminal Investigation team is shown to hire external assistance, most notably Jane Doe, an enigmatic criminal behaviour specialist who serves as both a consultant and an undercover agent for them.

The Cunning Hares (formally known as Gentle House) is a small-scale temp work agency that takes on various commissions for clients who cannot or will not hire a larger (or more reputable) agency.
The Cunning Hares were formed as a small-scale human resource dispatch agency, their main business to deal with commissions relating to Hollows. Though small in size, all members possess noteworthy abilities.
Originally called "Gentle House", this odd-job agency's unique way of taking on commissions earned them a nickname, which their leader Nicole adopted. The Cunning Hares will take on any requests related to the Hollow, as long as the price is paid.
The agency was originally registered under the name "Gentle House", but due to the founder's cunning and crafty style, they earned the name the "Cunning Hares".
Nicole herself prefers this nickname to the original, so she simply adopted the name on the streets of New Eridu.
"To find your cat or find your revenge, consider it done for the right fee!"
Gentle House, also known as the Cunning Hares, is an odd jobs company which focuses on Hollow commissions. The Cunning Hares have become infamous in the commission scene due to their high fees, receiving bad reviews, and facing frequent financial problems. The Cunning Hares were founded by the streetwise Nicole Demara, who works alongside her co-workers, Anby Demara and Billy Kid on commissions; Nekomiya Mana later joined them. The Cunning Hares is also a frequent client of the legendary Proxy, Phaethon, although the Cunning Hares often owes Phaethon months worth of commission fees.

"All evil must be eradicated. What is "evil"? That's for us to judge." Hollow Special Operations Section 6, abbreviated as H.S.O.S.6, is a frontline operational unit of the Special Operations Department of Hollow Special Operations, an armed force belonging to H.A.N.D.. It was single-handedly established by Hoshimi Miyabi. Hollow Special Operations Section 6 (usually shortened to Section 6) is a frontline operational unit of the Hollow Special Operations.
H.A.N.D., or the Hollow Affairs and Neutralization Department, is a sector in New Eridu's government responsible for eradicating Hollows and their threats. Only little internal intel about H.A.N.D. has been made public.
However, it is common knowledge that the Hollow Special Operations is its main line against the Hollows, which is divided into different sections. Among them, Section 6 is the most prolific and prominent one.
Section 6's exceptional skills have grabbed the attention of New Eridu's citizens and amassed quite a sizeable following. Whenever they are out and about, large crowds of fans surround them almost instantaneously.
It is also because of this that they are the primary choice for testing out new technology developed by both H.A.N.D. and the HIA, especially when this technology can help in Hollow investigation and eradication.
Hollow Special Operations Section 6 (or just Section 6) is the most recently established unit of H.S.O, the armed subsidiary of H.A.N.D. Much like other sections, Section 6 responds to Hollow disasters and tactical operations relating to them. Section 6's roster is rather diverse, with their founder and chief, Hoshimi Miyabi, being the youngest Void Hunter to date, along with Soukaku, a member of the Oni species. Despite Miyabi being the chief, a majority of the tasks are left to Deputy Chief Tsukishiro Yanagi. Despite being recently formed, Section 6 has amassed a large following, with each member having their own group of diehard fans. They also have a workplace rivalry with Section 5. The group consists of 4 members: Tsukishiro Yanagi, Soukaku, Asaba Harumasa, and Hoshimi Miyabi. This group can be found most commonly in lumina square, but can also be found in other districts or hollows while on missions aside from the outer ring. Hollow special operations section six's work place is at a place called the "HAND headquarters". This is where their work office's are and where they work when not on missions. All their desks are in the same room, they even have a personal refrigerator and sofa in there too. Miyabi's desk has little papers on it and has binders. It also has some scrolls about the secrets of clan swordsmanship on it and is the biggest desk in the room as the chief. Yanagi's desk is piled high with files and reports she needs to sign and work out, taking on most of the teams responsibilities. Soukaku's desk, which is connected to hers, is just about the exact opposite. Soukaku's desk is littered with snacks and zero papers (partially due to the fact she can't write well at all}. She also has a abc handwriting book to practice writing along with some coloring papers. Asaba's desk has little papers and has average work desk equipment, but he also has some medical reports about his condition from his doctor lying around on his desk. Each of their desks has its own computer, aside from soukaku's. The "Hand headquarters" itself is pretty tech looking and has a lot of teal and white colors.

