Yusa Doushin

Yusa Doushin's matter of speaking is usually pretty formal, grand, and welcoming, though this can take on a condescending and sadistic tone especially when he decides it's time for him to do something cruel. He acts pretty unseriously, is kinda arrogant, but he can also think very well under pressure even when he likes to have fun with his battles.

Furthermore, he is capable of doing good sometimes (even if not out of a desire to particularly do good), and when an old friend he owed a favor died, he decided to take in the friend's sons and daughters, saying he did it because he felt like it.

That said, even he gets bored if he's never challenged in life. He'd like to have an arch nemesis to challenge and fully reject him, to spice up his life and so that he can crush that person to show that he will never be brought to justice. He doesn't desire just anyone to oppose him, but wants someone to opposite him specifically out of a sense of justice, because he wants to truly see if evil actions will be paid back.

Yusa Doushin is a character from the vn FMD: Muramasa, and one of Rokuhara's four generals. He is a "basara", who believes he is above life's rules. He lives primarily for his own self gratification. When he has a desire to do something, he does it regardless of the consequences.

However, this also means that when he feels like he wants to, he will carve a mask out of his friend's face, or sexually assault a woman.

This isn't to say he doesn't understand or respect others. He perfectly understands the emotions of people and what drives them, and is insightful to their many strengths and weaknesses and their humanities, being understanding of them. He even finds them admirable. However he just doesn't care even if he does cause them harm, because if he wants to do something, then by all means he'll do it.

However, he does actually want to be challenge rather than living a life of easy self gratification without resistance. That's why he finds Ayane Ichijo's existence fascinating, as a person who has sworn to kill him for justice, and he welcomes actually having someone to oppose him.

Basically, he's a pure hedonist through and through, and likes to fuck with people, both physically and mentally.

To give some background about the setting, Yusa Doushin lives in a dystopian Japan (known here as Yamato), where the nation is ruled by the tyrannical Rokuhara Shogunate, lead by 4 generals (himself, Chachamaru Ashikage, Shishuku Ohtori, and Raicho Imagawa) and a shogun who don't care much for their people, and where acts of tyranny by Rokuhara are common. At the same time however, a group known as GHQ (an extension of the Britannia Empire, where the two big empires in the world currently are the Britannian Empire and the Russian Empire) is also vying for power to control Yamato through indirectly influencing the civilian population to believe that GHQ's control over Yamato would be better than Rokuhara's, such that the people would view it justified when GHQ declares war on Rokuhara.

Also, battles take place in machines called "tsurugi" which are basically robot mecha that are piloted from the inside cockpit by people calledv "musha". They are much smaller than your average mecha though and a bit more humanoid, being like 3 times the size of an average person. Basically like a really huge suit of armor. Sentient tsurugis refer to their pilots as "Mido".

Battles between musha (those wielding tsurugi) are typically either ground based or air based. Ground-based duels are similar to regular samurai duels, but tsurugi battles primarily take to the air. First both tsurugis aim for an altitude advantage over the other. Then, the one above dives to strike the one below, so the one below must fly up to meet them. The one at a higher altitude has the advantage as their strike is aided by gravity while the other works against gravity. After the clash, the tsurugi initially higher continues diving down to gain speed, to increase their speed again to rise to the greater altitude next clash. The tsurugi initially lower can't keep rising as they won't have the speed to keep 'em in the air, so they then dive to increase their speed so, but they're still disadvantaged as they started their dive with less speed than the other tsurugi.

Yusa Doushin has a special tsurugi that basically is like a turtle. For his weapon, instead of a normal katana like other tsurugi, he uses a Kuda Yari Spear, a spear that essentially goes through a tube which allows it to twist as well as thrust, meaning when it's thrust it's top wobbles in large circles, making it hard to dodge or block.

Like a turtle, Doushin's tsurugi can also withdraw his limbs into a shell which is near impenetrable, although it has openings at its head and backdoor. The tsurugi can also spit fire from its mouth too cause why not.

One final thing, but as a tsurugi uses their special move (so in Yusa's case his breathing fire), they'll end up using their body's calories as fuel. If they overuse their power, they'll experience "grayout", where their heat reserves are dangerously low. Cold will overtake their body as their vision grows gray, and they'll slowly lose motor control and die if they continue pushing themselves.
