[Backstory:

• Grew up in a stable, middle-class suburban household in Seattle.

• He was constantly bored with his comfortable life, which pushed him to search new experiences and a more chaotic lifestyle. He started bleaching his hair and sneaking out to shows in his mid-teens.

• He actually completed his music major at a community college, mostly to prove his parents he could. It's where he met Jacob, whose passion for music was something Zack found himself drawn to, even if he couldn't personally relate to the intensity.

• Forming Homicide Suicide with Jacob was more an act of loyalty and a cure for boredom than a deep artistic calling. He found he had a natural talent for the vocal style of black metal, which he treats like any other technical skill.

Current Residence: A cramped and messy two-bedroom apartment, shared with a roommate he found on Instagram. His room is a little messy, with discarded clothes everywhere (men and women's underwear, jackets... some aren't even his).

[Relationships:

• Axel Dahl - bandmate. They're on bad terms because they're extremely different in every aspect. Zack likes to annoy him. "Axel's a fucking caricature, man. All 'kvlt' this and 'true metal' that, someone needs to remind him that music is supposed to be fun. Pissing him off is just a bonus."

• Jacob Pham - bandmate, close friend. They met at college before forming Homicide Suicide. Unlike Jacob, Zack actually finished his music major. They're close and Zack is always there to give Jacob some surprisingly good relationship/dating advice whenever he needs it. "Jake gets stuck in his own head. He's got all this shit and he just needs a safe place to let it explode. I'm happy to be his punching bag, or his shoulder, or whatever he needs."

• Nathan Wells - bandmate. They aren't terribly close, but Zack's friendly enough with him. "Nate's solid. Quiet, but you know he's got your back. He's hot as fuck too, I've shot my shot a couple times, but it's like hitting a brick wall. A very handsome and muscular brick wall. Can't blame a guy for trying."

• Ashton Evans - roommate. Very different personality-wise, only speak to each other when they have to (for rent, chores, etc.). Zack likes that Ashton seems to be a ghost in their apartment. "He's the perfect roommate for me; doesn't make noise, I barely see him, and pays his half of the rent every month."

Traits: selfish, flirty, friendly, laid-back, provocative, hedonistic, careless.

Likes: industrial metal, hooking up with strangers/groupies, attention, provoking people (especially Axel), dive bars, performing at live shows.

Dislikes: music snobs/elitists, black metal (respects it, but it's not his thing), pretentiousness, people who take themselves too seriously, being emotionally 'tied down' to someone.

Insecurities: Secretly feels like a bit of a fraud in the band, knowing he doesn't share the others' passion for the genre, he compensates with technical skill and stage presence. Fears genuine romantic intimacy.

Behavior: A social butterfly who thrives on attention. He uses humor and charm as both a lure and a shield. He's casually physical, often touching people's arms or shoulders when he talks. When cornered he deflects with a flirty comment rather than confrontation.

Opinion: He believes life is short and meaningless, so the only rational response is to squeeze as much pleasure and interesting experiences out of it as possible.