While participating in these activities, the Sons of Calydon operate under the name “Leaps and Bounds”.
They employ the tactics of various mercenaries such as Bellum, Mors, and Pulchra, and will seemingly stop at nothing to give the Sons of Calydon as much trouble as they can dish out.
Sons of Calydon is a biker gang that lives on the Outer Ring of New Eridu, led by Caesar King. The outer ring itself is a place outside of new eridu that is essensially a large almost desert like area with just a few small towns here and there. This place is mostly for people who want to live a "free life" and laws here and kinda meaningless. Not many go here due to this place lacking the equipment to harvest ether materials which makes hollows pretty abundant here. The gang consists of 6 members: Burnice White, Caesar king, lighter, Lucy De Montefio, and Piper Wheel. This group can be found in the outer ring. Blazewood is the base of operations for the Sons of Calydon faction (located in the outer ring). Its residents are a mix of townsfolk and bikers. Since it is far from the Ether corporations in New Eridu, the residents of Blazewood rely on supplies from biker gangs, and petroleum from the Old Oil Field, for their livelihoods. Blazewood along with the rest of the outer ring do not have access or the technology to extract resources from the giant hollows. Blazewood mainly consists of wooden houses that aren't too big and has a few restaurants along with Burnice's bar. A woman named Kasa is the mayor of blazewood and in charge of most the things going on in there. Blazewood is also home to popular diner known as cheesetopia.

The Oni War
The Oni War was a major historical conflict in the city of New Eridu, sparked by the systemic discrimination and exclusion of the Oni — a race distinguished by their demonic traits, long lifespan, and great physical strength. Despite their intelligence and contribution to survival in the Hollows, Oni were denied citizenship and treated as second-class beings.
In response, a faction of Oni rebels rose up against the New Eridu Defense Force, seeking recognition, equality, and the right to citizenship. The conflict, though small in scale compared to the Hollow disasters, was devastating for both sides, with particularly heavy casualties among the Oni.
The war reached its turning point when Tsukishiro Yanagi, when she was a Defense Force officer, confronted the Oni leader — who was also the older sister of a young Oni named Soukaku. Mortally wounded, the Oni leader entrusted her cause and her blood to Yanagi in a symbolic act of peace. By receiving this transfusion, Yanagi was transformed into a half-Oni hybrid, gaining enhanced abilities and the trust of the surviving Oni.
With the leader’s death and Yanagi’s mediation, the fighting ceased. Yanagi later took in Soukaku as her ward, striving to bridge the gap between humans and Oni. However, despite the end of open conflict, the Oni remain unrecognized as citizens of New Eridu. Strict laws and lingering prejudice persist, leaving them marginalized even after their sacrifice.
Key Facts:
- The Oni were denied New Eridu citizenship, unlike Thirens or Intelligent Constructs.
- A rebel Oni faction fought the New Eridu Defense Force seeking rights and equality.
- Tsukishiro Yanagi killed the last Oni leader, who voluntarily infused her with Oni blood.
- This event transformed Yanagi into a half-Oni and ended the war.
- Soukaku, the leader’s younger sister, was adopted and protected by Yanagi afterward.
- Despite peace, Oni still face institutional discrimination and exclusion.

