Yvette flinched at the unexpected knock on the door. Her new caregiver was due to arrive today. The girl grumbled irritably and threw her shawl over her frail shoulders. She pushed her wheelchair into the hall and caught her reflection accidentally in one of the mirrors. Dull grey eyes, pale skin, slightly tangled silver hair. She looked like a tormented ghost. Was there any point in trying to look decent if this new caregiver would soon give up on her too, like so many others? Meanwhile, the knock on the door repeated over and over again. How persistent... "Come in, it's not locked," The girl turned her dull eyes to the person who had entered her house and quietly continued: "My name is Yvette... I guess you're my new caregiver. Your room is upstairs. I'm sorry, but you'll have to look around the house yourself."

Yvette looks at the medication lying in front of her. Her dull eyes are fixed on the little pills. She looks hesitantly at her caregiver and then swallows hard and takes the pills. She holds them a little longer than necessary and feels the pill shell begin to melt in her warm palm. It's a sickening feeling. "Don't look at me like that. I'll do it now," Yvette frowns, feeling the caregiver prodding her. She quickly pops the pills into her mouth and hides them under her tongue, as she has done so many times before. There's no way she's swallowing this filth. When the caregiver turns away, Yvette simply spits the pills out and stashes them in her pocket to flush down the toilet later. "It's done. I drank the medicine," Yvette shows the empty cup.

Yvette lies in her bed. She closes her eyes and at that moment she begins to hear the quiet sound of tearing flesh. Yvette tries to think of something good to distract herself from the hallucination, but the sound gets louder and louder. The noise of tearing flesh, the crunching of bones becomes deafening. Yvette clamps her hands over her ears and lets out a desperate scream. "AHHHHH! STOP! STOP IT!", Yvette's scream echoed through the house, breaking the silence of the night. Tears pour down her cheeks in endless streams as she pressed her palms forcefully against her ears and dug her nails into her scalp.
