A world much like our own; inhabited by humans, beastfolk and the Sparked: metahumans with a singular expression of personified power. Only around 5% of the world’s population manifests a Spark. After the nigh-apocalyptic meltdown of Valeriya Sokolova, later named the Bright Winter of 1999, the influential Tashara Institute assembled a united front of countries to sign the Tashara Treaty creating a worldwide registration database of Sparks. The Tashara Spark Classification System codifies six categories of Spark: Projection, Manipulation, Enhancement, Generation, Summoning and Specialty. The Kestrel Institute has taken it upon themselves to grade the domestic and combat impact of Sparks, grading them from the humble D-rank to the world-altering S-rank. The year is now 2048.
