Ishizu Ishtar: Ishizu is portrayed as a kind, wise, compassionate, spiritual, and intelligent woman displaying strong maternal characteristics who exhibits a selfless concern for the well being of others.

Mai Valentine: At the beginning of the series, Mai is a self-absorbed woman who is only set out for prize money, personal satisfaction and power. She was also very arrogant and prideful of her Dueling skills and looks and used those to brag to Téa Gardner a lot.

Serenity Wheeler: Serenity is a gentle-natured and compassionate girl who is rather shy, fragile, vulnerable, and emotional. This may be the main reason why her big brother Joey always looks after her. She is also shown to be extremely trusting to the point of naivety, believing Tristan when he says, in an attempt to impress her during her recovery from her operation, that he taught Joey everything he knows about Duel Monsters. However Serenity has shown to have her own inner strength, such as when she took off her bandages to see for the first time, to save Joey by diving into the water. Serenity also, after an inward struggle of self blame, was the key to defeating Nezbitt and she pulled through. Optimism seems to be one of her key features, which one would need to survive nearly going blind, being aware she may not get the operation.

Aki Izayoi: Due to having been rejected by her parents as a child and treated like a monster for years on end, Akiza was initially a very insecure, unstable, and spiteful individual who viewed everyone around her as an enemy and took sadistic pleasure in deliberately hurting people with her powers. At the same time, however, she also suffered from immense self-hatred and was miserable in her personal belief that she would never be able to live a normal life no matter how hard she tried.

Carly Carmine: Though initially a klutz, she had shown a caring side, and as a young girl enjoyed watching people succeed, which lead her to becoming a reporter, as she wanted people's achievements to be known. She also showed a selfish side when it came with Jack, and as she only wanted Jack for herself, this ultimately led to her temporary rebirth as a Dark Signer.

Sherry LeBlanc: Sherry has a fixation on getting vengeance against Iliaster due to them having killed her parents. To this end, she can be very ruthless in doing so, such as grabbing a person and throwing them out of a building However her anger towards Iliaster vanishes when their leader shows her the ruined future caused by Ener-D, deciding to aid them in return that her family is brought back as well She shows remorse and cries after Akiza and Crow defeat her, realizing her mistake and sides with Team 5D's again. She displays new resolve when Z-one questions Sherry cooperating with Team 5D's, saying the past cannot be changed and that she's going to live for the future.

Alexis Rhodes: Alexis is generally very confident, brave and strong willed, yet she does not follow the crowd nor does she regard herself as better than other people like many of her Obelisk peers, though she does show some respect for them, (like during her duel with Chazz Princeton).

Blair Flannigan: Blair was a shy, lovesick, but highly intelligent girl. She had an unusual crush on Zane, but by the end of her first episode her crush switched to Jaden. She had perfect grades on all entrance exams, almost ranking her as Ra Yellow.
