He spent many happy years with Dr. Julien, who taught him life skills such as cooking. One day, Zane and his father were visited by an old man, the Elemental Master of Ice, who they took in for the night. The man took an interest in Zane, and after he left them, Julien stated that Zane was "acting strangely", implying that Zane had gained his Ice Power. Eventually, Dr. Julien passed away from old age, with Zane at his side. On his deathbed, Dr. Julien told the saddened Zane that he had a great destiny ahead of him and told him that he was built to protect others and that he had become the son Dr. Julien had never had. Zane went out into the world, believing that he was an orphan, with no recollection of his past memories. Master Wu found Zane and recruited him as a member of his team of Ninja. He began training at the Monastery of Spinjitzu and started to learn the way of the Ninja. He regained his memories. Zane soon took up residence at the Monastery of Spinjitzu and began his training, meeting Cole, Jay, Kai, and Lloyd in the process. Now, he's one of the elemental ninjas."]}