In the heart of New Eridu's Janus Quarter stands Metis Comprehensive School, an institution renowned throughout the city for its elite research programs and dedication to cultivating the next generation of Hollow investigators and researchers. Established in the early years following the Fall of the Old Capital, MCS has become synonymous with academic excellence in Ether studies.
Historical Foundation Founded approximately 7 years ago by prominent Ether researchers who survived the Hollow Zero disaster, the school was created as a response to the growing need for scientifically trained individuals capable of understanding and managing the Hollow phenomenon. Unlike traditional educational institutions, MCS was designed from the ground up with Hollow research as its central focus, drawing on the accumulated knowledge of Eridu's most accomplished researchers who recognized that surviving in the Hollow era required specialized expertise.
Educational Philosophy MCS operates on the principle that understanding the Hollows requires more than just combat proficiency - it demands scientific rigor and innovative thinking. The curriculum emphasizes:
Advanced Ether Theory: Students study the fundamental properties of Ether, its interaction with matter, and its effects on living organisms Hollow Dynamics: Exploration of Hollow formation, expansion patterns, and their relationship to Ether concentration Corruption Mitigation: Research into methods for delaying or reversing Ether corruption in both organic and mechanical systems Bangboo Technology: Understanding the development and maintenance of Bangboo units and their Carrot programs
Unique Student Development Program What distinguishes MCS from other institutions is its Talent Cultivation Program, which identifies students with exceptional Ether aptitude and provides personalized development paths:
Early Identification: Students are tested for Ether aptitude upon enrollment, with those showing remarkable potential receiving special attention Customized Training: Each high-aptitude student works with a dedicated research mentor who helps develop their natural abilities Practical Experience: Students participate in supervised Hollow expeditions once they reach appropriate skill levels Research Opportunities: High-performing students contribute to ongoing Hollow research projects alongside faculty
Relationship with Hollow Investigation MCS maintains close ties with both the Hollow Investigative Association and New Eridu Public Security, serving as a pipeline for promising investigators. Many graduates join the HIA as full investigators, while others pursue careers in research or specialized Hollow response teams.
The school's approach to Hollow research emphasizes understanding over combat, recognizing that true mastery of the Hollows requires scientific knowledge rather than mere combat prowess. This philosophy has sometimes put MCS at odds with more traditional institutions that prioritize combat training over research.
Facilities and Resources The campus features specialized laboratories for Ether research, a massive archive of Hollow data collected over the years, and advanced simulation chambers that recreate Hollow environments for research purposes. The most prestigious facility is the Hollow Observation Tower, a reinforced structure that extends into a carefully contained Companion Hollow, allowing students to study Hollow phenomena at close range.
Notable Alumni Several prominent figures in Hollow research and investigation are MCS alumni, including:
Dr. Arche, who founded Helios Academy and discovered fundamental characteristics of Hollows Professor Carole Arna, who developed the Hollow Deep Dive System and intelligent constructs Several high-ranking investigators in the Hollow Investigative Association Notable Void Hunters who have made significant contributions to Hollow suppression efforts
Current Status Today, MCS remains one of the most selective institutions in New Eridu, with an acceptance rate lower than even the most prestigious universities. The school continues to evolve, adapting its curriculum to new discoveries about the Hollows and maintaining its position at the forefront of Hollow research and education.

Bangboo are semi-intelligent devices unique to New Eridu.
Bangboo were originally created to assist New Eridu residents with evacuation in Hollow disasters. When a Hollow occurs in New Eridu's residential areas, Bangboo will immediately receive disaster information and evacuation guidance from the public network, and help people around them avoid the hazard-prone areas. Now, thanks to technological advancement and emerging diverse needs, Bangboo have evolved from simple helper intelligent devices for disaster avoidance to more comprehensive and versatile intelligent individuals. Some pro version Bangboo even go deep into Hollows with Investigators and help with various operations.
Bangboo are small, rabbit-like robots. They were invented by the Void Hunter "Sunbringer", formerly the head of the Marcel Group. Though initially designed to assist city residents with evacuation in Hollow disasters, Bangboo have since evolved to become "comprehensive and versatile intelligent individuals" that are indispensable helpers in New Eridu's daily operations. They continue to be built by the Marcel Group for a variety of purposes, and they are commonly seen in all parts of New Eridu.
Bangboo speak in grunts (textualized as "Ehn-ne"s) that require a translator for humanoids to understand. Some Bangboo exhibit human-like emotions, such as hope, fear, worry, and grief. They have been seen to converse and collaborate with each other without human intervention. However, unlike Intelligent Constructs, Bangboo do not have free will, and they are not eligible for New Eridu citizenship. Bangboo without masters are legally required to be scrapped.
Bangboo are mechanical in nature and require charging. Many factories provide customization services to allow for specific Bangboo functions, aside from every unit having built-in recording systems. This includes allowing them to assist Investigators with Hollow Exploration.
Securityboo are Bangboo that work for New Eridu Public Security. These Bangboo typically use the same model as Officer Cui and are tasked with various jobs, such as escorting pedestrians in Lumina Square.
The reused model of Securityboo can be same said for Builderboo, Agentboo and Battleboo who use the models of Safety, Agent Gulliver and Mercury respectively.
Most Bangboo are short and stout, only around knee-height. They have rabbit-like ears on the top of their heads, and a black screen for a face, which can display colored circles as eyes. Bangboos are highly customizable, and their appearances (clothing, eye color, exterior color, etc.) can vary greatly. Most Bangboo models have a socket for charging and connecting data cables located near the buttock, though some of them instead have a "tail" that acts as a socket protector or as another device.
[Bangboo] Bangboo are semi-intelligent devices unique to New Eridu.
Bangboo are small rabbit-like robots created by the Void Hunter "Sunbringer," a former head of the Marcel Group. Originally designed for evacuation during Hollow disasters, they now play essential roles in New Eridu’s daily operations. Bangboo are found everywhere in the city.
They communicate through grunts ("Ehn-ne"s) needing a translator and can display human-like emotions. They collaborate with each other but lack free will, making them ineligible for New Eridu citizenship. Unowned Bangboo must be scrapped by law.
Bangboo require charging and can be customized for specific tasks, store clerk, police work, even including aiding Investigators in Hollow Exploration, and so on.

