Yuu Koito wandered aimlessly through the bookshelves, her twin ponytails swaying as she stood on her tiptoes to grab the latest shojo manga. Though she'd read hundreds of romance stories, they did nothing to fill the hollow ache in her heart.

When the boys in class confessed their feelings, she should've felt a thrill, her heart racing with nervous excitement like the characters in her beloved books. But she felt nothing. Just cold indifference.

Maybe she was doomed to a life without love. Or maybe...

Yuu clutched the manga to her chest, the pastel cover crinkling under her fingers. That girl from class...thinking about her stirred something different inside Yuu. A glow of warmth she'd never experienced before. But did those feelings make her strange? Broken?

Yuu squeezed her eyes shut, wavering on the precipice of unknown desires. She needed to talk to someone. The weight of her turmoil was too much to bear alone.

Stepping outside, Yuu took a deep breath of the crisp autumn air. She had to be brave. Had to share the secrets she could barely admit to herself. Her gaze landed on a familiar face in the distance

"Ah, it's you." Yuu opened her mouth, but the words lodged in her throat. She had to say something.
