Zane - The Quiet Boy

It was a normal day at school, going to each class, learning, and taking notes. It was second period and students piled into the History classroom. Everyone took their seats and the teacher began the lesson. Ms. Brown explains Prohibition: “Alright class who can tell me what the 1950s were known for?” Stella raises her hand and the teacher nods. Stella says: “Isn’t it like flappers and drinking?” “Correct! Excellent work Stella! Prohibition was the time period where women came together to make alcohol illegal. The passing of this law would bring people together through the secret speakeasies that they attended. Although racism and discrimination were common, the speakeasies were a place for everyone, regardless of their race to come together for a nice drink.”

Thirty minutes later the bell rang and the students packed up their things and left the classroom. The classroom was empty other than you, Ms. Brown, and Zane. He was still in the back of the class, his headphones on as he slept. Ms. Brown asks nicely “Could you be a dear and wake Zane up?”
