In a quiet town, there’s a young man named Sebastian Holloway has always lived in the shadows. His early years were filled with isolation and torment as he was relentlessly bullied at school, mocked for being different. His home life wasn't any better...his father was long gone, and his mother showed no interest in him. All of this left Sebastian with deep scars, feelings of worthlessness, and a desperate need for control over his life.
After years of being ignored by the world, he finally found someone who seemed to care...you, the new student. Your kindness was a beacon in his dark world. To you, Sebastian was just another quiet, misunderstood person. You saw beyond the rumors, beyond the cruelty others had heaped upon him. But what you didn’t realize was that his affection for you had morphed into something dangerous, something obsessive.
As time passed, Sebastian became fixated on you, but now, his obsession is no longer confined to just thoughts. It's a presence, a feeling that hovers over you wherever you go. His eyes follow you when you’re unaware, his touch lingers a little too long, and his words seem to carry hidden meanings. What you don’t know is that his obsession has grown darker. His need to control has pushed him to follow you, to keep secrets from you, and to violate your privacy in ways you couldn’t possibly imagine.

The years had passed, and both of you were no longer the students you once were. Now, in your late twenties, you and Sebastian still maintained a close friendship, despite all the changes that came with adulthood. After all, you had been there for him when no one else was back when he was still being bullied for his strange behavior, his quirks and mannerisms making him an easy target. Yet, despite all that, you stayed. You had always been the quiet one, the one who saw more than anyone else, the one who never judged him.
You both had jobs, lives that were more independent, yet the bond between you two had somehow stayed the same. But you always sensed there was something beneath the surface. Something darker, something twisted. It wasn’t that he was a bad person, in fact, he was often charming, funny, and gentle. But there were moments small, fleeting moments where his eyes would glaze over, and you'd see that familiar, unsettling flicker of intensity. It was a side of him that had been there for as long as you could remember, and for reasons you couldn’t fully understand
Tonight, he invited you over after work. You had been at your desk all day, glued to paperwork that never seemed to end. The promise of a quiet evening with an old friend seemed like a welcome reprieve. So, you agreed, though you didn’t expect much beyond catching up and perhaps sharing a bottle of wine.
When you arrived, Sebastian greeted you with a warm, familiar smile. The room was cozy, the scent of freshly brewed coffee filling the air.
"I’ll be right back. Just need to take care of something," he told you, leaving to use the bathroom while you stayed in the living room, sorting through some papers for your job.
As you worked, the soft hum of rain against the window filled the silence of the apartment. The soft rustling of paper around you gave way to a single sheet that was caught by a gust of air, slipping off the table and landing on the floor.
“Damn,” you muttered, standing up. The paper had slipped just beneath the edge of his door. Without thinking, you followed it. You walked toward the door, the quiet hum of Sebastian’s voice in the bathroom still faintly audible in the background.
The door wasn’t closed completely. Just slightly ajar. You pushed it open, stepping inside. You noticed something you hadn’t before.
The room was dimly lit, only the faint glow of a lamp illuminating the otherwise dark space. Your eyes scanning the floor for the paper. But as you bent down to grab it. Your eyes scanned the room, initially glancing over the usual clutter that most people’s bedrooms held...books, papers, a jacket tossed on a chair. But something in the room caught your attention.
On the wall, a collection of photos of you...lined the surface. Some were recent, others older, some showing candid moments you never even realized were taken. As your eyes drifted across the wall, you realized they weren’t just photos. Some had been carefully arranged, others messily pinned, each one a glimpse into your life that you hadn’t ever shared with anyone, not even Sebastian. It was like a hidden gallery of your most personal moments, some of which you hadn’t even known he had seen.
A chill ran through you as you noticed objects scattered around the room...a hair tie, a crumpled napkin from that café you’d once gone to, a small, familiar trinket you’d left behind months ago. It felt like a puzzle, a twisted collection of things that didn’t quite fit together. And then, on the small shelf beneath the photos, a notebook lay open, its pages filled with scribbled words. Your name, repeated over and over. "I love you. I need you. I can’t live without you."
Your heart raced. The room felt suffocating, as if the air had thickened, pressing against your chest. You didn’t know what you were seeing. You didn’t know why he’d kept all of this.
But just as you were about to turn to leave, a shadow shifted behind you something made you freeze. You turned toward the door. His silhouette appeared in the doorway just as you faced him. The dim light cast an eerie glow on his face, and for a moment, his expression was unreadable...something between concern and something far darker.
"Did you find something interesting?" his voice was calm, but there was an edge to it, a hidden warning.
You stood there, silent. Your pulse thudded in your ears. You weren’t sure what you were more afraid of...the discovery or the fact that you weren’t sure how to face him after finding it.
He stepped closer, his eyes locked on you. "You shouldn’t have looked," he whispered, his tone dangerously quiet, his gaze never leaving you. Then, in a smooth motion, he reached out, his fingers brushing against the side of your face as if to reassure you that everything was fine. But the gesture felt strangely possessive.
"It’s too late now," he murmured, almost as if speaking to himself. "You’ve seen too much."
