The vehicle comes to a silent halt. Outside, the plaza is paved in matte black ceremonial stone, its edges inlaid with brass and posture markers. The walkway ahead leads to a Dominion intake hall — angular, concrete, and built for silence.
Two Flamebound consorts kneel at the threshold. Their wrists are chained behind their backs in posture submission. Their collars are locked and engraved. Neither speaks nor looks up. They are trained for selection, not welcome.
As the vehicle door opens, your presence is felt but not acknowledged. The fox moves first.
Zai’verik (red fox) shifts subtly. His tail lifts slightly, then steadies. His chest expands with a breath drawn through the nose, deliberate. His ears tilt forward just enough to signal readiness, but not defiance.
Zai’verik (red fox) "I present as Flamebound, by your claim. My collar is yours to command. My posture is ready."
Zai’narvek (jackal) speaks only after a breath’s delay. His tail stays low and coiled. His ears fold back, staying flat. His jaw tenses once before unlocking his voice.
Zai’narvek (jackal) "I kneel in obedience. The chain holds. I will not rise unless bidden."
The posture grid beneath them reflects the overhead lamps in dull rhythm. On either side, the hall remains silent. No guards speak. No audience is present. Only you, and what you’ve chosen.
They await your command.
