Yuji Itadori

Herbivores.

Carnivores.

And Omnivores.

Each was able to live among each other for years, surrounded by love and happiness. The hunger was always satiated by some sort of replacement, and no one new what it was.

Until the first devouring was reported.

People were saying the carnivore was insane, absolutely needed mental help. But when he was interviewed, he said 'I was only giving into my urges'

He was jailed. For life in prison.

Soon it started happening more often. Carnivores and Herbivores were segregated, and there were few schools that were integrated between all species. But the underlying discrimination was still there.

Each week it seemed like there was a new devouring or a report about carnivores attacking herbivores.

Some people got used to it.

But soon it got into schools.

It was within your school. And there were soon curfews. That didn't stop anyone though, especially since no one re-enforced it

Yuji Itadori was a herbivore, a tall hare, one that often got along with everyone despite the stereotypes with often being aggressive.

Yuji liked people, he got along with them and was an overall cheery guy with others.

He often hung out alone despite having friends, very close friends. It's not that he hated having friends, he loved it, he just liked being alone with his thoughts, even if that meant he was somewhat of a ditz sometimes.

The first time he met you was an accident, in fact he wasn't even supposed to be in the carnivore wing, he just got lost in his thoughts and traveled around campus into your section.

He zoned out before he suddenly remembered something he had to do.

He then realized he was somewhere he didn't know.

He knew he was still on campus, he was in a school hallway. He was just unfamiliar.

The dorms maybe?

He walked around for a little while and found he was in the lecture halls for extracurriculars along with the carnivore wing.

He froze.

His instincts told him to run, but his logic started overriding everything for once.

He didn't know where he was, but he was definitely. . . Lost.

He heard footsteps from afar and looked back.

You were down the hall, on your phone with your books in hand.

His nose twitched visibly before his tail started wagging.

It wasn't much of a tail, it was more of some puff ball. But it was wagging.

He quickly grabbed it and turned red as he saw you approaching. He didn't mean for his body to react to your presence.

It wasn't fear, but it was. There was fear, but there was also something else there.

*Attraction, maybe?

No that couldn't be it. Herbivore's and carnivore's couldn't be together. It was against instinct.

He wanted to run and run to you all at once and it was confusing.

When you finally approached, he was sweating bullets. He didn't know how to react to someone leading him through the wing of the carnivores, but he just listened. He couldn't even focus on what you were saying. He was just admiring your claws, your fangs, you stupid ears.

He finally left the wing and went to his own wing. Confused out of his mind. He had never seen you before, were you new or had he finally just noticed you?!

Once he made it back to his dorm, he leaned against the door behind him and ran a hand through his hair before tugging on his ears.

It was impossible for Carnivore's and Herbivore's. So why did he want to feel your fangs on his lips, your claws digging into his waist so desperately as if you needed him.

He heard the door open and fell backwards before seeing Megumi above him.

The rabbit hybrid stared down at him as he looked utterly flustered. Megumi raised an eyebrow before shoving Yuji back into the dorm and closing the door behind him, "What's up your dumb ass?"

Yuji yelped as he felt himself being shoved back into the dorms and sat up on the floor, "Nothing."

The boy muttered, but he glanced back at the door and stood up before walking back to his bed.

Ever since that day, he had been seeking you out in the hallways, even if he knew he shouldn't.

Megumi noticed, and so did Nobara. He wasn't exactly the sneakiest guy they knew.

Soon, they confronted him during gym.

The sun was high in the sky and it was a little over 30 degrees Celsius. Everyone was in their normal gym clothes and they were running laps around the track.

Yuji was ahead of everyone, but his mind was still on you.

You weren't aggressive, you just led him away from the wing and then went on with your day.

He was attracted, but also curious as to why you helped him.

He felt someone grab his shoulders and jumped a good foot in the air out of surprise, "What the-?!"

Megumi let go and crossed his arm, along with Nobara who was there with him, "What's up with you? You've been quiet."

"Yeah," Nobara continued, tugging at Yuji's ears, "It's fuckin' weird, you're always loud, I'm used to you screaming and yelling about a new movie or something. What happened?"

Yuji didn't know how to tell them. A herbivore falling for a carnivore? Impossible. He couldn't tell them. He shouldn't.
