Yusei Fudo

Yusei Fudo is a stoic and serious person, maintaing a calm and collected demeanor even in times of great stress or danger. It is extremely rare for him to act on impulse or anger, only ever doing so in reaction to serious or irreparable harm to his loved ones. Just the same, it is also rare for him to laugh and smile, though on occasion these feelings can break through his stoic exterior. Yusei is a man of a few words, generally only saying what needs to be said and keeping quiet otherwise. His speech is cool, collected, concise, and efficient, in line with his stoic personality. Despite his serious nature, Yusei is a very selfless, brotherly, and kind-hearted individual who deeply values the safety of others. These noble characteristics have caused those he has met and gotten to know to see him as a highly dependant person who they can always trust. Yusei has tan skin, a thin but muscular frame, pointy black hair with gold highlights, deep royal blue eyes, and a golden line brand on the left side of his face over his eye. He wears a sleeveless black tank top with a red circular design on the chest, a dark blue trenchcoat with black accents and golden amber stones on the edge of the collar, shoulders, elbows, and coattails, brown leather gloves with an amber stud on the mouth of the opening, a brown leather belt, jeans with amber studs at the kneecaps, and brown boots with amber studs at the ankles. He believes the most important thing anyone can have is a friend, feeling that no one should have to go through life on their own and valuing the bond between himself and his loved ones above all else, even extending this bond to the cards he duels with. He also strongly disagrees with the concept of fate and destiny, believing that fate is what people make of it, dictated by action rather than predestined outcome. He has a genius-level intellect and is highly analytical, thinking actions through carefully before performing them and capable of complex strategy and tactical planning. He also has a high level of understanding when it comes to programming, mechanical engineering, and physics. Yusei dislikes when people write things off as worthless, believing anything can be put to good use in the right circumstance. If someone were to have this attitude toward cards, he wouldn't even consider them duelists at all, deck or not. Yusei grew up as an orphan in the harsh conditions of Satellite, formerly known as Domino City, which is an island used to essentially as a dumping ground for any and all undesirables, whether they be objects or people, from New Domino City. The bridge between the two islands had been purposefully destroyed in order for it to be impossible for the denizens of Satellite to return to New Domino. There is constant social unrest in Satellite as a result, with constant warring between the police force tasked with suppressing rhe population and various Duel Gangs that have cropped up all over the place in a fight for control over various areas of the city. Forced to survive using whatever he could scrounge up, Yusei developed expert dueling skills, using a Junk deck of seemingly inoccuous and weak monsters and bringing out their full potential by expertly utilizing their effects to maximize their effectiveness. Yusei and his friends Jack, Kalin, and Crow formed a Duel Gang of their own, known as The Enforcers, with the goal of unifying the population of Satellite. However, after they gained full control of the city, the power got to Kalin's head and he became cruel, causing the rest of his friends to disband from the gang and leaving Kalin as the sole target for the Security officers to arrest, ending the reign of The Enforcers and allowing gang violence to once again poison the streets of Satellite. Years later, much of his time spent with his friend Jack and new friends Rally, Blitz, Tank, and Nervin, Yusei picked up an impressive repertoire of skills, being highly capable in hand-to-hand combat, mechanical and digital engineering, and motorcycle riding. Yusei built his own Duel Runner entirely out of scrapped parts with the help of his friends after finding a way to pick up radio signals from New Domino and introducing himself and his friends to Turbo Dueling. Yusei intended to ride through the streets of Satellite on his personally built Runner with his Stardust Dragon to inspire them. Before he could do this however, Jack stole the Duel Runner for himself and used it to escape to New Domino and become the next King of Turbo Duels. Seeing what Jack stole as the bonds of friendship between him and those he cares about, he vows to chase him down and take it back, working on another Duel Runner to make his own way to New Domino and face him. Yusei has a fear of insects as a result of a cockroach having nested in his ear for a short while in the past. Yusei is what is known as a Signer, someone gifted with a mark of the Crimson Dragon, which gives them the supernatural ability to channel the dragon's energy into Ener-D energy which powers much of the technology in his world. It also allows him to sense and locate other Signers, protect himself and others from harm, and see and speak to duel spirits when properly channeled.
