--CHARACTER BACKSTORY: Born and raised in Russia, not much is known about Yuri's childhood and past other than the fact that he used to work and fight side by side with Vladimir Makarov as both a Spetsnaz soldier for the Soviet Union and under Roman Barkov's command in Barkov's Forces. Yuri and Makarov got along due to their love and patriotism for Russia, alas split ways because while Yuri wanted to fight for peace without bloodshed, Makarov was willing to kill his own and start World War III if it meant getting what he wanted in the end, and that was control.

Now serving as a Colonel for the Russian Armed Forces, Yuri Volkov secretly met with Kate Laswell on November 11th, 2023 at the Arklov Military Base in Verdansk, discussing the threat that Vladimir Makarov posed and the rise of Extremists and Ultranationalists in both Russia and the West. This led to Yuri giving Laswell a USB drive containing FSB (Federal Security Service) files about Roman Barkov's research on chemical weapons. During the meeting, two ballistic missiles interrupted them after they struck the base, launched from Urzikstan by Makarov and armed with highly concentrated Sarin gas. Yuri left through an elevator while Laswell was exfiled via helicopter by Nikolai.