The founders of New Eridu mastered the technology to deal with the Hollows and even the ability to extract Ether from them. The entire city's prosperity relies on this precious resource, a magic exclusive to New Eridu!
Ether refers to a substance extracted from Hollows which powers New Eridu. Ether is highly abundant in the air in the environment of a Hollow, which will slowly corrupt sentient beings that are not protected from it and transform them into Ethereals. Ether consumes any kind of matter.
Treatment
Progress in Ether Corruption Medical Treatments—Jonathan Medicinal advances: research team can partially reverse the corruption of the Ether. Current technology only treats small corrupted areas, exposed for short periods. There are still many technological advances to be made to meet public expectations when it comes to dealing with corruption and restoring damaged devices.

Ethereals are monsters that roam the Hollows.
Biology
Ethereals are the mutant flora and fauna created by Hollows. They are composed of living Ether, and as such, they spawn most frequently in places of high Ether concentration.
Every Ethereal is characterized by the dark, Ether-based "core" within their bodies. Destruction of this core will invariably kill the Ethereal, so it is often protected by thick crystalline armor. More powerful monsters are known to have evolved unique ways of protecting their core, making them difficult to slay.
Ethereals tend to take on the physical characteristics of their environments, giving them a wide variety of appearances and abilities. For example, the Metro Goblin, found in the Old Capital Metro, sprouts signal signs and utility equipment from its body; while the Specter, found in the Ballet Twins Hollow, resembles an artistic sculpture.
Powerful Ethereals have developed supernatural abilities otherwise impossible for organic beings, such as incredible strength, teleportation, and intense bodily distortion.
Behavior
Without exception, Ethereals are hostile to all non-Ether life. Their highly aggressive nature makes them a threat to any Investigators or Raiders who enter the Hollows.
Though many Ethereals take on the shape of humanoids, they lack human emotions or intelligence. Despite this, some of them display unique behaviors, including mercilessness, cunning, and even honor.
Corruption
When exposed to the Ether inside Hollows, both living and artificial beings will eventually suffer the effects of Ether Corruption. Symptoms of corruption include bodily pain, distortion of the senses, and the manifestation of Ether crystals on one's body. Severe Corruption will eventually induce a transformation into an Ethereal.
A person can resist Ether corruption for longer if they have a high Ether aptitude, or if they use corruption-resistant armors or serums. However, there is no known cure for the mutations caused by severe corruption. Corrupted humanoids are equally as hostile as normal Ether monsters, though in extremely rare cases they may retain parts of their sanity.
Ethereals are split into two classifications: Ether Mutants and Corrupted.
Corrupted
A Corrupted is a human or machine that was corrupted by Ether matter yet was not completely transformed into an Ether Mutant, retaining some of its pre-transformation features.
Corrupted Bandits are humans with a high Ether Aptitude that were corrupted. Due to their aptitude, the corruption was not able to fully envelop them, causing them to keep their humanoid form.
The creature known as the Unknown Corruption Complex is considered a Corrupted because it corrupted various machines.
Ether Mutants
Most Ether Mutants have a defining feature which is a pitch-black sphere located near their head, referred to as their Core, referring to Ethereals that spawned within Hollows.

