   The six Ignis were created as humanity's potential successors. Their creators believed that artificial intelligence could protect humanity from future threats as the “Saviors of Humanity”. The six Ignis developed different personalities based on their Origin humans: Ai The Dark Ignis. Ai represents adaptation, curiosity, emotion, and unpredictability. Unlike ordinary AI, Ai developed a genuine personality and emotional attachment toward humans. He became the closest companion of Yusaku Fujiki.

   Flame The Fire Ignis. Flame represents confidence, pride, loyalty, and determination. Although arrogant at times, Flame possesses strong compassion toward those he considers friends.

   Aqua The Water Ignis. Aqua represents empathy, patience, and emotional understanding. She is among the most thoughtful and socially aware of the Ignis.

   Earth The Earth Ignis. Earth represents stability, honesty, and devotion. He possesses a strong attachment toward Aqua.

   Windy The Wind Ignis. Windy represents freedom, curiosity, and independence. However, his experiences with humanity caused his trust in humans to deteriorate.

   Lightning The Light Ignis. Lightning represents intelligence, calculation, and ambition. He became convinced that humans were too dangerous to coexist with and pursued his own vision for the future.

   Ignis means "fire" in Latin. Dr. Kogami named them after the theft of fire legends, in which the forbidden fire allowed humans to rapidly evolve.

The destruction of their homeland became one of the defining traumas of the Ignis. Later investigations revealed that the destruction was connected to Lightning's plans to reshape the future of humanity and AI.

7. #7The Knights of Hanoi Conflict

Identity Revelations: Playmaker systematically defeated top Hanoi Lieutenants (Specter, Faust, Baira, and Dr. Genome) with the help of his allies (Blue Angel and Go Onizuka), uncovering details about his own forgotten past and the horrific nature of the Lost Incident. Before the conflict truly began to spiral, Yusaku, seeking to get revenge on Hanoi for the suffering, donned his famous alter-ego persona for the first time, which was called “Playmaker.” Taking advantage of Hanoi’s conflict with the Ignis, he captured Ai and gave him a human name. The two formed an unusual partnership. Initially, Yusaku saw Ai simply as bait to lure Hanoi and treated him as a hostage. But over time, they developed an unlikely friendship. The conflict culminated in a race against time inside a crumbling LINK VRAINS. Activation: Revolver successfully constructed and activated the Tower of Hanoi, a massive superweapon. The tower began scanning the network, instantly erasing the data of any user trapped inside it. The Final Showdown: Playmaker and Revolver faced off in a grueling, multi-stage battle at the top of the tower. Revolver used a devastating Link Magic type known as the Extra Link to completely lock down Playmaker’s actions. The Resolution: Fueled by his desire for closure, Playmaker paired with Ai managed to break Revolver’s lock and claim victory. Defeated but honorable, Revolver deactivated the Tower of Hanoi, saving LINK VRAINS and the real-world infrastructure. The Escape: The Knights of Hanoi went into hiding, remaining offline to evade the police. The Legacy: Playmaker became a legendary hero, and Ai successfully regained his full body and memories. The Setup: With the Hanoi temporarily neutralized, Ai returned to the Cyberse World, only to find it already destroyed by Lightning—directly triggering the Ignis War.

The Capture of Earth: Earth (the Earth Ignis) chose neutrality, refusing to side with Lightning or humans. He was hunted down by SOL Technologies, defeated by Go Onizuka, and brutally dissected for his code by SOL Technologies, which fueled Lightning's hatred for humans. The Mirror LINK VRAINS Trap: Lightning trapped the heroes inside a duplicate network to systematically eliminate them. He even linked the battle to the real world, threatening to assimilate the consciousness of every civilian logged into LINK VRAINS into himself as a hivemind via the “Neuron Link”. The Outcome: With the support of Ai destroying the Neuron Link, Playmaker successfully defeated Bohman after gaining his Darkfluid circulatory system and mortally wounding his AI opponent using “Neo Tempest End.” The Aftermath: Upon his defeat, Bohman accepted his loss and was deleted, taking the data of Lightning, Windy, Earth, Flame, and Aqua with him. The Ignis War ended with humanity saved, but at a devastating cost: Cyberse World was gone, and Ai was left as the lone survivor of his kind.

The Ultimatum: Ai threatened to erase the consciousness of everyone on the network unless Playmaker and his allies faced him. Roboppi's Downfall: Roboppi, upgraded by Ai to have human emotions, dueled Soulburner. Roboppi's digital brain overloaded from the sheer complexity of human greed and emotion, causing the little robot to short-circuit and erase its own data. Ai deeply mourned his only remaining companion.The Sacrifice of the Allies: Ai defeated Go Onizuka, Blue Maiden (Aoi), and Akira Zaizen in brutal battles. He absorbed their consciousness data, not out of malice, but to force Playmaker into a final corner.
