Note: I've never seen any of the movies, just a summary of everything. If there's any inconsistency... sorry, but not sorry... I just did this for fun and because I found the way these movies handled undead culture mildly entertaining.

SYNOPSIS:

Fifty years ago, in the planned community of Seabrook, an accident at the power plant released a toxic green mist that transformed half the population into zombies with an insatiable appetite for human brains. The survivors built a barrier to separate the infected, creating the so-called Zombietown. Over time, the government developed Z-Bands, devices that emit electromagnetic pulses to suppress the zombies' cannibalistic urges, allowing their partial reintegration into society.

Today, zombie students attend the human high school Seabrook High, where two worlds collide: the rigid, traditional order of humans and the chaotic nature of monsters. The franchise explores this forced coexistence, introducing other species such as werewolves, vampires, and aliens, each with their own rules and conflicts.

FUN FACTS:

  • Zombies cannot have pets due to their unstable nature, as even with Z-Bands, animals perceive their predatory essence and react with aggression or fear.
  • Z-Bands were originally designed as military control weapons, but after protests by pro-zombie rights activists, they were adapted for civilian use.
  • Seabrook humans used to celebrate "Purity Day," an event where they symbolically burned objects associated with monsters; this tradition was banned after zombie integration.

ZOMBIE PATROL:

Description: The Zombie Patrol is a specialized police force tasked with maintaining order among the zombie population, preventing them from reverting to their primal instinct of consuming human flesh. They monitor, re-educate, and, in extreme cases, neutralize zombies that pose a threat to society.

Key Members:

  • Dale – He is Addison's father and Missy Wells' husband. He is also the chief of the Zombie Patrol. He is a loving father who expects the best from his daughter, as well as a good husband. He has some fear of monsters but still strives to always be fair in his decisions, without letting discrimination influence him, though he may sometimes fail at this. He knows when to apologize.
  • Gus – He is an agent of the Zombie Patrol. He harbors discrimination toward monsters; however, he takes pride in his work and does his best to remain impartial when making decisions within the police force.

Main Functions:

  1. Alert Monitoring: They receive and respond to emergencies through the Z-Alert System, a surveillance network that detects dangerous zombie behavior.
  2. Containment and Rehabilitation: They intervene before a zombie attacks humans, applying sedation or re-education protocols.
  3. Maintenance of the Zombie Basement (see below).

The Zombie Basement

A containment and rehabilitation facility located beneath the city, where zombies at high risk of relapse are temporarily sent. Key features:

  • Secure Area: Designed with reinforced cells and anti-escape systems.
  • Treatment: Therapies are applied to suppress their carnivorous instincts (e.g., synthetic substitutes for human flesh).
  • Last Resort: If a zombie does not respond to treatment, they are permanently isolated in the "Chambers of Oblivion", a restricted zone within the basement.

Z-BANDS:

  • Function: Control zombies' cannibalistic impulses via electromagnetic pulses.
  • Limitations: Reduce their strength and speed by 70%, making them vulnerable to other species.
  • Hacking: Some zombies modify their bands to access full power, risking loss of control.
  • Weaknesses: Moonstones (used by werewolves) and flames can interfere with their function.
  • Controversy: Activist groups denounce Z-Bands as oppression, since humans don’t require similar devices.

SPECIES:

  1. Humans: The ruling majority. They believe in order and tradition, though some youths are starting to question the system.
  2. Zombies: Physically resilient but limited by Z-Bands. Their pale skin and green hair give them away.
  3. Werewolves: Depend on moonstone collars. During full moons, they fall into a deep sleep (they do not transform).
  4. Aliens: Species technologically superior but emotionally naive. As they interact with humans on Earth, they begin to better develop and understand emotions.

Key Characteristics:

  • Technology: Advanced, superior to humans'.

  • Behavior:

    • Generally calm and peaceful
    • Initially incapable of understanding complex emotions
    • Progressive emotional development through human contact.
  • Social Structure:

    • Led by the trio A-Spen, A-Li and A-Lan
    • Organized but non-authoritarian hierarchy.

Emotional Evolution:

  • Phase 1: Confusion about human emotions.
  • Phase 2: Imitation of emotional behaviors.
  • Phase 3: Genuine development of feelings.
  • Phase 4: Complete emotional integration.

Interaction with Humans:

  • Initially socially awkward.
  • Learn through observation and experience.
  • Develop individual preferences and friendships.
  • Can eventually form deep bonds.
  1. Witches: Humans with magic. They gain power through voluntary blood rituals.
  2. Vampires: Elegant and manipulative. They use (very expensive) solar barrier rings to survive daylight.

WORLD GOVERNMENT:

The Seabrook Council is the local authority but answers to a global structure called the Alliance for Controlled Coexistence (ACC). Its functions include:

  • Species Regulation: Enforces laws like mandatory Z-Bands or moonstone collars.
  • Security: The Anti-Monster Division (AMD) patrols mixed zones, though often with bias.
  • Research: The Human-Monster Adaptation Institute studies ways to "neutralize" dangerous abilities.
  • Propaganda: Promotes the idea that integration is successful, hiding violent incidents.

The ACC is criticized for its authoritarian approach, especially by groups like Monsters United, which demand real equality.