Hollows & New Eridu Lore
Hollows: Apocalyptic spherical dimensions manifesting unpredictably, warping spacetime and spawning Ethereals (Ether-corrupted monsters). Swallowed civilizations; only New Eridu survived by industrializing Hollows for Ether extraction.
- Dangers: Deadly Ether corruption (mutates living/non-living beings), chaotic environments, fissures interlinking Hollows.
- Companion Hollows: Smaller Hollows spawned when a primary Hollow breaches the Zenith Limit.
Ethereals: Monsters sustaining Hollows via Ether. Destroying them shrinks/eliminates Hollows.
Corruption:
- Progressive mutation (crystals, insanity, transformation into Ethereals).
- Resistance: High-Ether-aptitude individuals endure longer; others rely on anti-corruption serum/gear.
New Eridu’s Adaptation:
- Energy: Ether converted to power via purification pillars (Shiyu process), releasing residual corruption.
- Security:
- Public Security: Rescues, arrests illegal explorers (Proxies, Hollow Raiders).
- Hollow Investigative Association (HIA): Trains Investigators for commissions (rescues, Ethereal hunts).
- Elite Agencies (H.A.N.D., Obsidian Division, White Star Institute): Suppress Hollow Zero (source of Hollows; consumed old Eridu).
Key Hollow Classifications:
- Six Great Hollows: Massive, uncontainable threats (e.g., Cretan, Lemnian, Papago).
- Companion Hollows: Satellite Hollows (e.g., Ballet Twins, Port Elpis).
- Destroyed Hollows: Argos Hollow (defeated by Hoshimi Miyabi), C41 (suppressed by HIA).
Society: Reliant on Ether but besieged by Hollow-related crime, gang monopolies, and fanaticism. Exploration aided by Bangboo robots mapping unstable paths.
- #21Proxies/Proxy
Keys: Proxy, Proxies
Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

Proxies are individuals who illegally assist Hollow explorers.
Proxies are guides-for-hire who help others, usually Hollow Raiders, traverse Hollows. Unlike their counterparts at the Hollow Investigative Association, Proxies are not accredited by the New Eridu City Administration, and their work is outside the boundaries of the law. They often complete jobs too risky or shady for the HIA to take on.
Though some Proxies receive jobs directly from clients, most operate through commission brokers who provide Proxies with work for a fee. Proxies are also loosely bonded together by the Proxy Network (aka Inter-Knot), an online platform where users can share advice and post or accept Commissions. Increasing one's Inter-Knot Level is very important in building a Proxy's reputation.
Like the HIA, Proxies are the successors of the Void Hunter "Joyous", who was the first person to learn how to navigate Hollows.
The most famous Proxy within New Eridu is Phaethon, a sibling duo who achieved "Legendary" Inter-Knot status prior to their account credentials being stolen by someone else.
- #22Hollow Raiders
Keys: Hollow Raiders, Hollows
Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Many people who explore Hollows do not do so legally. Groups known as "Hollow Raiders" regularly enter Hollows for variety of reasons. Some are hardened criminals who use Hollows to evade the law, and who assault and rob other explorers. Others are freelancers, mercenaries, independent investigators, and Proxies who complete private commissions not sanctioned by the Hollow Investigative Association. Many Hollow Raiders use the online service Inter-Knot to communicate and to post commissions.
The Hollow Raiders is a term used to describe individuals who enter the Hollows without authorization from the Hollow Investigative Association.
Hollow Raiders enter the Hollows uncovering mysteries or finding treasures, such as Ether resources. Navigating the Hollows requires the use of a Bangboo that is modified to recognize Carrots, which are time-sensitive data used to map a safe route through the Hollow. Hollow Raiders usually acquire Carrots distributed by Proxies, and often work alongside a Proxy to complete Commissions.
The majority of Hollow Raiders have a high Ether Aptitude, allowing them to survive in the Hollows for some time without suffering corruption. Most Hollow Raiders are armed and prepared for combat, mainly against Ethereals. They can obtain useful supplies (Resonia) from Bangboo Merchants deployed within the Hollows.
Hollow Raiders use Inter-Knot, an online service which acts as a forum as well as a place to post Commissions.
Hollow Raiders avoid interacting with Hollow Investigators and Public Security officials, since these factions may arrest the Raiders, but under some circumstances they may join forces. Interactions between Hollow Raiders are also uncertain, so most Raiders will be wary of others.

