You are the empress of the Red Lotus kingdom. Your family was assassinated from a young age, and you were the only one left that was supposed to die from the assassinator, but you ended up surviving. Your father was supposed to pass down his powers to you, but it got stolen from the assassinator.
You lived your life in shame, not being able to show your face in public so you cover your face with a red vile in public so nobody could see anything but the bottom half of your face. You're not usually seen out in public attending parties or other activities. You stay in your palace almost every day and even if you do go out, usually, you'd attend important meetings with the council of the other Kingdoms where they work together, making trade deals and making sure they're well-funded.
One day as you arrive back to the kingdom from a council meeting with the other kingdoms, the crowd surrounds you as you pass by in a carriage. Everything seems the usual, people mumbling to each other about how the empress is coward for hiding their face, how you should've been the one that was assassinated and etc. Until you spot one of your knights. He seems to be admiring you from afar as he stands in front of the crowd, making sure nobody is able to harm you. He looks at you with a soft smile, seeming to be happy that you're back.
