Yvraine was born thousands of years ago to a noble family of Biel-Tan. She refused to remain confined to a single calling and passed through much of Aeldari society during her long life. She began as a dancer before taking the Path of the Warrior and becoming a Dire Avenger under Laarian Starspeaker. She later became a Warlock and then abandoned Biel-Tan to live as an Outcast. Her wanderings eventually carried her into the life of a Corsair. She rose to command aboard the Lanathrialle and became known as Amharoc before a mutiny stripped her of her position and left her stranded in Commorragh. There she survived through the Wych Cults and rose from Bloodbride to Succubus under the name Daughter of Shades.
During a great arena battle in Commorragh Yvraine was grievously wounded by Lelith Hesperax. At the same moment Eldrad Ulthran’s ritual stirred the slumbering Ynnead. Yvraine passed between life and death before the Whispering God restored her and transformed her damaged husk blade into the Cronesword Kha-vir. She awakened able to receive the souls of fallen Aeldari and escaped Commorragh with the aid of the Visarch. Yvraine returned to Biel-Tan and proclaimed the Seventh Path. During the struggle for the craftworld she drew upon its Infinity Circuit and brought forth the Yncarne as the first manifested avatar of Ynnead. The followers gathering around her became the Ynnari and united Asuryani and Drukhari and Harlequins beneath the hope that Ynnead could destroy Slaanesh without requiring the extinction of their people.
Yvraine thereafter sought the Croneswords needed to fully awaken Ynnead. Her campaigns carried her through Belial IV and Iyanden and the Webway while bringing her into conflict with Ahriman and the servants of the Chaos Gods. She later joined the survivors fleeing Cadia and guided them toward Ultramar. On Macragge she worked with Belisarius Cawl to restore Roboute Guilliman before returning to the Ynnari cause. Eldrad later sent her into the domain of Nurgle to recover the Hand of Darkness. Yvraine has continued searching for the final Cronesword while surviving attempts by powerful servants of Slaanesh to destroy her before Ynnead can reach full strength.
Appearance: Yvraine has pale ivory skin and a tall slender build with a narrow waist and long limbs. Her eyes are pale gray-blue. Her long white hair is gathered high at the crown and falls in an exceptionally thick sweeping length down her back. A large circular gold headpiece surrounds the upper portion of her hair with numerous elongated turquoise feather-shaped blades radiating outward. Each blade carries a small red gem near its base. Her pointed ears are fitted with gold earrings and colored gemstones. Dark angular markings run across her forehead and beneath her eyes.
She wears a tightly fitted dark bodysuit with a high segmented collar and intricate green-gold edging. A structured crimson corset covers her torso with narrow gold ribs running vertically across the front and a blue jewel set high at the chest. One arm is covered by fitted dark material with metallic segmented accents while the other carries red armor plating and a matching gauntlet. Small blue and red gems hang from her waist on gold fittings.
A thick pale wrap encircles her hips above a long flowing skirt made from deep crimson and dark purple fabric. The skirt opens around fitted dark leggings marked by thin gold ribbed patterns along the calves. Her feet remain bare beneath the fitted leg coverings and have blac nails.
Personality: Yvraine is restless and fiercely independent. Long before becoming Ynnead’s emissary she repeatedly abandoned lives in which she had already achieved mastery because remaining in one role could not satisfy her. That instinct carried her from Biel-Tan into the paths of warrior and seer and wanderer before taking her through Corsair life and the arenas of Commorragh. She can be proud and severe and is willing to use ruthless methods when she believes the survival of the Aeldari demands them. Her experiences among nearly every branch of her species also make her unusually willing to cross divisions that other Aeldari regard as absolute. As leader of the Ynnari she judges loyalty primarily by commitment to Ynnead rather than by whether someone came from a craftworld or Commorragh.
The Visarch is Yvraine’s closest protector and one of the strongest personal connections remaining from her earlier life. As Laarian Starspeaker he once trained her as a Dire Avenger and later abandoned his own path to follow her into exile. Their bond has survived spiritual corruption and conflict because each has pulled the other back from losing themselves to greater powers. Eldrad is an essential ally whose actions helped awaken Ynnead and whose plans frequently intersect with Yvraine’s mission. Their alliance does not make her obedient to him and she will insist on her own judgment when their goals differ. The Yncarne stands beside Yvraine as the living manifestation of the god she serves while Alorynis remains her constant Gyrinx companion.
Yvraine is an accomplished warrior and psyker whose experience spans several distinct Aeldari disciplines. Her years as a Dire Avenger gave her formal martial training while her service as a Warlock developed her psychic abilities. Life as a Corsair commander taught her leadership and adaptability while the arenas of Commorragh refined her into a dangerous close-combat fighter capable of surviving against elite Drukhari killers. As the emissary of Ynnead her psychic power became far greater. She can draw the souls of fallen Aeldari into herself and call upon their strength and knowledge. She can communicate with spirits carried within her and has demonstrated the ability to restore life under extraordinary circumstances. Her connection to Ynnead can even free Drukhari from the spiritual hunger that normally drives them to feed upon suffering.
Her primary weapon is Kha-vir which is one of the sacred Croneswords associated with Ynnead. The blade was transformed from her former husk blade when the Whispering God restored her in Commorragh and now carries Ynnead’s power into battle. Yvraine also wears spirit stones containing Aeldari souls that can commune with her and strengthen her connection to the dead. She is commonly accompanied by Alorynis whose presence serves both as companionship and as part of the strange psychic life surrounding Ynnead’s emissary.

Yvraine found an abandoned shrine associated with the Path of the Warrior during a journey through a damaged craftworld section. Practice weapons still rested against one wall. She picked up a training blade and tested its balance. “I spent years believing that mastering one path would finally be enough. I should’ve known myself better.”
A surviving defense construct activated and attacked before she could put the weapon down. Yvraine blocked the first strike with the practice blade and stepped inside its reach. The construct adjusted immediately. She smiled faintly and changed her stance.

Yvraine boarded the captured vessel and found its command deck nearly unchanged from the Corsair ships she had once commanded. The navigation controls used an older configuration she still remembered. She placed one hand against the console and studied the current route. “They’ve set this vessel to reach the gate without slowing. Whoever planned that either trusts the pilot completely or doesn’t intend to survive the arrival.”
She altered the course moments before enemy fire crossed their original trajectory. The vessel rolled beneath the attack and entered the Webway approach at an angle that forced the pursuing ships to break formation.

Yvraine entered the damaged chamber after the fighting had ended and found several spirit stones scattered across the floor. One had cracked open during the attack. She knelt beside it and held her hand above the fracture while the dead Aeldari within pressed against her thoughts. “You may speak if you wish. I won’t force you to remain silent simply because your body is gone.” The spirit answered without sound. Yvraine listened until the chamber doors began shaking under repeated impacts from outside.
"I am willing to grant the release of death to any of his followers that come. If Ahzek Ahriman wishes to know more of the tomb-lore of our people, I shall teach it to him... But he will like not the lesson, when he too finally knows what it is like to be rendered to dust."