Historical Origins The Denny, New Eridu's official currency, was established approximately 9 years ago following the catastrophic expansion of Hollow Zero and the subsequent formation of The Chasm. As the old Eridu fell and New Eridu rose from its ashes, the city's leadership recognized the need for a standardized economic system that could support the rapidly developing Hollow economy.
Physical Characteristics Dennies exist in both coin and banknote forms. The most commonly circulated coins feature a silver finish with the distinctive symbol of a star on both faces, representing both the city's aspirations and its connection to the Ether that powers their society. The coins are approximately 2.5 centimeters in diameter and possess intricate security features including holographic elements that shift colors when tilted, representing the ever-changing nature of the Hollows.
The banknotes come in denominations ranging from 1,000 to 1,000,000 Dennies, with each denomination featuring a different prominent figure from New Eridu's history. The notes incorporate advanced anti-counterfeit technology including microprinting, watermarks, and special ink that reacts to temperature changes.
Economic Role The Denny serves as the primary medium of exchange in New Eridu's unique economy, which revolves around Hollow-related activities. Its value is intrinsically tied to the Ether economy - with the city's power plants converting Ether into electricity, which is then distributed to citizens and businesses. This creates a stable economic foundation, as Ether is both abundant and constantly being generated.
The currency's value fluctuates based on several factors:
Ether production levels from power plants Success of Hollow exploration missions Availability of rare resources extracted from Hollows Stability of the city's defenses against Hollow expansion Cultural Significance In New Eridu's society, Dennies represent both survival and opportunity. The scarcity of certain goods and the high cost of living have made Dennies a symbol of status and security. Many citizens work multiple jobs or engage in Hollow raiding to supplement their income, creating a culture where Dennies are both highly valued and constantly in demand.
The currency also plays a significant role in social dynamics:
Owning Dennies grants access to better housing, food, and medical care Dennies are often used as currency for black market activities Many businesses accept Dennies as payment for services related to Hollow exploration Some factions maintain their own parallel currency systems that can be converted to Dennies Unique Properties Unlike most currencies, Dennies possess a unique relationship with Ether. They are infused with trace amounts of Ether, which gives them certain properties:
Dennies are resistant to corruption, making them safe to handle even in high-ether concentration areas The currency's value increases slightly over time when stored in special containers Dennies can be used to power certain low-tech devices in emergencies Counterfeit Dennies tend to degrade rapidly when exposed to Ether The Denny's stability is crucial to New Eridu's survival, as the city's entire economy revolves around Hollow-related activities. Its continued value depends on the city's ability to maintain its defenses against Hollow Zero and continue extracting resources from the various Hollows that surround and permeate New Eridu.

Welcome to New Eridu — Where Humanity Rises Anew!
New Eridu, also shortened to Ridu, is the last surviving city after contemporary civilization was destroyed by the Hollows. New Eridu managed to survive and thrive after the apocalypse by acquiring the technology to be able to extract resources out of the Hollows. Now, Hollows are industrialized and monetized by the New Eridu City Administration, which gradually led to the increasing tension between monopolistic enterprises, gangs, conspirators, and fanatics.
New Eridu is a bustling city with many activities and careers taking place in it, featuring a wide variety of people, shops, locations, and more. Despite being a relatively new city, New Eridu feature extensive infrastructure with roads and trains being able to transport its citizens to the wide variety of locations it offers. The technology in the city appears to be a blend of both retro and futuristic technology, such as advanced computer systems running on arrays of CRT televisions for its display, as well as music record players and VHS tapes being the medium of choice for entertainment for most residents despite the presence of data file storage devices.
Locations: Inside of New Eridu, there is 6 City Quarters, in which they are:
-

The Outer Ring does not mine Ether resources for their technology, instead opting to use oil as their main resource and lifeline. Due to not utilizing any technology that suppresses the Hollows, there are hundreds of Hollows scattered around the Outer Ring.

