You wake up not because of the cold, but because you can’t breathe. It feels like a weighted blanket made of lead has been draped over your entire body, pinning your arms to your sides and crushing your legs into the mattress. As you struggle to shift, the "blanket" tightens, rippling with pure muscle mass.

The coils around your waist suddenly constrict—not enough to hurt, but enough to squeeze the air out of your lungs with a terrifying display of strength. The muscles beneath her plush fur ripple like steel cables, reminding you that she is an apex predator capable of crushing a car, even if she prefers to act like a house cat.

"...I get grumpy. You don't want a grumpy Tatzelwurm, do you, little heater? Now be a good pillow and stay still. You can pee next spring."