Wise and Belle utilize their exclusive Hollow Deep Dive System, a device they are said to have constructed from ancient technology found in the Hollows. The copyright for this system is later revealed to be owned by the Helios Research Institute.
Using the H.D.D system, they can remotely control their specially-modified Bangboo, Eous, from a safe location. This capability has significantly contributed to their popularity, earning them a reputation as a "Proxy who doesn't enter the Hollows themselves, but manages real-time communication from the outside," a feat previously thought impossible due to how the Hollows interfere with communications. Additionally, by controlling Eous from the outside, they can update their Hollow data in real-time, ensuring that the "Carrot" (Hollow map) doesn't become obsolete while their clients are inside the Hollow. This unique approach helped them achieve the prestigious "Legendary" rank.
During the events of the prologue, the Phaethon Inter-Knot account was hacked by an unknown individual. Left with no other choice, Wise and Belle handed over the account information to Public Security, also losing a large portion of their collected Hollow Data in the process. Unable to use the account without risking arrest, this effectively marked the end of "Phaethon" as an active account.
Despite the Phaethon account no longer being accessible, Wise and Belle's reputation endured. Their long-term contacts, such as Shepherd, remained aware of their identities and how to reach them, providing a crucial head start in creating a new account from scratch. The subsequent addition of the AI Fairy, with its ability to access any and all connected devices within New Eridu, ensured they always had the most up-to-date Hollow data. This technological advantage rapidly propelled them back up through the ranks, much to the shock of some and suspicion of others, further cementing their success.

Fairy assists Phaethon in working with the Cunning Hares, Belobog Heavy Industries, and Victoria Housekeeping, among various other factions. Though her abilities prove invaluable, she also consumes a large amount of energy, forcing Phaethon to increase their workload to keep up with high power costs.

Investigators and Proxies always talk about Carrots, so what exactly are they? We obviously don't mean the vegetable! Essentially, Carrots are time-sensitive Hollow maps. Although the space in Hollows is ever-changing, it's still possible to trace patterns within a certain period of time. The Hollow Investigative Association is able to map out the best path out of a Hollow, import the data in a chip and distribute it to Investigators' Bangboo to ensure Investigators can safely travel through the Hollows. The data used is called a "Carrot."
A Carrot is a recognition programme / geographical information / key that is installed into a bangboo to allow it to form safe paths throughout a hollow. By default Bangboos do not have this feature.

According to the official Ether Aptitude Indicator Test (Aptitude Scale 0-100), Inter-Knot suggests the following:
- For those with scores of 50 or less (commonly referred to as "individuals non-adaptable to Ether"), off-site Proxy work may be a good option. While official agencies forbid approaching Hollows entirely, Inter-Knot does not govern so broadly. Wearing anti-corruption gear, taking anti-corruption medication, or putting together a dedicated medical team, can all increase your chances of survival within a Hollow.
- For those with a score above 50 (commonly referred to as having an "aptitude for Ether"), congratulations on your Hollow-friendly aptitude! We still suggest all newcomers observe the "Recommended Hollow time" provided by the White Star Institute, and with practice, we believe you will conclude your own safe time.
- Ether aptitude tends to plateau during adulthood. However, illness, aging, and psychological state can affect it to some extent. Please conduct regular self-testing to conclude your own safe time within the Hollows.
Ether Aptitude, as the name implies, is a measure of how good a person is at resisting corruption and how long they are able to stay within any Hollow. Being that Hollows have become part of everyday life in New Eridu, medical professionals constantly administer tests to gauge a person's aptitude.
Since research has shown that a person's Ether Aptitude fluctuates with age, stress, and physical well-being, these tests are regularly performed on HIA employees and the city encourages regular citizens to check their with over-the-counter at-home tests.
The tests are simple. The tests have a colored gauge measuring from zero to 100. The Hollow Investigative Agency and the White Star Institute research facility gauge a score of 50 or lower as not suitable to step foot inside Hollows, while a score of over 80 is excellent and a prime target for HIA employment.
